ryobi 2200w generator extended run tank

So its time to buy a generator, but I want to get one that can run a 6 gallon extended run tank by ipi industries. Ive got my eye on a ryobi 2200w generator, but I cant find any information if it can run the extended run tank without having to gravity feed it. Ipi says the tank is compatible for the ryobi, but doesnt specify if it has to be gravity fed or not. As far as I can tell, only the honda eu2000 are able to run an auxiliary tank through suction because of the internal fuel pump. Has anyone ever used this ryobi generator with an extended run tank before?

Pinellas Power Products ... click on "Products" and you'll see the company offers after market solutions for Honda, Yamaha, and Champion gensets - yet another reason to stick with one of those 3 brands. 😉

Awesome. Thank you. I called ipi today and the ryobi does have to be gravity fed. According to the guy at ipi, only the honda has a fuel pump able to use a non gravity fed, standard aux tank. Ill see what these pinellas guys have come up with.

Did you open the cover, did you look in the parts list in the manual
Does it have a fuel pump
That is the big question
hard to use an extended run tank on a generator that does not have a fuel pump

Yeah, thats what ive heard. Has to have an internal electric fuel pump. I asked the guy at the Home Depot and he couldnt even find any information on it. The maker of the auxiliary tank says its compatible on the website but doesnt specify if it needs to be gravity fed or not.

The key is it needs to have a fuel pump. The Honda EU series does. I have a 3 gallon outboard type tank for my EU1000.

I just bought the Ryobi 2200 watt genie a couple weeks ago. Used if for about 5 hrs so far. Very happy with it. It is slightly noisier than the Honda, but it isn't loud enough to bother me.
