Most likely you have a flush valve that's leaking. Pretty common for Thetford toilets especially back around 2000 to 2010 I believe. Get down on your knees and lean over the toilet and flush it while using a flashlight to look at everything behind it...
You could try to lose them. We used to take our kids on vacation in our travel trailer when they were young. We left them at gas stations and rest areas along the way a couple of times but it didn't do any good 'cause they always found us.
