RE: How much anti-freeze?

50% full strength antifreeze & 50% distilled is what is USUALLY recommended….. At my business I always aimed for 66% full strength antifreeze & the rest distilled water….. And people always seem to forget that there is ALWAYS some of the old “stuff” left behind in the cooling system ( hoses, engine block, heater, etc ) unless it’s flushed out…. And if you do a good job of flushing then you have some leftover water in your system…. How much is left over in your system???

RE: Need Fuel tank for 1993 Itasca

Radiator repair shops ( if they’re good shops ) rebuild fuel tanks; I’ve done a few thousand of them……….

What the heck?……..

….. Had some RV’ers come up the mountain for a long weekend. They pulled into 3 different spots & couldn’t get any reception for watching TV… Away they went…. Guess we all have different priorities for what is necessary for some great camping….

RE: switching to two 6 volt batteries?

….. I’d recommend 2 - 6 Volt AGM ( No adding water, No acid fumes, Maintenance free, can mount in ANY position, Lasts Longer, proven technology, etc., etc. ) batteries
Unless you plan to roll the trailer, not much advantage with AGM and a lot of extra cost. Boil an AGM and there is no putting more water in, they are simply trash. Standard 6v batteries that are not abused should be good for 6-10yrs.
As to the OPs suggested batteries, they should be a nice upgrade over the current starting batteries (which are simply re-labled as marine or dual purpose). 6V batteries are true deep cycle designs.
Side note: It does seem odd that the 20amp rating is 230amp-hr but the 5amp rating is 174amp-hr. Typically, the slower you pull the amps the more amp-hr you get out of a battery.…. I would think that NO maintenance & NO acid spilling in the battery compartment & NO acid fumes would be a BIG advantage over regular FLA batteries!…………

RE: switching to two 6 volt batteries?

….. I’d recommend 2 - 6 Volt AGM ( No adding water, No acid fumes, Maintenance free, can mount in ANY position, Lasts Longer, proven technology, etc., etc. ) batteries … I also removed the battery tray from my AF to get rid of some weight & make more room in the battery compartment……

RE: Price of camping

….. Last night we camped in NV ( no hook ups, just bathroom with nice hot showers ) at a ranch, they just asked for a donation ( we put in $5 )….Animals & stargazing…. Tonight it’s free at a WMA with clean vault toilet, fire ring, table, water…. A little bit of searching and willing to live without FHU & there you go…..

RE: ebike for a heavy rider?

I have a Velowave 750w. Pretty decent ebike for the money. I was 240lbs when I got it. Carries me easily. I will say a good 'regular' bike is a better investment. Cheaper and will last longer.…. Or an exercise bike?

RE: No 110 Volts to Hot Water Heater Element

enblethen….. When I tested the voltage from my Honda 2200 it was showing 125 volts at the plug. When I tested power at the element and the frame I was getting 12.5 volts ( Honda was on ECO mode & not on high revs )… Did a continuity check on outside switch and values did not change either on / off. Bad outside switch?
