RE: fore and aft movement

Even though you are seeing the jaws move when you start and stop, the noise you are hearing may be coming from where the hitch meets the rails. If you have a PUC system this may not apply but they make some rubber sound dampers that fit between the rails and the hitch. they are very cheap on the Curt website and they can make a big difference if using the rail system. Just google Curt sound dampeners.

RE: fore and aft movement

If you keep the Curt you can adjust your trailer brakes to brake a little ahead of the truck. This will keep the king pin in the back of the jaws. I have a Curt and that is what I did and it works for me but I don't think I had quite that much play in mine but I could feel it bumping when I stopped and started. Band Aid!!! It is not broke and it is not dangerous just a little annoying from time to time. If he can get his money back fine, If not it is not really a problem Curt is a very good hitch.

RE: Climbing steep grades...

Do you hear your fan clutch engage?Might not be able to hear it on thet type of engine but on my disel it sounds like a jet taking off. Might check and make sure the fan is operating correctly.

RE: Parking RV at home

Are you parking on pavement? If you are on dirt I would put something under the tires such as gravel, treated wood or concrete blocks.

RE: Advantage of residential refrig?

The res refrigerator cools dow in a couple of hours compared to 24 hrs for the rv fridge. Residential not likely to start a fire. Would not trade for my residential.

RE: DC power

Either a dead battery or bad converter. Not sure but I think the converters have internal fuses. Have you checked yours?

RE: Arizona and AC

When it blows warm air your comprssor has shut off or frozen up. I had one acting similar to that and it was a bad thermister. I would be very surprised if one AC could cool an RV in those temps but you didn't say what size your RV is. Good luck To answer the other part of your question, any thing you can do to keep the AC unit cool will help some.

RE: Mildew/mold(?) on wood under roof

You are fine. It won't mold unless it keeps leaking and keeps it wet for awhile. If it was damp under the patch it will dry.

RE: Removing Eternabond

X3 heat gun plastic scraper. You don't need to get all of the stickum off. As long as it is clean the new tape will stick just fine.

RE: Bearing repack - hub noises?

If it has been sitting for awhile the rust on the drum will certainly make a dragging sound but I don't think it should stop in a quater of a turn. Probably adjusted a little too tight.

RE: When on inverter power GFCI won't reset

You probably know this already but what little I know about aGFI plug is the power has an In and out and it must be correct. Is it possible the inverter feeds form another direction than the shore power?

RE: No Hot water

Open the pressure relief valve and see if there is water in the tank. If not you have the heater bypassed. Should have a manual on the water heater to show how the bypass works on your rig.

RE: How do I remove round AC Ceiling vent?

There should be a ring around the grill . Pop it off and it will expose two screws to remove the grill itself.

RE: TPMS Battery

I think the programming is in the monitor. All the sensor does is to sent temp and pressure readings. All you have to do is change the battery.Programming will be fine.

RE: Mount trailer tires yourself at home?

I watched three young men at Discount Tire wrestle with mounting the G rated tires for my rig to the point of exhaustion with a tire mount machine. Why would I want that kind of exercise at my age. If they were Chinese tires that ate as flexable as rubber bands, maybe.

RE: Water heater INOP on electric
