RE: Mount trailer tires yourself at home?

I watched three young men at Discount Tire wrestle with mounting the G rated tires for my rig to the point of exhaustion with a tire mount machine. Why would I want that kind of exercise at my age. If they were Chinese tires that ate as flexable as rubber bands, maybe.

RE: Water heater INOP on electric

Check wall plug also it could be loosing connection there. I had one that would do that but it should not do it setting still.

RE: Planning on pulling Cottonwood Pass Colorado

Should not be a problem if your rig is up to it. It is now paved on both sides. The recently paved West slope is as smoothe as glass. A few sharp curves so keep it under control.

RE: FURNACE NOT LISTED ON THERMOSTAT

The dip switches in the roof units determine what shows up on the thermostat. If you have not made any changes in the roof units then I suspect you are right about a bad control board. This is for Dometic units. Not ssure of other brands.

RE: Anybody else have trouble packing for camping

My only problem is moving it when my wife gets it loaded.

RE: Leave slide out?

I would pull them in. You need to exercise the motors and bearings ocasionally and you would unnecessarily be exposing the seals ans wipes to UV rays. Also if the slides are out I feel it is mor vunerable in a storm.

RE: Replacing ac/heat pump

Sure you can replace a heat pump with just an AC but I would go back with the same brand especially if you have two units. You will have to replace the therostat is you change brands.

RE: Where to jack

If you are lifting by the frame or with hydraylic levelers, do not lift all four wheels off the ground at one time. You could flip the shackles and that is a pain in the %%%%% to fix. I would not jack a wheel up like in the pictures unless I had a jack with a large enough head to fit over both U bolts or some other type of pad. There is too much weight on a very small area the way the picture shows. I suspect that is why the axle mfg recommends using the frame.

RE: Where to jack

According to the axle mfg you should use the frame in front and behind the wheels. I use a jack under the axle where the springs are bolted to the axle. I also use a board between the jack and the axles. If your axles are on top of the spring pack you don't need the board.

RE: Slide out roof question

You don't have to get all the sticky off just get it good and clean with simple green or something like that and the enernabond will stick just fine with the old sticky still on. You can use a hair dryer or heat gun to get most of the old tape offf. Just don't get it too hot.

RE: Those with portable surge protector

I use mine at home. A lightning strike is just as likely here as anywhere.

RE: Do you tow a Jeep behind your 5th wheel?

I have seen it done once but I would not do it.

RE: Dead microwave

Most microwaves have an internal fuse. Did you check that?

RE: Quick reply please.

If you don't want to drive it in your RV be sure to go over it in your toad. Just a few miles on the other side of the pass(10 or 15) I think is a water fall called North Clear Creek Falls. About a half mile off the main road and worth the time. Before the Beetles killed most of the trees this was one of the most beautiful drives in the country in my opinion and it is still very impressive. If you are there now you should be seeing some beautiful fall colors.

RE: Man, I screwed up!! Water Damage

Check your clerance lights across the front also. This sometimes can be the source of a leak.

RE: tires

Read the reviews of the people that own them. Very highly rated tire for excellent price.

RE: Lippert 6 point hydraulic landing gear.

Yes your level point can be adjusted very easily. Look in your lippert manual. Sorry I don't have mine handy.

RE: AC problems again

Well the AC worked all day with no issues so the problem was the freeze thermister. Thanks all for your help.

RE: AC problems again

Both AC's had worked just fine B4 I left Texas. This was a new problem that developed while in Colorado high altitude. Sorry I didn't clarify that sooner. I switched the sensors this morning and as soon as I turned on the front AC on which was the unit I put the bad sensor in gave me an E5 error which is open ckt or out of range freeze sensor. So far the back unit is working as it should. I pulled the bad sensor out again and sure enough it was open ckt when I checked it with a VOM meter. I wish I had checked it before I sent to the trouble of installing it in the front unit. New sensor on order. Thanks everyone for you help. I know just enough to be dangerous on things like this. I am getting too old for this kind of stuff. Four trips to the roof! Yuck.
