RE: Portable grill/stove

Truck camper is limited for space and for people, why have a huge grill for 2-4 people? I like small and light weight. This works fine for us and I cook for up to 4 on it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Expert-Grill-17-5-10-000-BTU-Portable-Gas-Grill-Black/238454155

RE: Northern Lite truck to camper cord

well the jacks worlk off the house battery/batteries so make sure your battery or batteries are fully charged. then you could check happijack on how to reset the remote.

RE: Northern Lite truck to camper cord

you might be able to find something on youtube? search happijac. i think the wireless remote can be used with a patch cord to the control board.

RE: Northern Lite truck to camper cord

for best info i would call Northern Lite. They would know how old your camper is and if it had wireless remote or a wired remote.

RE: 2019 Ford F-350 Sat Antenna Issues

I have 2018 F350 DRW, crew cab and a 2018 Northern Lite 10-2. I really do not have much problem losing Sirus signal, but I do occasionally. When I drive north bound is when I have the most problems losing signal. Driving east/west or south bound no problems.

RE: Best truck for Northern Lite 10-2

Brochure says mine is 4,250, door sticker says 3,829. Brochure does not list with options. Door stickers are nearly always less unless maybe stripper XL model. Mine is an XLT. :)Year? Gas? Diesel? CC? EC? SB? LB? Already posted all that in earlier post: 2012 gasser EC LB 4x4. Brochure versus reality of sticker is a common issue. Steve Yeah I have a 2017 F350 4x4, XL, CC, LB, SRW, Gasser. Door sticker 4140 max payload. Never had to order it, bought it off dealer lot new with snow plow and camper packages. I have 2018 F350 DRW, 4X4, crew cab, 8' bed, plow and camper package, 6.7 diesel, with XLT package. Door sticker says 5500 payload. The truck only drops 2" in rear when my 2018 Northern Lite 10-2 is loaded on truck ready to go with full tanks. I have no need for air bags, load stabilizers or larger sway bars. The truck handles the camper almost like it's not even there.

RE: Best truck for Northern Lite 10-2

Well, I have a Northern Lite 10-2 and a 2018 F350 DRW 6.7 diesel and it is a perfect combination. I certainly would not let DEF fluid stop me from buying a diesel, it's a non issue as long as you buy DEF from your dealer. Here is a YouTube link that Runaway Roses did of my setup. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fxr6Oh9YUM&t=52s What a nice rig! The tweaks you’ve make, though seemingly small to the casual observer, reap great changes on comfort and functionality. Great job! Best, Bill Thank you Bill for the kind words. BTW, I just down the road from you in Winchester.

RE: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here

Site was not level. I do not use blocks under tires. Just release fast guns and raise electric jacks just enough to level it out. When done at campsite just let camper back down on truck attach fast guns and away i go.

RE: Microwave for Truck Camper..

You are aware that steam from stove "kills" above stove microwaves unles they have some serious ventilation- ventilation to outside. IMHO, keep the microwave in the cabinet. If you decide to go on long trip without hook ups you can remove microwave and use cabinet space. If you go on trips where you will have hook ups, put the microwave in cabinet. Best of bth worlds. Permanately install microwave and lose cabinet space forever.

RE: Ford F-350 camera over cab

If you are talking about the bed camera (in light above rear window), mine has a single center line. the line also shifts when you turn the truck. I marked a centerline on part of my camper (with a piece of black electric tape) and that helps keep camper centered while backing truck under camper.

RE: What percent of the time do you leave your TC on your truck?

A few people have said they only ever need 2WD trucks. So, quick survey. What percent of the time do you leave your TC (truck camper) on your truck? I’m probably 10%. I went camping for a few days, and did a few week trips. Would have done more, but had other things that interfered this year. At the most, I’d say 20% in any year. Probably 50% of the time for me...I do take it off to haul firewood and in the winter to have an extra vehicle available..A DRW in any shape or format is a poor grocery getter and just as poor as a choice for any off roading.. A SRW is a far better choice for a pickup to be just a pickup but a better choice for large truck campers... Not sure why a DRW is not a good daily driver/ grocery getter? I daily drive my DRW and it does great. Camper comes off while home unless we are going back out within a couple days.

RE: TC vs Small 5th wheel

What??? I back or pull my TC onto spot, disengage my fast guns get jack remote out and level camper while still on (but disconneted from) truck. Say 5 minutes and I'm level and ready. I've never seen anybody with TT or FW get their rings leveled that fast or easy. :B First, not everyone has fast guns or electric jacks on there TC.. Second..FW-Back in level east to west just as you did with your TC with no fast guns to take off and just hit the button and raise a few to be level..Win Win-FW and same Win with a TT because there was no fast guns to mess with and all are still connected in one way to the truck.... Third..Back in with FW level east to west as we do with a TC..Pull the lever out and hit the button as your wife drives off in the truck to get some more beer and the TT and TC are still connected to the truck...Win-Fifth Wheel wit extra beverages..LOL In all my years with a TC I have only seen someone do as you say once..They usually just put blocks under the front tires to level North to South.. Fifth Wheels are far and away the quickest setup in the RV world in my opinion minus the auto leveling systems, that they can have also though...Travel trailers can be a bugger to setup compared. Just a pull of the lever and drive out from under it with legs down,ofcourse...Same hooking up..Pull the lever out and back under it and your done after you plug in.. But a motorhome with auto level trumps the others in setup time, never leaving the drivers seat. Nope, I pull in or back in with my truck camper, which ever way works best. No driving up on blocks, no figuring out how many blocks needed for level. Not sure what you mean by leveling FW east to west "just as I do whit TC"???? I level east/ west and North/south all with my jacks and all at one time. Flipping a lever on a fast gun tie down is hardly what I would call "messing" with. Like I stated early about 5 minutes I'm level east/west and north south and most of that 5 minutes is waiting on camper jacks to extend. Packing up to go is just as easy. TC's imho, trump them all. I can pull in any convenience store, any roadside attraction, any scenic overlook without hesitation.

RE: TC vs Small 5th wheel

I have priced there products and there very very expensive... You're making my head hurt. Just a quick search at e-trailer for my truck.. Frame mounts...$688 Bump stops.....$300 Lower Stable L.$321 Fastguns.......$327 Total----------$1636 Now for the hurt head... These new guys that ask about getting into truck camping are not told what all they will need, most of the time,or the cost...I think it is only fair we tell them up front how expensive it can be especially with a SRW truck so they know what there getting into.. It can be really expensive for the mods so a TC will work right on a SRW truck.. I'm burnin' daylight..Got wood to split...Sorry for your headache.. Well, getting into truck campers can be expensive, but getting into 5th wheels and tt can be just as expensive. 5th wheel hitches and weight distribution hitches are not cheap. Now for the Torque Lift stuff you mentioned. You are gonna need a way to attach any truck camper, just happens that IMHO Torque Lift makes the good stuff. You can get less expensive options. As for me, I have No additional bump stops, stable loads, spring helpers or even sway bars. My F350 DRW handles my +4100 pounds exceptionally well, like it's not even there. Say what you want, but I'll bet you that i can back in or pull in a site and be level quicker than anybody i know with exception of automatic hydraulic leveling systens.

RE: bigfoot and northern lite details on their construction

On my NL 10-2 there is no flap on the outside under the vent hood, but there is one on the inside of the range hood.
