RE: Toilet Won't Flush

when our foot pedal stopped opening we were able to pry it open using a screwdriver to at least get the contents to empty. Just a work around. If you have something with a suction cup that you can get stuck onto the flapper and pull it back enough to get a screw driver stuck in there you will be in a better position to troubleshoot it.

RE: Confused and Frustrated

when you say live in full time, do you mean regularly traveling from place to place or just being in one place for months at a time?

RE: Tadi Bros wireless backup camera has intermittent problem

My information is old so you might have a different experience. We got a wireless Tadi color system in Jan 2015. Had problem similar to yours so we fought it for a while and then hard wired it in Jan 2016. It was better but then in Jul 2017, either the monitor or the camera went bad. Tadi couldn't tell us which and we were tired of trying to get it to work properly. We bought another system Rear View Safety and have been very happy with it.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

Going to look at converting the Winegard Traveler over to Dish. Are you expecting to get DNS via Dish? No but it sounds like it will be much easier to switch my locals when I move if I have Dish versus Directv

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

I called AT&T today to cancel my Directv due to the problem with Distance Network being discontinued June 1 and the lady told me that they still had hopes that they may get the bill passed through Congress. I cancelled anyway. I have jumped through Directv hoops for over 20 years now and I am just done. Going to look at converting the Winegard Traveler over to Dish.

RE: Newbie's 5th wheel

do you know what a park model is because for what you are describing I think they would be much more suitable.

RE: Turn on my hot water!

be sure there is water in it before turning it on. If the tank is empty from being winterized, you will ruin the electric element

DISH TV - Locals

I am looking for more information about switching to DISH from DIRECTV now that the Distance Network channels are going away on June 1st. I have read about people using an APP to change their local network channels. Here are my questions - 1 - Is it true you can use an app to change your NBC, CBS, ABC, & Fox channels when you move locations? 2 - Is there a limit to how many times you can make a location change? 3 - Can you suspend and reactivate your service on the app? 4 - is there a limit to the number of times per year that you can suspend your service entirely? 5 - is there a minimum amount of time that your service must be turned on for? i.e. one month? 6 - is it activated by calendar month i.e. the 1st or can you turn it on on the 18th of the month? I'm going to be asking DISH these questions too but like to have some real world information before contacting DISH or Directv. Thank you for your time.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

If DTV truly ended DNS service they would also be able to convert NY and LA to spot beam as doing the CONUS broadcast would no longer be necessary. This would add additional capacity to their existing satellites. Bill that is exactly what I was thinking. Even if I went to the trouble to find an LA or NY address that AT&T would accept it might work for a while until they change those to spot beams like the rest of the country then I would be right back to where I will be on June 1st.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

We've had DirecTV service with DNS for over 15 years. My DNS service is grandfathered at BOTH coasts. Same here - this is going to be the last straw for us.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

I got the same email this morning from AT&T. I have been on the fence for a while about Directv but kept it going because we already paid for the Winegard traveler roof mounted sat dish and I felt like in for a penny in for a pound. If they don't come up with an online way to let me switch my locals as I travel, then we will be dropping them. It will cost us around $300 for the parts to switch the sat dish to DISH. Not sure if we will do that or not.

RE: Water Hearter Source For Full-Time

Thanks, I have plenty of propane available. My concerns are more geared towards what is less problematic in the long run. problematic in what sense? why would you have problems with either one? Does your rig allow you to pick either one or both at the same time?

RE: Water Hearter Source For Full-Time

I use electric when it is included in the price of the campground. I use propane when electric is not included and propane is readily available. I only turn on the water heater about 30 minutes before I plan to shower or wash clothes. Normally stays hot enough the rest of the day.

RE: New Cell Phone Choice

we recently switched to Consumer Cellular (get the AT&T Sim card option) and have been very happy. We replaced our Samsung S4 minis (6 years old) with Samsung S10e models. The e part means it is smaller than the regular S10 model. Again very happy with the phones and the cost of the Consumer Cellular. We only have the 10gb plan per month so your results may vary depending upon your data needs. Cut our Verizon plan costs in half.

RE: Brother Printer - DRAFT or Fast Mode

FYI - finally figured it out. The new laptop was using a generic Brother print driver. I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled and now it works great. I now have the options of Fast Normal or Best.

RE: Brother Printer - DRAFT or Fast Mode

My thought would be that since there are still three options, and two of them are the same as before, the third would also be the same, just a different name. So now "Fast" is named "Normal", works the same just different name. My thoughts anyway. Are these the drivers that come with Windows 10, or did you download drivers from Brother? Just a thought, but unless you're needing color for everything, pick up a laser printer. No ink to dry out, prints really fast, and cheap. thank you for trying but the normal is definitely not the same as what I used to have as draft/fast. takes much longer to print under normal and is definitely darker and using more ink. I reloaded the disc software that came with the printer.

RE: Brother Printer - DRAFT or Fast Mode

Probably the best information you're going to get is by Googling this: "Brother MFC-J480DW printer draft mode" been there done that and they all tell me how to get to the place where draft is not offered as a choice. thank you for trying.

Brother Printer - DRAFT or Fast Mode

I have a Brother MFC-J480DW printer. Been using it for years. love it. Laptop died. Got a new Acer Spin 3. Now my print quality options are Normal, Fine or Best. Used to be Fast, Normal, Best. Does anyone know how to get a Fast or Draft print option back? I can almost hear it sucking up all my ink when it prints now, plus it takes forever. I was running Windows 10 on the old laptop and still running Windows 10 on the new one too. Have a question in to Brother but they are backed up on replies. Thought I would try here just in case. Thank you for your time.
