RE: How much SOLAR?

After you cart around panels for a year you may rethink putting them on the roof.

RE: How much SOLAR?

Furnace is about 7 amps. The best answer I can give is 400, or, all you can afford and have room for. I did ok on 360 for years, but, just ok.

RE: Propane Tank Gauge,recomendations please

Don't want to have to unhook the tanks, pull them out and take them to be refilled if they a near full or run out in the middle of a trip.Well, if you do that it's easy to tell if they're near full.. assuming you've ever lifted a full one. Simply unhook the strap and rock them. That way it's easy to tell how much is left.

RE: winterizing

It's possible the air is going into the tank. Hook air directly to the water pump outlet line - or any of the faucets- and make sure the WH is on bypass.

RE: Wheel Bearings

do you think that would have caused any damage to the wheel bearings. No. If it did you would have seen evidence right away.

RE: More campers than parks

I only camp where there is almost no one around. If the place needs a reservation then I don't want to go there. Some folks are so obnoxious or some plain old rude that I've learned to stay away.True.. when you book, you're stuck with whatever neighbors you get. And you've paid for it. The worst are groups.. people travelling together. Usually noisy as hell.

RE: New Tires - too many options

Yes, it is also about the pocketbook, I want a quality product ,and will pay for it if necessary, but not in this case, there is not a need , and refuse to give nearly twice for a tire. I don't care where it is made. This is exactly how the economy works. Always has, always will.

RE: Replacing 12-volt batteries with 6-volt

Yup kinda and I hated it. Had one 12 volt from the factory. Added two 6 volt GC2 batteries to power my inverter. . Maybe you should have removed the 12v. 2 -6v batteries are not enough for any big draw inverters. 4 minimum, 6 is better, but incredibly heavy.

RE: My WFCO finally kicked the bucket

Cold doesn't kill them, heat does. They both will if conditions are right.

RE: My WFCO finally kicked the bucket

Freezing point of a fully charged lead-acid battery is -80 degrees F. They'll be fine left outside in Id on a PD9260.If everything goes according to plan that's correct. But if your batteries get low on water (and become undercharged) from being on constant charging, you have problems, and it's not always fun refilling batteries in freezing weather. At least that's what happened to me. You simply have to check them.

RE: My WFCO finally kicked the bucket

When I had acid tubs I never left them in the cold, even on a charger.

RE: How does one charge a dual battery vehicle?

Start the engine and let the alternator(s) do its job. .I don't remember ever having to charge my truck's batteries. I didn't have any phantom loads that would draw it down.

RE: How does one charge a dual battery vehicle?

Hooking up one will take care of both. If you truly want to charge each separately you'd have to disconnect the correct wire. Of course, I'm assuming that.
