RE: Looking for inverter installation in SF Bay Area

Sounds like you know what you want. Plugging shore into it is easy, that way everything works. Mine is hard-wired directly to the panel, which accomplishes the same thing.

RE: Looking for inverter installation in SF Bay Area

Have you designed the installation or letting someone else do it?

RE: Making Oil

Do you know if the DPF on yours is designed to be taken off and cleaned? It is. I'm not sure if the shop where I had it replaced could do that or if it actually needed to be replaced. I seem to remember they said it was a goner.. and at only 100k miles. Anyway, it was expensive.
I have a switch on the dash to manually force a regen, but it has not worked. There's a little leaf on the switch I didn't notice at first. Perhaps that's the secret. In 7 years of ownership it has derated and forced me to stop exactly ONCE to regen. Scared me to death!

RE: Making Oil

You have a Freightliner, right? Maxxforce powered?Yes, 2008 Cummins 8.3L. I don't think my regen is working properly. Next shop visit when spring returns. It's very tempting to want to delete this thing, but... oh well

RE: Making Oil

That’s a very common problem on Diesel engines that were manufactured from about 2007-2010. They typically had diesel particulate filters (DPF), but did not use diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). That's what I have, and this truck does not go grocery shopping.

RE: Plumbing pressure relief

I didn't want to get onto it, but since the air dissolved into the water tells me that draining and flushing is way overdue.I drained and flushed mine 6 months ago and it does it.

RE: features for dc to DC chargers

Does your existing converter allow you to run the slides? I'm assuming you are running the converter from an inverter?Yes, it's a 30a 48->12 'buck' converter. No. I think we're talking about two different animals.

RE: features for dc to DC chargers

My main concern was amperage. Enough to run my slides. The power to run your slides is going to come from the RV batteries. Sorry... OP knows I have a 48v battery.

RE: Plumbing pressure relief

I have the same issue. I turn off the pump and leave a HW tap open. When the tap starts to drip I turn off the heater.

My main concern was amperage. Enough to run my slides. But, mine's just a converter.. I'm not sure I'm talking about what you're talking about.

RE: Mora CG or Kalaloch CG -- Olympia NP Length?????

I thought about South Beach but it is no reservations FCFS and I assumed in Mid-July it would be full.
Does it fill up most of the time??????"Yes, it's very popular. I remember showing up early on a Tuesday morning to secure a spot.

RE: Mora CG or Kalaloch CG -- Olympia NP Length?????

There are a few sites at Kalaloch you may fit in, but likely the truck will be partially in the road. 3 miles south is South Beach CG where you'd have no problem in Olympic National park.
