Oil Heater question

OK I have an old house with an oil fired heat system. What are you thoughts on adding a little "Sea Foam" to the oil tank to keep the lines and igniter clean??

RE: Trailer Hitch excessive height

Use a Blue OX 8" drop to tow my Jeep. Works very well, but as mentioned, keep an eye on the coach's receiver for stress cracks or damage.

RE: 50 amp surge protectors

Had problem with my Progressive unit, notified them and they were all over themselves getting me a replacement. They make a great product and stand behind it. Kinda unusual nowadays..........

RE: got winterized yesterday

Doug, I had antifreeze pumped into the lines. I "Assume" he was suggesting not leaving the old filters in since they still have water in them and would freeze and crack. He also said to put fresh filters in, in the spring. I would also assume that by putting the caps in over the winter, I would not have any dripping antifreeze in the refer or under the sink. Here in the mountains of Virginia it gets down to single digits frequently. Last year went for about 15 days where it never got above freezing. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

got winterized yesterday

Tech told me to buy a set of water filter bypass plugs for my refer and undersink water filters. Who has them, and where did you get them?

RE: Just a reminder, re winterizing.

at least there is no "color" in the ice. I used my jacks to tilt left and right to drain as much as possible. Waited till dripping stopped before tilting the other way. Good luck!

Just a reminder, re winterizing.

Getting my coach done this Wednesday. Friend reminded me to go thru from top to bottom, front to back, left to right and look in every cabinet and cubby for anything that might freeze. Laundry soap, WD-40, Pam, anything...! While at it, pull all AC filters and give them a good cleaning so they are ready for the spring outing, you know your are already planning it.

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

OP here, well Ralph was right. I put an indoor out door sensor next to the water pump(which is located in a compartment next to the rear wheel on the outside wall) Set the thermostat to 50. Got up this morning to 23 outside, 50 in the coach and 44 @ the waterpump. Will finish my coffee and read the paper and go out and turn things off. Feel much better knowing everything worked like it's supposed to. (as you can probably tell, coach is new to us)

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

Doug, I have found your advise and experience to be very helpful on my previous unit and hope I can depend on it in the future. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods I would love to buy you a coffee/beer. Not trying to get something over on someone, just want them to stand behind their work. nothing more, nothing less.

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

You guys are too much. Yes, if I pay someone to work on my stuff I expect them to stand behind it. If I have put the system in danger prior to them working on it I will tell them. Always have, always will, that is why my service people will work with me and give me a priority. This is a new vendor, I have to earn their trust as they earn my business.

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

Sorry Mitch, didn't give the front story. Just got back from our southern beach trip. Booked the dealer back in Sept., this was the earliest they could get us in. Only reason we came back when we did.

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

Dollar Tree usually carries regular 100 watt light bulbs. They make good heat sources for pipes. Fear the heat would melt the bay floor. Both wet bays are heavy plastic

RE: gonna get cold, pipes?

Might put an electric heater in the basement. Any reason you can't pump or blowout yourself? 4 reasons.. 1) Back 2) Hips 3) Knees 4) and most important, I want someone I can hold responsible if anything happens. So off to the dealer & as I said, need some other things looked at and adjusted while I'm there.

gonna get cold, pipes?

I've got a 15' Winnebago-37F. Tanks are all empty, lines are full. Having winterized Wed. (along with a couple of other things) Is running the gas furnace enough to get thru the nights till then? Supposed to be 20 tonight. Will I get enough warm air circulation?

RE: Sales Advice - Lots f Interested Buyers!

I would send out an email, that who ever was first in line with cash is the new owner. You are not running a business trying to be fair to gain new customers, you are selling an item one time.

Looking for a DP with a back window.

Coming from a 5'ver, really miss the rear window, most campsites seem to have the view set behind you. Class A's usually have an enclosed back end. I miss my view. Ideas?
