RE: Chevy 1500HD vs. 2500

We had a 2001 1500HD, and it performed very well. At the time we towed a 30ft Jayco fifth wheel that weighed 7k pounds. We went all over the US without issue, it is a good truck. Now we have a 40ft fifth wheel, and a 3500HD dually.

RE: Looking into a 2017 Grand Design

We have a 2015 303RLS, and we are quite happy with the unit. We've towed over 26k miles, and have only experienced minor issues. Like the others have said, it appears the newer units are not as solid as ours. However, they dominate the campgrounds I visit.

RE: Recommendations for 30 -32 ft 5th wheel

We've had a good experience with our Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. We've owned it for 5 years, towed for over 26k, and have only had minor issues.

RE: single or dually

Love the dually, just remember the fenders do not stick out any further than your mirrors.

RE: peak traffic times in cities

Not any different from when you don't have the trailer.

RE: Your experience with a Dually vs SRW hauling 5ver

I've towed for 15 years with a 2500HD, now I tow with a 3500HD DRW, there is absolutely no comparison. The 3500 is so much more comfortable and stable, I will never return to a SRW. BTW, you'll get used to driving the DRW, I do it everyday, and I still work for a living.

RE: Kudos to Grand Design

I've owned a GD Reflection for 4 years, and I have no complaints. Most of the issues risen are due to poor dealers, thankfully I have a good one.

RE: Can your RV handle the high winds of a hurricane?

Can't withstand the wind, nor the debris.

RE: Which 5th Wheel Hitch?

I've used the Reese 16k for 15 years now without any issues. I always do a pull test, and I've never had it come loose. Also, it is not a slider, and I've never had any issues with the trailer contacting the cab. You just have to pay attention.

RE: Fifth Wheeler Question

We have a Grand Design Reflection, have towed it over 18k miles in 4 years. Only minor issues at this point.
