RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

We camp with family mostly and have no desire to speak to outsiders. If someone approached us we would be friendly but we arent camping to meet new people.

RE: Looking at a 2014 Prime Time Crusader 315 RST

We have a 2013 Primetime Lacrosse and we love it. Unfortunately about a month ago as I was checking the suspension and noticed that the frame is cracked above the rear spring hanger on each side of the camper. A quick google search will show you that this is a gigantic problem on the Lippert frames they use. I will never own another Primetime product.

RE: Experience/Opinions on a 2008 F450 for Towing

My experience with a 2008 6.4 was atrocious. Injectors, radiators, and rear main seals. Do yourself a favor and run as far as you can from 6.4 Powerstroke

RE: Terrible Trucks

I definitely don't agree with the brutal depreciation. I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 Tradesman brand new in 2012 for 39,000. Bought that model because it was in my budget. Paid it off in 48 months. I got the itch for a new truck in April of 2018, 6 years later and traded it in for 33,000 and bought a 2500 Laramie. 6 years use 50k miles and only lost 6k. Thousand a year depreciation isn't bad. Diesels hold their value.

RE: Thoughts on Cougar 364bhl vs Reflection 311BHS

I like some of those Durango plans and the look. Just seems like due to the half ton series being lighter the carrying capacity is only 1400 to 1700 lbs. That's one of the complaints with my tt now is the low capacity. Ideally I'm looking for something with the plan I like and a load carrying capacity of 2200lbs or more.

Thoughts on Cougar 364bhl vs Reflection 311BHS

We are considering making the move to a fifth wheel and were really considering the Grand Design Reflection 311BHS floorplan but then walked through the Cougar 364BHL floorplan. They are both priced very similar and ave the same features. We really like the bigger beds for the kids as they grow in the Cougar but for some reason, I have it in my head that Cougar is not as nice a brand as Grand Design? The only other downfall (maybe) is the height of the Cougar. Its listed a full foot taller than the Reflection at 13'5? What are your thoughts?

RE: What do I need

Well I'm getting cold feet. Too many what ifs, or maybe. Thing I like about the TT is in 30 years of camping never had a camper to truck issue. I'm thinking the Rockwood 8327ss travel trailer may be my next. Thanks for all the replies.

RE: What do I need

Thanks for the comments. I walked around the campground this morning talking to others that had shortbeds and fifth wheels. They all loved them and had no complaints.

RE: What do I need

So is it safe to say that a travel trailer is easier to maneuver and less to worry about on uneven terrain? It seems like bed clearance could be an issue pulling into gas stations, up my driveway, etc.

RE: What do I need

It's a short bed. What made you go back to travel trailer? I'm not convinced either way. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

What do I need

I know from searches and skimming there are about a million different options as far as hitches, sliders, non sliders, etc. But I am still confused as we have been in a travel trailer for the last 16 years. I have a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 short bed and am looking at a Grand Design 311bhs. What hitch do I need? I dont want to have cab to trailer contact on accident and want something fool proof. I've seen sliders but also something that hooks to the kingpin on the RV instead? I'm sure it's been asked before but help me please. I am also worried about bed clearance to the rv because my driveway is kind of steep getting in. What if anything do I need to be looking at there?
