RE: About to leave, truck batteries are dead question

This may sound like a silly question but did it rain over night when you came outside and found the truck batteries dead ? The reason I ask is cause I have a early 1999 F350. Sometimes after a good rain what happens is water will get to the inside of the outer door handle where the electrical switch is for the inside illumination lites and cause them to come on and run the batteries down. Ford may have corrected this on later models.

RE: Who’s still using a 7.3 diesel truck

Wish I could post a picture from my tablet. Try this.

RE: Who’s still using a 7.3 diesel truck

Early 1999 F350, crew cab, dully, 8 foot bed, auto trans, w/tow package, 4.10 limited slip. Current mileage 92,500. My dad bought it new in Dec. 98. He passed away in 08 but not before taking it to the east coast, Chicago, Alaska (arctic circle) and a few other shorter trips, we live in Central Texas. I inherited it upon his passing. Sold the 5th wheel, did not want something that big. Early 2020 I started to do some mods to prep for a camper. Installed a Mishimoto trans cooler, TS performance chip and piller gauge pod (trans temp, fuel pressure, ETG and boost gauges). Installed Rancho RS9000XL shocks all 4 corners. Already have Firestone air bags that my dad installed. Found someone selling a complete Torklift camper frame mounts and 20k hitch. That's the truck. Bought a 2000 Bigfoot 25c10.6 around Aug. last year and in the process of fixing a few issues. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet. Wish I could post a picture from my tablet.

RE: Truck Camper Jacks

Yea I broke the head of the push in pins also, if you notice that the disingagement shaft has a slot in it, you can use a flat blade screw driver to pry the rest of the pin out. I also chucked up a 3/8 drive (3 in.) extension in to a cordless drill (backwards) to run the leg screw in and out once you get the bottom gear out. I got Happi-jack to send me a pdf file with the part numbers available.

RE: Truck Camper Jacks I bought a 2000 Bigfoot 25c10.6 a couple of months ago and had to replace 2 of the complete assemblies (motor and jacks) and the other two electric motors. Had to take those two jacks apart, clean and lube the threaded rods, made a big difference (was binding). The link above helped me.

RE: Looking for some advise on flat beds / cab and chassis

Not that I can answer any of those questions but I have been thinking of the same thing. Don't know if they have any distributors in your area but CM truck beds, in OK, have the AL RS Series that I have my eye on.
