RE: Lithium batteries high for Stepwell, will they start genny?

our genset starts off the coach battery, not the house battery. You may able to modify the battery box to drop it down lower to clear the top

RE: Marine/RV Battery

I just picked up 3 deep cycle 12v batterys for ours, one replaced the original one for the rv, and welded up a frame to bolt to the frame rail of the motorhome to hold the other two. I still have to wire in the second two battery as yet thought, this weekends project.. Our local auto parts supply shop had them on special for a $139 each shop price..

RE: Problem with Extended Warranty

even if the thermostat did fail, all it will do is over heat, and the rad cap should release any excess pressure before it blows the rad/ heater core, or hoses... have had many with stuck thermostats over the years, and never blown a rad due to it...

RE: Electrical Issue

I think this is a problem with the way the fuse box is wired in the RV's in that the white wire is grounded inside the fuse boxes, so if there is any current passing back through the ground, the gfi will trip as you now have both the white and the ground that can pass current rather than just the White.. Nope. The white neutrals are not connected to the grounds. This doesn't happen until it gets back to the campground main service. Pedestals and RV's neutral are floating. and not connected to the grounds. GFI's are special built to detect a 5 MA leak hot to neutral and neutral to ground. Remove your panel cover and have a look inside. They have separate ground bars. The grounds are bonded to the frame of the RV. yes look inside the back of the fuse box, you will find that the white wires are connected to a common bus bar that is attached to the metal case of the fuse box, and a separate buss bar for the grounds, that is also connected to the case too..

RE: Broken leaf springs - third time!

We just had a small travel trailer towed in to the shop today with a broken spring, from the looks of things the front fixed eye was over tightened and put undue strain on the spring.

RE: fresh water tank

Our motorhome only has one check valve on the city water in line into the main supply line, there is no check valve after or before the water pump. Ours relies on the check valves inside the water pump to stop the city water pump from back-feeding into the fresh water tank, I have installed a gate valve at the bottom of the fresh water tank though so that I can clean out the water pump pre-screen without dumping the fresh water tank or flooding the rv. I would check the line between the tank and the pump, and the pump and the main water line of the motorhome

RE: No Start

have someone try the starter, while you listen for the clicking noise under the hood to find the starter relay, some GM's the extra starter relay was an after thought and could be placed anywhere, found some mounted on the rad support as well..

RE: winterizing with compressed air

I also blow out the lines first to get rid of as much water as I can first and then pump in the pink stuff using the tank pump to pump in the antifreeze and never had any problem with broken lines. also out motorhome has all copper lines in it and most have no way to get to it something where to break or it would be a real PITA to get at. So for the cost of antifreeze its a real piece of mind not having to deal with leaks in the spring. Last year I had to break out the shelf under the bathroom sink to get to a water leak on the mother in laws motorhome, was no fun trying to work in such a confined space.
