RE: My DC Compressor Fridge conversion in progress

When I replaced mine in my 2006 Outfitter Apex 8 I went with an Isotherm unit. Same exact footprint as my Nocold but 45% more refrigerator space. I had to play some tricks getting it into the camper but it was worth it. Irregardless of images, this winter my Dometic ammmonia fridge is coming out and a 12/120 compressor fridge is going in but instead of the one like you have, I'm getting a pre packaged unit from either Panther or West Marine. Probably a Dometic cool box and my not so old fridge (3 years old) will go on CL.

RE: Time to install tires on my truck camper setup

Cooper Discoverer LT295/70R18 will fit on the stock RAM 18" rim and are rated for 4080# each.

RE: Time to install tires on my truck camper setup

The truck has factory 18" wheels. TorkLift suggested that if I added air bags, installing stable loads to engage the springs would help quite a bit. My truck requires drilling the springs for installation, so not sure I want to do that myself based on how hard that metal is and the resulting drill time at a bad angle. I had to drill the 2006 RAM lowers. It was a piece of cake. I placed a block of wood on a floor jack with the drill motor placed onto the block of wood. Slowly raise the floor jack applying constant pressure at a moderately slow drill speed with some cutting oil - viola. Torklift gives you four drill bits (one for each spring) with the kit, I used one drill bit for all four. No worries. HOWEVER -- my 2015 RAM 3500 SRW had holes from the factory - no drilling required.

RE: Arctic Fox 811

13'2" on the back of a 2015 RAM 3500 4x4 SRW MegaCab. That's to the top of the standard A/C and 20W solar panel.

RE: Truck camper mileage

2015 RAM 3500 4WD MegaCab SRW Cummins TD with an Arctic Fox 811 (roughly 4200# loaded) we usually average 14-16mpg. I tend to keep it at about 62mph most of the time occasionally a bit faster. The truck has 3.73 axle ratio. I routinely average 19mpg unloaded. I am a very light footed driver, loaded or unloaded.

RE: Arctic Fox Fox Landing Extra Step.

We use this step It's adjustable for unlevel ground - works great and fits in the slide compartment

RE: City of Grants Pass OR

If someone can shrink ease do. Here is a pick of where we are taken on my phone First let me say that I'm not in favor of the city (in this case). But you are ANYTHING but stealth. Put the jacks UP and hide the leveling blocks a bit better. Really, I think you can figure out a way to get level in the driveway - it's not that steep. Last resort - pop the camper off in the driveway and use the jacks for leveling keeping as close to the ground as possible. You're set up in the street like you're long term.

RE: Dodge 3500 with "Ram Box" pick-up bed???

Lokk at the RAM website RAM Build Sheet. ALL RAM Box trucks are "Not rated for campers" according to RAM. I'd pass on the RAM box. I am looking at another truck and the one I am looking at now has the "Ram Box" pick-up bed. Is there anyone carrying a camper with that pick-up bed? I have a Northern Lite 811
