RE: Joined the B&W Hitch Club

I joined the B&W club back in '17 with their Patriot non slider model and won't look back. Best thing I did. At the time, had a SB F350 which got traded for a DRW in '18 but same hitch as the '18 didn't have the puck system option (off the lot buy). I can simply just reverse the whole top half to move the king pin back/gain more room between cab window/5er as well as front compartment/bumper of truck. Granted the DRW is a LB, still the B&W works flawlessly. And yes, the Pres of the B&W club was consulted 1st! LOL

RE: Step to reach hitch pin

I had the same prob and asked the fine folks here the exact same thing. Solution: A foldable metal step that goes over the rear tire that simply folds up and gets placed inside the box leaning up against the outside wall. Works great. BUT (isn't there a always one of these?), 2 things to watch for. 1. cotter pins may fall out. 2. Careful not to hit side of box (outside/painted) when taking in/out. Has many adjustments and once it's set, don't have to fuss w/ it again. Forgot where I purchased it from, but want to say Amazon???

Nose high? Time to load up the front compartment and BR! LOL. Looks good. Perhaps will meet up w/ you down the road someday being a fellow BC owner.

RE: Rain shield for sliding window on trailer?

Never liked slider windows for this exact reason. LOVE the tilt out ones MUCH better. May not get the same amount of airflow, but no rain gets in.

RE: Tires---Ouch

I paid around 200/tire last Sept for Mastercraft Cursers for the dually. So far, happy w/ them. Got 'em from my tire gurus whom I've used for past 25+ years.

RE: 40 or 45 ft 5fer, any difference

We went from a 38, to a 41, and haven’t had any problems yet. I just make sure that they know exactly how long we are when I call to make reservations. ^^^^^^^^ LIKE ^^^^^^^

RE: Heads up for tow vechicles

Yep, my '03 F250 was showing signs of exact same thing and box was starting to go south as well. 5er hitch not part of the box, so was okay there. Was considering getting a new(er) box, but other issues came up w/ the truck, so traded her in for a '15. Now that I have a alum box, be interesting to see how things go w/ that. Also added a Auto Saver to it. Supposed to be a rust preventer and better that Ziebart who I've used for years. We'll see.

RE: Hope this is OK for this forum - DEF question

Just a observation here. The way everyone is making this topic sound, makes it sound like folks are going thru DEF like water thru a sive. A full tank of DEF should last you few thousand miles. If that's the case, then one should be able to stop at a major truck stop and get DEF (and fuel perhaps) right at pumps w/o trailer in tow or even in tow. I will agree as well that I've had issues w/ the jug nozzle /vent location when I've gotten it/used it for my semi.......major PITA, but after re-doing the nozzle, was ok.

RE: 40 or 45 ft 5fer, any difference

We went from a 35' to 41' (tho mfr says it's shorter) and love it. We don't travel a whole lot per se, so we know in advance where we can fit into. So far, no probs, but we always ask/tell them how long the coach is to be sure we can fit. Most CG's we've been to and asked this have been very good about stating there or nor they can accommodate us. We've also considered going smaller just as others have said about fitting into state/provincial parks and all, but each time we say that, we keep coming back to the fact as to why we bought what we have now. As for fueling, always stop at truck stops w/ trailer in tow and fuel at truck pumps. May have to wait for one to ,open up, but much more room ro maneuver around. If no trailer, I try to find a fuel stop used by many or local companies that fuel there so as to get a high turnover of fuel. My co-worker bought a Cyclone TH 45' a couple years back and when he pulled into a CG, a camp worker stopped at his driver window and said "Man that things is long". But he didn't have any probs getting into his site (truck driver). So as many have said, choose the floorpan you like best and go for it.Just make sure you have enough tow vehicle for it. We didn't and had to upgrade that the next year..........didn't want won out.

RE: fuel stops through west virginia

Order yourself the "Pocket Truck Stop Guide" book. Lists all truck stops along the Hiway's and byways, mile markers, brand etc. Love ours.

RE: TPMS: What's the latest?

I have 14 tires on the ground. I have a dually, 5th wheel, and a cargo trailer in tow. I LOVE my TST 507 TPMS. My biggest issue so far was repositioning the caps after I had my tires rotated. Particularly on the inside dual tires. Why the need for sensors on truck as it should be on them from factory and either can set dash to watch them or just let it tell you something's going on?

RE: Norcold Refrigerator

Go to a RV place and get some drain tube hose. Worse case senerio, and temp solution, put a windshield washer hose on it for now. At least it should drain out til better fix can be had. You should also be able to access the rear of the fridge drain tray hose outlet and attach some hose as most exit thru the a hole in large cover that you removed.

RE: New Rig!

Congratulations! Agreed that you will love the rear living room layout with the chairs and rear window; we love ours too! You will love how your truck tows it too! He's exactly right about the extra room in LR portion. As our kids were getting bigger and 1 left the nest, the other wasn't far behind. We knew that we wanted a rear LR (and even now w/ DD/SIL/and g-son come we think" Would a TH be better"?), but we come back to "No" as this is for "Us" and guests will have to make do. So when looking, DW sat in theatre seats and saw they had everything, plus the FP, she yelled out "ThIs Is It!". Told her not to look at the bling. Course at that time she didn't know about the FP in BR. Anyways, we've been very happy w/ our Big Country and rear LR and slide in slide BR. ONLY downside, well ok 2, is 1 main slide blocks access to bathroom when in and 2nd is that we had to get a new truck (DRW) due to weight. Not that in itself is a bad thing, but I was really liking the SRW we just got couple years before thinking that would be our last truck. So enjoy it man!!

RE: Need help narrowing down 5th wheel

What does everyone think about OP taking a look at mid bunk/multi purpose room 5ers? Offers 2 in mid room, 2 on loft and 2 in rear. Although, I'd tend to agree that a toy hauler (TH) would probly be his best best overall.

RE: Equa-flex suspension?

Just another thought here, but were the wet bolts installed so the holes in them are at the 3/9 o'clock position?
