RE: Suggestions for a shorter 5’ver…

We have a Winnebago Minnie Plus 27RLTS. Right at 30 ft. No bunks, but the dinette and sofa are both a full 8 feet long and easily accommodate taller sleepers. It has a good amount of storage. Probably not 4-season. These trailers are not available new anymore, but might be a good option if you can find one.

RE: Where to in June

The Minnesota State Parks on the North Shore of Lake Superior are great! Three in particular have very nice campgrounds -- Tettegouche, Temperance River (really pretty hiking there if you like to do that...), and Cascade River. They wouldn't be booked up for next summer yet, because you can only book 120 days ahead. So you would have to count out your days and be on the computer to book at the first opportunity. They WILL fill up quickly. Further down I see you mentioned possibly South Carolina as well. Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort, SC is quite nice. Right on the ocean.

RE: Glacier National Park and Mount Rushmore campgrounds

Another vote for West Glacier KOA here. very much enjoyed our stay there. Don't have any experience with camping in the Mt. Rushmore area so can't offer an opinion on that.

RE: 2016-2021 with Island Kitchen floor plans

We have a 2019 Winnebago Minnie Plus 27RLTS with a kitchen island. Unfortunately, we cannot access the refrigerator without opening the slide. If only they had made the island about 4 inches shorter...

RE: Best/Favorite RV Resort

There is a very nice resort called Indigo Bluffs near the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan. It has a regular campground side that is very nice as it is, but they also have a "luxury" side which we found absolutely fantastic. We stayed on the "regular" side, but had we known how nice the "luxury" side was, we would have happily paid the higher price for that. The other nice resort that we have been to is the West Glacier KOA near the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Those are probably the two nicest places we have stayed.

RE: Inflatable Kayaks

Another brand to look at would be Paddle North. I have one of their paddleboards, but they have kayaks as well.

RE: Voyageurs National Park

Try this park - we stayed there - make sure you take the boat tour in the park. Verizon had great service there. The Pines of Kabetogama Resort Kabetogama Minnesota We also stayed at The Pines of Kabetogama and had good service with our AT&T phones. We would recommend this resort to anyone interested in staying in the area. The resort has boats for rent if you are interested in that. We were there last summer, so things like the boat tours and other attractions were not available. And the VNP Visitor Centers were closed. Not sure what the status is on any of that for this year. You'd probably have to visit the national parks website to find out about any restrictions. We had our own boat along so did some fishing and boat exploring. There are some hiking trails in the park as well. Be sure and visit the Ellsworth Rock Gardens (only accessible by boat). Edited to add: One thing to also note is that because the Canadian border is still closed, northern Minnesota campgrounds and resorts have been extra busy trying to accommodate folks who would normally have gone to Canada. It's possible you might find availability somewhat limited. The one resort we always go to on Lake Vermilion said last year that as soon as the border was closed, they started getting phone calls from people looking for alternatives to their Canadian vacations that had to be cancelled. If you are interested, I wouldn't wait to start calling around.
