RE: Roadside Assistance

some where I read that AAA is only good in your home state, don,t no if thats a fact or not. coach net has been good to us ,and you can understand the person on the phone,never could understand why they have people on the phone who don,t speak english. used three times with great service each time. AAA is good in all the states, not just your home state. AAA has taken good care of us all over the country so I wouldn't be paying for any other coverage from another company.

RE: Length restricted rv parks

How many rv parks that anyone has run across do not allow anything any bigger than 40’? Thx A lot! It is humorous for me to see folks with short campers answering the question and say they have not seen that problem. Also, the longer you are the more difficult to level on a slope. Were those parks regular commercial RV parks with full hookups or were they government campgrounds? I know lot's of government campgrounds limit size but I've never seen commercial RV parks that limit the size.

RE: surgegard issue

I bought a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter that was extremely tight so I returned it. You'd think they'd be able to get it right.

RE: Length restricted rv parks

None that can think of. We've hit all the lower 48.

RE: Blade Seal

I have two toilets and both have been holding water fine for the past 14 years. I keep water in the bowl all the time which keeps the seal from drying out. I also clean them with Dawn dish soap at the end of every trip by pouring the dish soap in the bowl and then using a three inch toilet brush to clean off the seals. Have you been keeping water in the bowl constantly or did it dry out?

RE: Mind the Batteries

Yes, he did. But, he was having an issue with his batteries dying. Only to discover last month that his inverter had STB. He has replaced the inverter. I thought this might prove to be a redundancy. Just in case? I carry a small charger but keep it stored and don't use it unless I'm having a problem. For example the alternator went bad on my toad while we were in Florida so I would hook up the charger on it every night until we got back to California. What is STB?

RE: Mind the Batteries

Does he plug into power when not using the coach? I assume you are getting him the charger for the times he's not using it.

RE: Batteries not charging {Resolved}

Well.....I was kinda right. HIS inverter doesn't charge batteries.

RE: Batteries not charging {Resolved}

Inverters don't charge batteries. They discharge them. Converters charge batteries.

RE: Trust Worthy Service

I'd suggest having your MAF cleaned based on my experience with my 8.1 engine.

RE: RV Storage Condos - 7 Years later

Groover said: "Congratulations on your success! I don't get a complete picture in my mind of what a storage condo is. Is it just a storage yard for RV's or is there more to it? Could you post some pictures? " I'd like to see a picture too. Always thought an RV storage area would be a good investment.

RE: Windy today

What are your tire pressures set at? Over inflated tires will cause handling problems. Where are you headed on the first trip?

RE: I need a RV mentor

There was a brake recall on the Bosch brakes that are installed on these chassis. You need to find out if that was completed. The calipers wouldn't release and would drag. Have you weighed the coach yet and set the tires pressures to the tire makers recommended pressure for your weight?

RE: I need a RV mentor

I have the same engine/chassis. Did you get any of the maintenance records? The Allison 1000 transmission came with Dexron iii fluid and that needed to be changed every 25,000 miles or two years along with the spin-on transmission fluid filter at the first 5,000 miles. Have the hoses and belts been changed? Plugs and wires?

RE: MH trip to Keys & New Orlean lessons

We've been to New Orleans five times and always had a good time. We especially enjoy Muffuletta sandwiches at Central Grocery and Beignets across the street. There are tours of the places where they build and store the floats plus other city tours and a cable car ride. We always have stayed at the French Quarter Rv Resort. Very nice. As far as the Keys...went there in 1976 and had a nice time. We went back in 2016 and man oh man what a change. Didn't even stay overnight.

RE: F53 tag axle brakes

You may want to buy an IR gun and shoot all the brakes.
