RE: What to do about fire damage

Sounds like if it wasn't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all.

RE: How to turn off interior lights while driving

I'd suggest asking a few neighbors in the RV park you are staying in. RVer's are friendly people and we were all new to this at one time. Tell your neighbor you are new and ask if they could help you.

RE: I did not know

Many Class A RV's have an Allison transmission. None to my knowledge have a 1000 series though. The internal "filter" is a fine screen, it is not a true filter. Ray...My Monaco class A definitely has an Allison 1000 transmission.

RE: I did not know

What model Allison transmission? The Allison 1000 has a spin on filter and an internal filter. Allison says never change the internal filter unless you are rebuilding the transmission. They also say to NEVER do a power flush on the Allison 1000.

RE: 2003 Workhorse W22 running horrible

I believe there was a recall of sorts on a leaking fuel rail. I know mine had been done already when I bought it new in 2004. Check to see if all your recalls have been done. Until you find the source of the leak I suggest not starting it. Over 50% of RV fires are caused by fuel and transmission fluid leaks.

RE: Trouble shooting the cause of Charge Line blown fuse

Is there a trailer or toad plugged into that connector when the fuse blows?

RE: Let’s hear your best MPG and driving style ?

I was going across The Bonneville Salt Flats on I 80 one time. It is very flat and there was no wind that morning. About 50 miles of flat, straight road. I experimented with going 65 MPH for five miles and then 55 MPH for five miles. And then 65 MPH for five miles and then 55 MPH for five miles again. My instantaneous MPG readout stayed pretty much the same for both speeds so I'm in the camp that says it doesn't make that much difference. I've averaged 7.1 MPG over 95,000 miles. I recorded ever gallon of gas I put in the RV over the past 14 years. I don't care what it costs and will go to the gas station that is empty as opposed to going in the cheap places where I stand a chance of being hit by some nimrod.

RE: New AC

From what I've heard lately about air conditioner availability, I'd probably buy the first one I could find in stock and make it work.:) Took the words out of my mouth. Good luck finding anything in stock.
