RE: Mind the Batteries

Yes, he did. But, he was having an issue with his batteries dying. Only to discover last month that his inverter had STB. He has replaced the inverter. I thought this might prove to be a redundancy. Just in case? I carry a small charger but keep it stored and don't use it unless I'm having a problem. For example the alternator went bad on my toad while we were in Florida so I would hook up the charger on it every night until we got back to California. What is STB?

RE: Mind the Batteries

Does he plug into power when not using the coach? I assume you are getting him the charger for the times he's not using it.

RE: Batteries not charging {Resolved}

Well.....I was kinda right. HIS inverter doesn't charge batteries.

RE: Batteries not charging {Resolved}

Inverters don't charge batteries. They discharge them. Converters charge batteries.

RE: Trust Worthy Service

I'd suggest having your MAF cleaned based on my experience with my 8.1 engine.

RE: Trust Worthy Service

RE: RV Storage Condos - 7 Years later

Groover said: "Congratulations on your success! I don't get a complete picture in my mind of what a storage condo is. Is it just a storage yard for RV's or is there more to it? Could you post some pictures? " I'd like to see a picture too. Always thought an RV storage area would be a good investment.

RE: Windy today

What are your tire pressures set at? Over inflated tires will cause handling problems. Where are you headed on the first trip?

RE: I need a RV mentor

There was a brake recall on the Bosch brakes that are installed on these chassis. You need to find out if that was completed. The calipers wouldn't release and would drag. Have you weighed the coach yet and set the tires pressures to the tire makers recommended pressure for your weight?

RE: I need a RV mentor

I have the same engine/chassis. Did you get any of the maintenance records? The Allison 1000 transmission came with Dexron iii fluid and that needed to be changed every 25,000 miles or two years along with the spin-on transmission fluid filter at the first 5,000 miles. Have the hoses and belts been changed? Plugs and wires?

RE: MH trip to Keys & New Orlean lessons

We've been to New Orleans five times and always had a good time. We especially enjoy Muffuletta sandwiches at Central Grocery and Beignets across the street. There are tours of the places where they build and store the floats plus other city tours and a cable car ride. We always have stayed at the French Quarter Rv Resort. Very nice. As far as the Keys...went there in 1976 and had a nice time. We went back in 2016 and man oh man what a change. Didn't even stay overnight.

RE: F53 tag axle brakes

You may want to buy an IR gun and shoot all the brakes.

Do you have a voltmeter?

RE: Air horn not working

Did it ever work from the steering wheel? My air horns only work from a switch on the center dash, never the steering wheel button.

RE: Car dollies

Remco According to Remco your Dodge must be trailer towed. Usually if you can use a driveline disconnect Remco will tell you that. So apparently disconnecting the driveshaft is not not an option.

RE: Well it was a lot of work...

I've waxed the back of mine twice over the last 14 years. Haven't got to the sides yet....don't want to rush into anything.

RE: Internet Costs

Have you ever seen the movie "The Flim-Flam Man" with George C Scott? I believed it is required viewing to be watched before anyone can be hired in any of the cellphone companies. I've been flim-flammed so many times I don't even look at discounts from them anymore. As Bob Dylan's song said.. "All the Truth in the World adds up to one Big Lie"
