RE: Wanting to upgrade camper

I have a 95 Lance Lite 185s and am wanting to upgrade. I've had this camper for 20+ years and its been a great camper and still is. I'm wanting a 5 cu. ft fridge instead of my 3.0. My rig weighs 2410 loaded except personal gear. I'm looking for something around that weight. I have a 2001 GMC 2500HD SB CC DM. What camper would fit my needs weight wise, don't want to go heavier if possible. https://i.imgur.com/zWKCd5ql.jpg We had your same camper as our first hard sided TC and loved it! We currently have a Lance 650. Similar size with a larger dinette than the 185 had, and larger tanks as well. The day I picked it up I drove straight to a certified scale and the weight as delivered (with full propane) was exactly 2000 pounds. The only options we didn't get were the rear awning, backup camera, swing out entry handle and removable carpet kit. Loaded to the gills (for us) including full fresh water we come in right as 2300 pounds. It still has the 3 cubic foot fridge, but otherwise I think it's worth looking at.

RE: Do you unload when you camp? Really?

It's never occurred to me to unload while out camping. There's no inconvenience for us to just leave it on the whole time and just have it with us when we run around looking at stuff.

RE: Rear View Camera

I've got this one on order and will be giving it a try. It has pretty good reviews, under $150 and 100% wireless. https://www.etrailer.com/Backup-Cameras-and-Alarms/Rear-View-Safety-Inc/RVS-83112.html

RE: Your opinion of the new Truck Camper Online Magazine?

I haven't had a problem with the format, and I do find their camper/gear reviews informative and useful.

RE: Rear of camper sagging

Are you saying the camper itself in the bed of the truck appears to sag or tilt to the rear? Everything in the pic appears to be fairly level. Maybe a direct shot from the side would be better.

RE: Question on Truck Campers

As an experiment you and your wife should see if you can even make it from the truck bed into the truck cab using the sliding rear window.

RE: Wife wants to move to a Class A, or C - bigger

Our campers have ranged from a pop up TC, to a dinette slide out TC to a 24 foot TT and a couple good ‘ol regular hard sided TC’s. We wanted to give a larger TT a shot when the granddaughter lived close by. We ended up having empty drawers, cabinets and storage. I guess we just travel lighter than most. Plus we’re not ones to lounge around inside while out and about. The TT got totaled in a hail storm so we’re back in a TC (should be rolling off the line any day now) sized right for us and the way we travel and camp. Given that every style of RV has some sort of compromise what really matters is whether the rig fits you and the DW’s needs and style of travel and camping. Good luck!

RE: BFG All Terrains KO2 PSI

Mikakuja: I am searching for new tires for my truck. I like the LT285/70R18 size, although there are not a lot of tires in this size. I see you are in Canada. I searched the BFG site for LT285/70R18 and only came up with the “KM2” and not the KO2. Where did you find your LT285/70R18 KO2's? Check out the Nitto EXO Grappler All-Terrain. It comes in 285/70R18. https://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/nitto/exo-grappler-awt/p/tv154000602#

RE: Camper sold... should I remove the Tork Lift barckets?

I've bought and sold tie downs three times over the course of five TC's thinking "I'll never need these again...." My vote would be to just hold onto them just in case.

RE: 19.5 Truck tires

Here's a link, not completely authoritative by any means, but ten years seems like a reasonable expectation given the way you use your tires. https://www.discounttire.com/learn/tire-aging
