RE: Champion generator

... Some people will never admit than anyone but Honda can make a quality gen set. Honda, Yamaha, and Champion all make good gen sets. Make a decision and live with it.They paid more, so they have to justify their purchase by convincing themselves its worth more. X2!! I agree 100%. I think it's this way with a lot of things. If it doesn't have the right name on it how can it be any good? Sold my seldom used Honda before it got stolen, bought a now seldom used Champion 2000. Can't tell the difference except I had more beer money. B.O.

RE: just saw my 1st 2020 F-350's

I once said I'd never own a Ram too; bought the truck in my sig 6 years ago and am a very happy camper. That said, we love our 2001 GMC Yukon too! :B I can promise you that I will never own a Ram or any other Chrysler product. X 2!! I've tried to own one 3 different times and ended up really disappointed with their lack of quality each time. I won't be fooled again. B.O.

RE: 5th wheel tires

Sailun G rated tires are made in China. You will look long and hard to find any complaints about the thousands and thousands of them in use. B.O.

RE: Goodyear Marathon tires class action?

Usually the judgement ends up being millions to attorneys and something like a $10 certificate towards new same-brand tires for the plainifs. That's the truth except the $10 figure is too high. Ambulance chasers get rich, you get a certificate for a free Dairy Queen. B.O.

RE: Prepping RV for private sale

Used newer RVs are hard enough to sell. Make sure that it's perfect and be prepared to lose your shorts on it or it won't sell at all. New ones can be had for 30-35% off manufactures list price if you haggle, plus they are easier to finance. Keep all of this in mind, that's your competition. B.O.

RE: Discount on fuel if paying with cash??

In the grand scheme of things if it's that important to save a few dollars vs the convenience of stopping where you want, maybe you can't afford this trip. Just sayin. B.O.

RE: 5th Wheel Alignment & Lippert Correct Track

I have experience with it. All the Correct Track system will do is allow you to make sure the axles are parallel with each other and perpendicular to the center-line of the trailer. The system can do nothing about caster, camber or toe. If you have a bent axle or spindle, the only solution is either bending the axle or replacing the axle/spindle unit. Rob They no longer install them from the factory. The add on units extend your spring hangers and make it easier to break one as they generate more leverage. There are three factors used to align an RV. Correct Track only deals with one of them. The alignment shop that did my last trailer doesn't use them they leave them alone and just move everything like they always do. My opinion is that it is another gimmick that makes you think you are getting something for your money. My understanding was that a dealer would charge around $100.00 to check your "alignment" then charge more to adjust it. A proper wheel alignment at a RV suspension shop cost me $200.00 and it adjusted all three factors tracking, plus camber and toe. B.O.

RE: Ideas wanted to secure non fixed kitchen island

If the rv has more storage just get rid of it . If you need the cabinets/drawers then like already said, screw it down. X2 B.O.

RE: Near Brownsville, Texas

I can't for the life of me see the attraction to the RGV area. Went there once for a month. It was warm and it was cheap. That's all. No reason to ever go back. WalMart in Edinburg had a full time roaming security guard driving around the parking lot all day in an old cop car. Many homes had bars on the windows and doors. Loved the portable camera towers that would be moved around to various parking lots to monitor the area. No thank you, there are too many nice places to go to. B.O.

Time to lawyer up so you do it legally. It might not be that easy. Good luck. B.O.

RE: landing gear

Are the legs lubricated and in good condition? It should be fairly easy to crank. I'd look a little deeper. B.O.

RE: Flying J and Pilot moving toward B20 diesel?

...NOT supposed to run any bio of any percentage in the system (or so Ford tells me). Never Ford diesels are certified for up B20. Just checked the manual for my 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 HD and that on page 47 of the 2019 Duramax Diesel Supplement they state "Do not use a diesel blend containing more than 20% biodiesel by volume" So it appears that B20 is acceptable. I will stop by my local GMC dealer and check with a real person to make sure that the truck can actually run on B20 with out issues. I spent years working at Gm dealerships. I can assure you that most people working there don't know squat. Call GM Customer Service if you want the correct answer. B.O.

RE: Upgrading Brakes Question

Oem pads are often the culmination of many versions tested by the factory. It's pretty hard to beat the perfomance and longevity of OEM. Just my opinion. B.O.

RE: It’s that time have some fun

Spent a month in Edenburg TX. Park was friendly and cheap. Nothing in that area will get me to go back..... No scenery, Never felt very safe. B.O. Scenery = World Birding Centers, State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, National Butterfly Center, Historic Sites, Rio Grande River, Ranch Land, South Padre Island & Mexico. "Never felt very safe" --- Our 17th Season and we have never felt unsafe and pretty much go everywhere except Renosa. To each his/her own. I don't see bars on the windows on the houses in my neighborhood like I have seen there. Drove all over the area, went to So. Padre, nothing there for me. Glad you like it. I've moved on. B.O.

Spent a month in Edenburg TX. Park was friendly and cheap. Nothing in that area will get me to go back. No scenery, tons of poverty, never been anywhere that had a roaming security guard in the WalMart parking lot all day like they do there. Never felt very safe. It's a good place if you want to buy used tires. They are for sale everywhere. Need more than cheap prices and warm weather to make me want to go there. B.O.

RE: Nice find TV

I was thinking more like $5,000. Nothing there I would want especially with that weak 6.0 engine. That's going to be around awhile. B.O.

RE: No more full size cars from GM

We were looking at sedans recently but found them too low and too hard to get in and out of. We bought a Toyota Highlander SUV and problem solved. Sold all three of our cars last Summer. All of them were in very nice shape but they were just too hard to get in and out of anymore. Replaced them with a new Toyota Highlander also. Very, very happy with our decision. Plus it has a lot of safety features we didn't have before like blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, backup camera and more. Rides better than our old Grand Marquis, gets better mileage, more comfortable seats, more interior room, better visibility, more power. Should have done this years ago. B.O.

RE: Upholstery needs to be redone

Any decent upholstery shop can do the job. It will save you money if you take it out and bring them the pieces. Much less than buying new and you will know what you are getting. B.O.

RE: Bunk model 5th wheel

Look at some toyhaulers. They have beds that fold down inside the garage to make it a second bedroom. Many have a second bath also. B.O.

RE: Flip Phone

We're in our mid 70s. Have a flip phone provided by one of our kids as part of their plan, also have a smart phone provided by the other kid as part of their pln. 99% of the time we use the flip phone. Easy to figure out and remember. Ours is with AT%T. We also still use a landline. Not interetsed in learning how to use anything more complicated. B.O.
