RE: Cummins Onan P2500I Inverter Portable Generator

Doubt very much it's designed and built by Onan. Another Chinese knock off. B.O.

Full-time and don't/didn't like it?

We stay in our trailer for 4+ months every year. During that time we have met many people who call themselves full-timers. Some live in their trailers year around in the same place others travel around. None of this appeals to us and we frequently get asked about when we are going to do this. My question is, are there many who try full-timing and don't or didn't like it? Surely we can't be the only people that have no interest in this lifestyle. B.O.

RE: Need Wiring Diagram-Super Slide Side-2004 Fleetwood Bounder

Send an email to Fleetwood with your request - they'll need your VIN and your FIN and you'll receive a complete set of schematics by return email. The Fleetwood that built that RV has been out of business for several years. The new Fleetwood won't have anything to do with it. B.O.

RE: Electric black tank dump valve. Worth it?

I have visions of the valve shorting out and opening while rolling down the road. And, of course, there will be a police car behind you when it happens. :E That's why it is required by law to have a cap on the end of the pipe. B.O.

RE: Ground Control 3.0

Considering most of the weight is on the wheels, the actual load on those front jacks isn't that high. Thousands of trailers have them and yes they do require some maintenance. They don't cost a lot and are easy to change. B.O. This is their auto leveling system where the two front legs work independently of each other. Depending on how level the site is, they will take some weight of off the tires sometimes. I don't consider $450.00 per legs cheap and that was the best price I could find on them. I had to buy the entire assembly which includes motor and gearbox. I don't trust them now and will return to putting boards under the tires to level side to side before hitting the auto level. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the auto level. There is nowhere to get grease in them without taking them off and disassembling them. That's why I'm thinking of drilling the hole and at least getting some grease on the gear above the leg that extends. Whoa! They look just like the standard electric leveling jacks that many RVs have. They have a screw jack inside just like those. Might be worth comparing them. B.O.

Call the Governor??? Get real. The rules were laid out. Lick your wounds, get on with your life. I'm in an RV park right now, life here is just fine. No different than if I was at my house. B.O.

RE: Roof inspection.

I'd call rv shops and quiz them and hope to find one that will do an honest/good job. You don't need to get up there but they can show you cell phone pictures so you can verify what they say needs done and also see their finished work. Craig Good idea. I can do that. B.O.

Roof inspection.

Have never been on my roof. Have no plans to ever get up there. I'm almost 75 years old, balance isn't great and I've always been a big guy. I would like to have it inspected and have the caulk touched up if it needs it. I don't want some opportunist to take advantage of me and tell me I need a complete strip it all off and re-do it thing. I have always had them touched up in the past and it's worked well. At this time I don't have or know anyone that will do this. What are your suggestions? Not having any problems right now but don't want any either. B.O.

RE: Buy Now or Wait on the Crazyness to Subside??

A lot of the dealers around the southern Michigan area are advertising 0% financing for up to 60 months. Might as well use their money for free to get one instead of depleting my own cash. Sure wish I was in the market for a new truck! :W Barney But in lieu of their 0% you can usually get a decent sized discount instead. Check with your credit union, mine is at 2.99%. Run the numbers you might come out better. There is no free lunch, everything costs something. B.O.

RE: 255rlds wilderness advantage

it would be unusual that both relays would be bad. Trace the wiring from the battery to the area near the pump if they are hydraulic. Be sure the battery is charged. The convertor may not produce enough power to run them without a good battery. B.O.

RE: Is SHE GONNA BLOW!

Had a 2010 Ram/Cummins. It was good at first then it turned into a well, a Chrysler product. Got real tired of going to the dealer for recalls, big ones like steering linkage and they never had the parts. Last time in it was a fuel pressure sensor, my nickel. Trade it 3 days later on a 2015 Chev/Duramax. Never looked back. Chevrolet has been almost flawless to this point (86,000 miles). If I can Mom into it I will buy another. B.O.

I'm staying until May just like I originally planned. Still cold up North. Maybe by then I will have had the virus and getting better. Who knows? B.O.

RE: Weak Brakes

On my last trailer they never worked well. Checked and all of them were grease covered since new. Replaced all four backing plates complete along with the grease seals. Adjusted them up and tried tem out. Still didn't work well. I did some reading on the Dexter site and explained how to burnish them. Did about 20 stops to seat them in and burnish them. Unbelievable difference! I reommend that to everyone. B.O.

RE: Scratches on gel-coat surface

My thoughts and concerns, exactly!...on all the replies. Thank you! I wasn't sure about the gel coat. Didn't know if it was special and needed special care and products. One thing I forgot to mention is; When I bought the camper new, I paid for the magical sealant they put on it...or said they did. Great sales effort but probably a waste of my money. I'll start out by trying a polishing compound and microfiber cloth I've used on my cars in the past. I normally put good products on my cars so they should work fine. Again, thanks for the advice! Look at the paperwork for that 'Magic Polish" they overcharged you for. If they are still in business you may have some recourse. Usually they won't fix anything, but you might get a partial refund. RE: Fair Price 2019 Artic Fox 275L

Looks to me like around $90k is what it's going to take to own the whole package. 55 might be a little light on the truck. The list on one of them new is in the 80s. The trailer is worth around 35-40 in my neck of the woods. B.O.
