RE: Flag pole buddy

Sorry I had trouble doing a link but it’s the flag pole buddy 1.5 or 2.0 mounting brackets. Was wondering if it’s strong enough for a pole with a satellite dish mounted to it going down the road. never. It's plastic, the pole can bounce up and down, the antennae is heavy in comparison. Don't even think of this.

Never have. Why take a chance with the little bit of water you actually use for drinking.

RE: Oklahoma Is OK

May is Tornado season in Oklahoma. I live here and it’s really the last place I want to be in May. I agree. I have to drive through there on the way north. Timing is everything. I've missed a couple of "big ones" by only a day or two. I like OK but no thank you, I won't be staying.

RE: Arizona RV licensing

Move to Wisconsin. I just paid $15 my TT plates for a year. My motorcycle is $23 for 2 years. My F150 is $106 per year. These prices are for that type of vehicle no matter how old or current or new value.
I read what you people are paying and I just about vaporlock. And your property tax and State (many States have none) income tax is how much? No free rides wherever you are.

RE: Crash Guards on Towed

Many, perhaps most of those crash guards can do more damage than they prevent. Often they will go through the radiator and coolers when something is hit. Those on the heavier trucks help but to put one of that thickness and design on a unibody vehicle would be of questionable value. JMHO.

RE: How much off MSRP now?

Shoot them an offer. Keep in mind they can only go so low. I would thing 40% off would be bottom line depending on how much they have in it.

RE: Problems with past RV Parks you've stayed at?

I've seen it all. Trees not trimmed, barking dogs, dog poop, cutting through my site, loud parties, management not enforcing rules, loud exhaust. Come to think of it, what the heck am I doing this for. Much nicer if I just stay home.

RE: Average monthly rates?

Rio Grande Valley South Texas, for a 3 to 5 months stay it can be as low as $200 a month and as high as $900 a month for the deluxe places. Plus actual electricity use. I would say the average is 350 to 550 a month plus electricity.
There are some even cheaper if someone simply wants a spot with full hookups. As low as $150/month in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I pay an annual rate of $1,995 which lets me keep a home base when traveling. And you will also find you get what you pay for. If you want a decent place almost anywhere it will be at least what you pay during the Summer.

RE: Extended warranty. What are your thoughts

I can understand why a Dodge service manager would recommend one. I USED to own a Ram. If you have a Ford or Chev, probably not. For what they charge there isn't much you can't fix for less than the price of a service contract. If you MUST buy one go with the one supported by the factory not some company you never heard of.

RE: Westlake tires

I run G rated Westlakes on my Cedar Creek. No problems so far knock on wood. On my 5th year with them. They hold even tire pressure, wear evenly and no bulges. I will replace them with Sailuns only because of their stellar reputation but overall I'm satisfied with them.

M2s that we had when I worked always seemed to have issues with the turn signal switch. Goes with the Chrysler ownership I think.

RE: Correct size

The sizes may vary. My trailer has what they called a king size bed. No mention of anything special. I measured it then bought a standar king to replace it. I had to add 2 inches to each side of my frame but the length was the same. If you buy one of the popular foam matresses in a box, you can remove the cloth cover and cut it to any size you want with an electric knife. then reinstall the cloth cover. Much cheaper than ordering a special size.

RE: Water pump warning... a little long but may be worth it

Go to a hardware store or auto parts store and get the same O-rings for about 10 cents each. Just bring in an ols one and match it up. Wouldn't hurt to get a couple spares.

RE: Winter Front Cover for Ram Diesels

I used one when it was below zero. It helped my engine to warm up faster and put out more consistant heat. 45 degrees? Waste of time and might even cause overheating. I quit using mine after a season or two.

RE: 12V heater run straight from solar panel

A 1500 watt heater will produce 5,280 BTUs of heat. Going to need a lot of solar and small electric heaters to get to this point.
