RE: Beach trip width=640 width=640 width=640 width=640 A few more pictures from our trip. Weather wasn't always sunny. We had a couple of days with 25 - 30 mph and rain. Helps YOU appreciated the nice weather days. Hoping my pictures post. It's a toss up using photobucket. It's the easiest for me to post pictures when it cooperates. Barry *Resized by adding width=640 to the image

RE: Beach trip

Thanks for the advice, it's a lot of work when I get home. Sand finds its way to every hidden area. I put an oscillating sprinkler under the belly and move it a couple feet till I feel it is cleaned. Takes three hours or so. It's the same amount of work for two nights or 14. I stayed 14 nights, can't wait for the next adventure. My truck is an 06, it has been on the beach every year. I had the under carriage undercoated before this trip. It is the second time since new. Trying my best to care of my equipment. Barry

RE: Beach trip

Jerry, we fish from the surf. I enjoy it much more than in a boat. The bite was a little slow but that's ok, it's not all about the catching. We had plenty to keep us fed. Nothing compares to cooking your catch with sand between your toes. Barry

RE: The Ghost

Thank you Joe, I really appreciate you fixing my pictures. You would think that as old as I am I could post a simple picture. Thanks again Barry

The Ghost width=640 The Ghost made its first trip to beach on hatteras island. We learned a lot about our new set up while there. width=640 We were finally able to get our winegard router up and running while on this trip. It took a long time to get our SIM card from Verizon. width=640 Maggie, our English shepherd made her first trip and had a great time. width=640 We stayed at capepoint campground, they have a dump station and no other services. The Ghost was right at home with only the sun and 60% fresh water. I hope the pics uploaded, I've had trouble with photobucket lately. What do you all think of the name for our new Host? Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

Hey Warren, today is the day. Send us some pictures of your new truck and Everest. We know how excited you are for your new camper. Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

Congratulations on your new Everest. You will love it. I will advise you to do a detailed walk thru. I had three small issues, bathroom door, privacy curtain, hatch over bed. These were all exposed the first day of ownership. I have emailed and called since we returned home. I have yet to receive parts for repairs. So frustrating to spend the money we did to get the run around for such small issues. I'm happy with our camper, just not the warranty service. Take care Barry

RE: Where have all the Everests Gone

Warren, I know by now you are past ready to get your camper. I was like you watching all the Host YouTube videos I could find. We are enjoying our Cascade and we have no regrets for the long wait. You will enjoy your Everest when you finally get it and the long wait will be a thing of the past. Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

Glad you are almost there, my dealer was scarce on info of when my camper would arrive. I had to talk with Host for information like that. Wish I had picked mine up in Oregon. You are gonna love your camper for sure. Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate This is a photo in Destin Florida. Such a beautiful place. White sand is spectacular. From here we stopped in Brunswick Georgia and weathered a mighty thunderstorm. Our last night before home was Fayetteville NC. We are home and safe after many many miles. I loved every mile, hoping this will not be our last cross country trip. Thanks to all that followed us and wished us well. Time to end this thread, so I will put this one to sleep. Thanks all, Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

We have ended up today in Beaumont Texas. Nothing special, just a lot of traffic thru San Antonio and Houston. We are next door to Gator country. Looking forward to trying some crawfish for the first time. Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

We spent a couple nights here in Junction, Texas. We are glad we picked this quiet place. We found some good bbq at Cooper's bbq. We hit the road tomorrow in hopes of making a few more miles towards NC Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

Today was a travel day that ended up getting us to Van Horn Texas. My truck is handling the cascade really well. I cannot tell the difference in it and the snow river before it. Snow River was 12.6, the cascade 13._4 in height. That is something I will always be conscious of. Our cascade is set up with the L shaped dinet with the two reclining chairs. They are very comfortable for my wife and I. Bed area has a window on the driver's side and a wardrobe on the passenger side. I wasn't sure about that when I ordered but it has turned out to be useful. Sitting room in the over head is a non issue for us as we are both around 5'8". My phone does not always print what I type. I just need to proof read my responses. I am a slow keyboard pecker. It probably took me a bit over ten minutes to compose today's post Barry

NCMike, yes, permits for cape lookout this year. We will be there for the fall fishing tournament. I'm really looking forward to putting the new camper on the beach. Stop by and introduce yourself, always great to meet new friends. Barry

RE: Delays in camper buiddate

Thanks, I'm not very good at trip reports but really enjoy and appreciate others that report so professionally. Last thing I ever want do her is to offend anyone. This trip has been great so far and only gets better with each mile we travel. Untill you drive across this US you really can't appreciate the vastness and beauty of our country. We are heading east on interstate 10 still cold but no ice and snow, 25f this morning Barry
