RE: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?

You have to buy GS road assistance seoarately, we found that Coach Net is the best. On this small rig we are going with our Geico towing but for a bigger rig, evem though all insurers use the same pool of tow providors, Coach Net is picky.

RE: Class C Pros and Cons

DH got tired of maintaining a pusher and we sold it. I wanted something to take the grands camping so bought a former rental W/O a slide and with an overhead bunk. Depends on what kind of camping you want to do, we have gone to Nova Scotia with out a toad and had no problems with parking, We have also done shorter trips and our 350 has no problem towing a 4000 lb Vue. We have had popups, trailers, and a number of MH's but I went to a small Class C because of the generator. It's nice to stop at a rest stop and have air while eating lunch. 5 years ago the license for a Class A was 80 dollars a year and now our small Class C is 125 a year so with insurance and maintenance a MH is more expensive than a trailer. Depends on how much you will be using it. We used ours 15 days this year and it cost about 120 dollars a night plus campground fees. This was only counting ins, license, inspection and oil changes. Good Luck

Buy a refurbished, they are required to see that your brakes and everything else works, extended warrenties only pay for what they list and tires, brakes, etc are maintenance items. 3700 is a lot of money.

RE: Reflectix on window, long-term?

We were told not to use Reflectix on our park model in FL over the summer as it would possibly break the seals on the dual pane glass and void the warrenty. We use heavy cardboard but behind the bed for your use, maybe foam board sprayed black on the outside.

RE: How many miles a day can we go?

With kids plan on 350 t0 400 so they can play at rest stops and campground also taking time to stop and eat in your MH. That would be 8-9 hours. You will make good time from FL with 70 mile per hour but slower going around the cities further north. We do 500 but wouldn't with kids

RE: Replacement for Onan 4000

Our 4000 is 8 years old, we exercise it in the summer when we are here and run stabile through it for the 4 or 5 months we are away.We have had Onans for 21 years and never had a problem with any of them.
