RE: Ram overtakes GM

Forum issues prevent me from seeing the first page but I found this. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/10/gm-truck-sales-outpace-ford-and-ram-in-q3-2019/ Finally a FAIR way for deciding truck sales. But, but but, bbbb - bbbbbbbbbbut that's not fair. Two different brands. Does it even matter since the thread has degenerated into tires, rust and IL winters, Mexico and Italy, and somehow even Ford is in the mix. Great entertainment though LOL.

RE: Chevy, Ford... going into electric trucks.

Apparently McDonalds is getting into the charging business! https://evannex.com/blogs/news/mcdonalds-wants-to-charge-your-electric-car LOL, makes sense so they can sell burgers too when EV owners come charging. But I bet they'll not install quick superchargers. I wonder if the electricity will flush out the innards of your batteries like the food flushes out your innards?

RE: What do you want in a campground?

Some of your responses where you state all the things we all dislike really aren't all that cute. And some folks on this board have no sense of humor whatsoever, but who is counting?

RE: What do you want in a campground?

I'd like the next site to be so close my awning rubs the occupants trailer when the wind blows, lots of lights left on all night including jumpers in 7 ways to turn on running lights, lots of concrete, and maybe a few dogs left alone all day in rigs that bark continuously at every noise they hear, or everything they see. That would be perfect. Perhaps a golf cart screaming by every 15 seconds too, but don't want to get greedy. Could I also get 4 or 5 bucket lights strung up in the only tree on the property? HAHAHAHA I have experienced all of those things on more than one occasion. I'd like to add that I'm quite fond of campground roads that are no wider than your rv and lined with trucks and cars so you can't possibly back into your site. Another nice touch is the neighbor that invites 50 people for a party, a dozen vehicles show up and park all over the place and kegs of beer roll out of the bed of a couple of the pickups that arrive. Oh how much we love that. We always hope we get to camp next to where these things are occurring. AWESOME experiences! Hey, I know of a KOA back home that is located in a valley and across a river which is maybe 100 yds wide from the CSX double track main. You get a roaring freight train going by about every 15-20 minutes, 24/7. It's extra special, you should try it, if you like trains. (Interestingly lots of folks think its the greatest, packed every weekend)

RE: Toyota Highlander and 26' Trailer

I don't question what other neighbor campers are using to tow whatever it is they have parked into their site... I figure, they got here and all the kids and dogs seem happy and loud, so there you go! ha, ha! Mitch https://i.imgur.com/XG8H0uzm.jpg?1 Exactly. Not everyone is a candyass busy body with a PHD in towing dynamics like some on these boards. OH THE HUMANITY

RE: Beef up (fish plate) “I” beam frame

Well you all have convinced me to do this. I will use 3/16 plate 12 feet long min. I’ll jack the back end up a hair if need be to true it up. Thanks for your comments. Be sure to skip weld it! Chris You do mean stitch weld it :) I'd be careful doing that skip welding, might not want to broadcast you've done it.. I am pretty sure Lippert holds the rights to that skip welding.

RE: Biggest unit you know of under 3,500 pounds ???

Some of you folks need to retire from the weight police. OP, tell your friend to join and then talk to some of the folks at the Ridgeline owners forum, folks who have actually owned one, and towed trailers with one. They make plenty of trailers that a Ridgeline is capable of towing, as opposed to running out and trading it in on an F450. https://i.imgur.com/li2QO3Wl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hylqzCol.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rRjishxl.jpg

RE: AT&T TV

We live about 35 miles from Hartford ct and AT&T doesn't offer DSL in our area and they don't have cell service here yet so we can't get TV unless we get directv with a dish. So much for the bundle. Amazing isn't it? 35 miles from one of the most densely populated areas of the US, and no streaming for you. Where is timmac?

Anyone here trying out the new AT&T TV bundle? Have at it. Stop back and tell us about the bundle of cash it cost you in the long run.

RE: Outside Plugs

Nothing I’d worry about personally. How bout it? Maybe put it on the worry list after checking the torque of the caps on your valve stems lol.

RE: GM Strike

So you see nothing wrong with Making $15 an hour to assemble autos? Domino's Pizza pays $15hr to deliver pizza in these parts and you also get tips.It is a free country. Let those that want to deliver pizza do their thing and those that want to assemble autos do their thing. Top chef for Dominos and the automotive engineers are the one's that will pull down the real money. Time to go back to school. 2008 GM CEO $14.9 million 2009 UAW worker $28hr. 2019 GM CEO $21.87 million 2019 UAW worker $30hr.And what does the CEO of Dominos make? Yes I also believe executive pay is excessive on its own and outrageous compared to the line workers in just about every company. Maybe the union should press for lower CEO and executive pay along with the line workers negotiation. And what does the Union CEO make BTW? https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/ceo-who-raised-minimum-salary-of-employees-to-70k-is-doing-it-again/ LOL....Dominos has about 811 million in revenue and their CEO gets compensated in the neighborhood of 9.5 million. GM has revenue of about 147 billion, and poor Mary slums along with 21 million. I smell a Rat. Mary should get a few million bonus simply based on the firmness of her calves and her selection of heels.

Are you sure what you call rear frame sag is not frame camber by design? Perhaps a call to Cedar Creek or Lippert is in order? If you start jacking out camber designed in and holding it by welding in flitch plates or stiffeners, you may create issues you currently do not have.

RE: The kid meets the furnace thermostat...

One more question on these digital battery powered units... Say its deep winter time... your not home (RV home)... The little AA battery croaks...? It will stop working. Put a new one in the fall. They typically last a few years before needing changed, and probably will have a low battery indicator regardless.

RE: GM Strike

Autoworkers feel EV’s will be job killers. https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/auto-workers-fear-evs-will-be-job-killers That is pretty interesting. I wonder if the temp employer thing they say they are holding out for is just a ruse, and they are really holding to stop EV's. After all, the temp worker thing has been around for decades and could have been a point for previous contract negotiations, but never was. Why is it now? Stopping EV’s wouldn’t make any sense. The market for non EV’s is going to continue to shrink. Being an employee of a company with an ever shrinking market would be more scary than being an employee that is downsizing for modernization reasons. Have you ever been downsized out of a job? I was downsized out of the steel industry in the early 80's, after wasting close to 10 years. Granted the company started by driving the nails and pounding on them for years prior, but the USW played a large role in driving them home. It was no picnic and there is an entire valley 30 miles long in western PA where I grew up where tens of thousands of people / families, and dozens of towns, were totally decimated financially. A lot of those areas are still depressed 40 years later. It's easy to comment on forums regarding things one never experienced. Bert Many of my family members were a part of all of that in the early 80's...the mon valley area both steel and rail industry alone employed more people in the 60' and 70's early 80s than are left here in the area today. The area had never recouped from it and never will. ET, Irvin, and Clairton are the only mills still running today and not at a 1/10 of the capacity they were years ago. Hopefully you made it out ok and lived a prosperous life after that. I have a close cousin who has about 25 in at Clairton. He was telling me last Xmas he does not see making it past the next contract negotiation. Also the County, State, and Fed are all on them heavy for environmental issues. No biggie. Those guys can always go get a job at Dollar General or Tree, plenty of those around. If Clairton goes, next goes ET, if ET goes, next goes Irvin. Deja Vu.

RE: Beef up (fish plate) “I” beam frame

Lippert produces EXACTLY what most manufacturers want plain and simple "light and cheap" !!! Now my Mobile Suites Lippert frame is hell for stout because it was designed to meet DRV's specs. I know of two people who own DRVs, one a camp host who I know like a brother, and both have been back to the DRV factory more than once for frame issues up at the front.

RE: Beef up (fish plate) “I” beam frame

The manufacturers know exactly what LCI is engineering and chooses to accept it. They accept it because all the liability is on LCI, and they're cheap, which goes straight to the bottom line. When something fails its on LCI's nickel, not the manufacturer, even if the manufacturer gets involved which they don't have to, and most could care less.
