RE: The perfect RV campground

Hah!! We are actually in this picture. Top row, far left. The draw? It’s in the heart of Ohio Amish/Mennonite country. We stayed 3 mos last summer. I agree the layout is practical but I wish there was 4-5 more feet between rigs. Also a few tight corners. Hope we can go back this summer.

RE: What does having an appointment mean?

Depends what needs done. Did they have to order parts? I use Robbins RV and they do a good job communicating and keeping me informed.

RE: Small Window AC vs Roof Top Air

Another vote for the thru wall. Can’t beat simple. Roof air could cost $700 to replace.

RE: 2004 Bounder New To Us Has Issues We Need Help With

Is it a gas or a diesel? I ask as I have 05 DP. Assuming DP, is the battery switch on? It’s by the front door on the EMS panel. Chassis batteries charged?

RE: Is a tandem axle cargo trailer worth the extra $ over single

I think single axels are easier to back. Statistically, you are more likely to have tire issues with tandems.

RE: General Question About Routers

No problem. So you are looking for a mobile hotspot. ATT DOES call theirs a mobile hotspot router. You can usually use your smart phone as hotspot. We opt for a separate device as if one of us goes somewhere the hotspot is still there. Shop, shop shop. I use OTR Mobile hotspot. It used to be $60/mo unlimited data, no throttling, no contract. It use yo use ATT I ne’er stand they switch to T Mobile. Verizon, ATT, all the cell providers offer various plans. Some are limited, throttle at certain data levels. You have to decide what kind of a user you are; do you want to stream movies or just check emails. You can also add a cell signal antenna booster for more speed and a better signal. Good luck.

RE: General Question About Routers

Are you talking about a cellular solution for internet or an internet connection via cable, like Century Link or Comcast?

RE: Fresh water tank flows out drain hose

Does it stop? If it’s the overflow drain it will drain if it’s over filled or you park on an incline. Or a drain valve was left open from winterization? Need more info.

RE: 1984 Revcon!!!!! Garbage or decent?

Do you want a hobby or an RV? Do you love rebuilding old things you can’t buy parts for anymore? Not much storage, small bathroom/shower. Maybe wet shower. They have a cult like following but I don’t want to spend that much time working on the RV.

RE: Park & Campground Closures

16,000 die of the flu BUT WE HAVE A VACCINE!! I hear people say “Oh it’s just a flu”. Do we want to add another 15K to God knows how many more deaths per year? We need time to figure it out and get a vaccine.

RE: Park & Campground Closures

The other consideration is that as more folks are sickened and recover from this, people will return to "normal" activities because they are now immune to the disease. There will be a certain degree of herd mentality making others feel pressured, or that it is now ok to go out as well. Self isolation is going to be a personal decision, and the decision as to when you resume a more normal lifestyle is going to be tough for many to determine. FWIW Virginia state parks are staying open, at least for now. If they do return to normal activities after recovering from the virus they can still carry and infect others. At least from what I’m reading.

RE: Census Question

I just completed ours. It wants to know where you will be residing on April 1, 2020. Correct.

RE: The Coronavirus

About 40K die on our roads every year. About the same die in hospitals every year of stuff THEY CONTRACT IN THE HOSPITAL! I will NOT be attending Burning Man or Woodstock this year.

RE: What can I use to get water out of a gas tank

Get a small gas engine eg lawn mower, edger, etc. connect the muffler to a small flex pipe. Flex conduit is fine. Secure it into the opening of the tank. Start motor. Weld. The CO from the motor pushes the o2 out so no explosion. Seen it done many times at the welding shop near where I grew up.

RE: Quick review on: Flow-Rite RV2000 Pro-Fill RV Edition

Thanks for the link. I hadn’t looked in a while. Not only were mine hard to inspect/fill due to space limitations, a few required taking cables off to get to. I took cables off, installed the Pro Fill then re installed over it.

RE: Quick review on: Flow-Rite RV2000 Pro-Fill RV Edition

It meant the difference between filling them monthly vs never. My criticism is that bulb cracks and fails too often and I haven’t found a cheap one. I’m on my third or fourth one.

RE: QAV Wi-Fi Booster - Anyone use one?

No they don’t give them away. My DW can work a few half days online a week and make some bucks. I probably would not have bought it otherwise but I’m glad I did. I had no idea it would mean the difference between barely loading Facebook vs streaming HD movies. Plus I could prolly sell it for half of what I spent.

RE: 1995 holiday rambler vacationer 33.6 foot

I had a 97. If I remember you connect the hose and there is a city/tank valve you flip to fill tank or point at city. Shouldn’t need pump when connected. If it was winterized you may need to flip a valve by your hot water heater.
