RE: Diverticulitis

Perhaps try medical marijuana. You can take gel caps. I agree on losing the Oxys.

RE: Dish Hardware

The Winegard batwing paired with the Sensar Pro amp/peaking feature is the best combo out there.

RE: Older MH mpg with diesel

My 2005 Expedition CAT C7. It gets around 7-8. 62-63. MPG is one of the last things to worry about.

RE: Honda 3000 Problem

Boy, some people are stubborn. You can absolutely buy e free fuel all over Florida. 103 Octane fuel too. Yes it costs more. So a huge company like Racetrac and WAWA go to the expense of putting a separate tank in and dedicate a pump for E free fuel next to all their other pumps and then put Egas in it? E free gas clicks.

RE: Honda 3000 Problem

Most airports and marinas sell e free gas. Our Race Tracs sell e free gas for boats in Fl. NOPE, not "everywhere". PA, you NEED to have a legit FAA TAIL NUMBER in order to purchase "AV" fuel from an airport. For racing fuel, you NEED to own a race car AND have a valid PIT ticket for that day.. Don't know of ANY "Marinas" selling anything other than adulterated gas with alcohol in PA.. Hate to break it to you but you have been duped to believe that you are purchasing E free fuel, Ethanol has been mixed in the fuel supply before the 1970s, in the 1970s it was touted as the savior to the gas crisis as "Gasahol" at a higher cost, didn't sell so eventually it was FORCED onto the public via EPA in the name of clean air.. The reality is Ethanol is not the problem with most engines, it is DIRT in the fuel system which clogs off the small jet passages.. Honda carb design is highly prone to clogging in the main jet, pretty much not only Honda has this problem but any Honda clone which uses the same Honda carb design.. But I highly doubt that this is the issue with the OPs gen, clogged main jet symptom is the engine will not run without the choke partially or full on. Water in fuel bowl due to E fuel is a reality, but give the gen a good shake and the water will recombine.. Or just dumpt the fuel bowl and try again, but this does not seem to fit the OPs issue since they CAN get it to start and they CAN get it start to run their A/C but it no longer will continue to operate their A/C reliably.. They NEED to check the current draw of the A/C while running, as the A/C gets hot, it will draw higher amperage.. The shore power can support that under normal circumstances but with a gen that is sized a bit small it may not have enough ummp to continue on with a full load attached.. They also may need to try turning off EVERYTHING in the RV, converter, waterheater element, switch fridge to gas, many, many reasons as to why the gen is no longer running the A/C.. They are also talking a 12 yr old gen, silly things like AVR failure, rotor failure, shorted stator, worn out plug, weak spark and plenty more can also cause the same symptoms.. So all these places that have a big sign that says “Ethanol Free Gas” are lying? And the airport sells gasoline in addition to Av gas. And it’s not the carb that dislikes E gas, it’s the rubber. Ethanol melts the fuel lines and diaphragms. My son has a landscaping business. They use premix e free fuel at twice the price for all their wackers and blowers. Because in the long run it’s cheaper.

RE: Cost to install apparatus for Flat-towing

Been made aware of another issue I need to address... my current Ford Edge has LED brake lights & signals, and I've been told they're difficult to wire to a typical wiring harness. If that's the case, what about alternatives? I wired in a set of mag lights. Harbor Freight $10.

RE: Louisiana wetlands drives

I agree with staying around Breaux Bridge we like Poches Fish and Camp but there are several nice campgrounds. Can’t miss New Iberia Shadows on the Teche, Tabasco Factory and lots of places to eat. God prices too. Try Prejeans. We have done NOLA many times but probably won’t go back anymore.

RE: N. Ga to Bar Harbor

We have been back and forth to ME from FL several times. First time 95 all the way. NEVER AGAIN. 81 to “top of the 80s” however you wNt to Lake George area. Then take one of the East west state roads like 2 or 3 to the East. Avoid NYC, Boston, Hartford etc.

RE: Correctly installing a 12v power meter after coach master

At the risk of sounding obvious and stupid; dvms measure the voltage of what their attached to. If you connect it to the battery then you measure the battery. If you connect it to a fuse panel inside the RV then you’re measuring the volts after lots of connections and other loads. No right or wrong. It just depends on what you are trying to measure.

RE: External Antenna for iphone

I use a Weboost RV the one with the ext pole with antenna and a internal antenna that covers most of the RV for multiple devices. It works great. Many times I have had zero to 1 bars, data speed test showed .5-1 mbs before booking up the antenna. After the Webost is up I see 5-10’MBS. Worth every nom penny.

I think the mpg on efi rvs is pretty good considering. I drove big block carbureted 80’s trucks and vans that never broke 10 mpg. EMPTY.

RE: Satellite TV .....pros/cons? Tired of tv infomercials!!

Another aspect to throttling on “Unlimited” plans: I have a senior unlimited plan under Verizon. Yet sometimes I get throttled. I called V to ask why. The answer was that I wasn’t throttled due to maxxing out my plan, I was throttled so that higher tier plans didn’t slow down during peak traffic on the tower. He suggested waiting. Sure enough, a few minutes after 5:00 I got my speed back. That’s when I bought an ATT hotspot puck and plan.

RE: Harbor Freight Predator 3500W question

A tad off topic. I bought a Champion 3100 w remote start online at Walmart this week for $650 delivered. It also happens to be Hurricane prep Tax free week in Fl so no sales tax.

RE: Satellite TV .....pros/cons? Tired of tv infomercials!!

Your old crank up directional antenna is a few times better than the Omni direction al ones they put out today. My recommendation for a sat system would be a Winegard Pathway X2 auto align carryout dome. Buy a 211z or Wally off Amazon. This is for DISH. Then you can buy a month at a time or do a contract. You can add USB hard drive for a basic DVR function to avoid commercials.

RE: Good Wi Fi for RV: Is it Possible?

The other fact about campground wifi I’ve found is that a few campgrounds DO have adequate to good wifi. Tengo, etc and it $40-$60 a month. Might as well buy a hotspot.

RE: Good Wi Fi for RV: Is it Possible?

I have the same concerns. As we shop for a new RV to part time next year I work full time remote so a good signal is a must have. I had planned on getting a weboost system, but I see some new RV's will add a wifi ranger for about $1200. I thought that was high, but is it better than the weboost? I have never used a Wifi Ranger. I visited the website. To me, any money spent on improving your connection to a campground wifi provider is a waste of money as it usually sucks even if your standing next to their main antenna. Their antenna looks inadequate compared to the Weboost options. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Weboost. I would buy the newer RV version that has the telescoping outside antenna pole. Mine is the one that mounts on your ladder so one can use it while driving. I use mine on a pvc pole I fabricated.

RE: Good Wi Fi for RV: Is it Possible?

We half time and my DW still works online a day or two a week. Wifi in campgrounds appears to get worse and worse as more folks embrace streaming. Ive given up on it. We found that an ATT and Verizon solution combined with a Weboostrv cell booster gets you pretty far down that road. We have Verizon iPhones that hotspot and if that doesn’t work or they throttle us then the back up is the ATT based OTR online. It’s a flat rate no limit no throttle no contract hotspot. Yes the Weboost cost a few nickles but time after time it made the difference between slow to no streaming to streaming with 10-20 MBS service.
