RE: Need pro

Everything you wanted to know: Even the RV Dreams folks are getting off the road! It's certainly not for everyone. We have been full time since 1997 and don't see an end to that journey in our near future.

RE: Help with full timing over the winter

Before giving advice I'd like to know what was wrong with Florida. How many times are you going to post this same thing? Can you not read?

RE: Garmin GPS

Google Maps on a 7" or 10" tablet will do an even better job!

RE: Winter camping

If you have a commercial heated water hose (assuming that's what you mean by water line) you likely don't need to disconnect the water line assuming you keep it plugged in but that will depend upon how the campground water system is setup. It's certainly not necessary to keep the hose hooked up but that's what that hose is designed for. Check with the campground and verify your plan and their setup so no one has issues.

RE: Recommedations

Certainly the Space Center in Houston. On the assumption you are just making an I-10 run there will also be a whole lot of nothing! Pensacola and the Destin area are spectacular. New Orleans. The Alamo Kerrville, TX - Buckhorn RV resort if that stop works with your travels. El Paso (NOT! Great place to bypass) White Sands would not be much of a detour. The Very Large (Antenna) Array in Socorro, NM is interesting if you like learning and you happen upon the right weekend.

RE: winegard carryout G3

Bell does not work in the US much more than a couple of hundred miles South of the border.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

You're right, Bill. I have 75 fresh and 50 grey and 50 black tanks. We carry 165 fresh and I believe the black and grey are 120 and 80 or something like that.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

If you also drink soda or beer you can add to what goes into the black tank!

RE: Operating on a 20amp circuit

If the coach is also winterize (if you are in a cold area) you would not even need to run the heat all day. 20 amp is actually quite a lot so without any high draw items you won't have any concerns.

RE: Hulu price increases TWICE this year!

While you might have a mobile internet connection in most RV's, the amount of data necessary to Google the local restaurant scene and use Google Maps pales in comparison to the amount of data required to make streaming your primary source for TV content. The difference in cost must be factored in and accounted for. They do not cost the same amount of money (unless you are timmac with a business, unlimited connection that he doesn't have to pay for).

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

If you have 80 gallons fresh your grey and black will need to total more than that 80. More like 100 would be close but at least 30-40 black and 70-80 grey.

RE: winegard carryout G3

I am considering purchasing a winegard G3 satellite system and would appreciate any comments as to its performance, ease of use and costs. Thanks Are you a DISH customer or DTV? New or used purchase?

RE: Original Wineguard Carryout dish - any value to it?

I have an original (I think) Wineguard Carryout dish that I haven't used since 2016. I think it was good for Directv and Dish at the time I purchased it. I used it for Directv. Does it have any use or value or should I toss it in the dumpster? Thanks. dreamer. Used domes still have some value. For a DTV customer, likely very little, but the Carryout should work just fine for any DISH customer and give them full channel selection in full HD.

RE: Original Wineguard Carryout dish - any value to it?

Technology is changing so fast. If you don't have an immediate need for it, you can always turn it upside down and use it for a bird bath. Some JB Weld for the holes, some spray paint, set it on top a log or a tree stump, add some water, and the birds are happy! (Been there, done that, with old satellite dishes. ) Please ignore this nonsense!

RE: New 450 Lxi home

You should be able to do some math to see if your fuel gauge is accurate. Your liberty likely gets 6-7 MPG but you can figure it pretty close on your own. If you used 100 gallons at 1/2 tank and you drove 700 miles you pretty much know where you stand. I am a 1/4 tank guy as a limit but I know what that means for fuel. My generator will also stop running if I get below 1/4 tank so keeping in mind where we are and break-down possibilities I sometimes stick with 1/2 or more as well.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

"Must be located" is preferred but not a requirement. There are multiple options for locating a toilet NOT directly above a black tank.

RE: convection oven not cooking

A properly working Convection/Microwave oven is awesome. It has been our only oven option for the last 20 years. However, we have replaced our oven something like 5 or 6 times during that time. Not sure if it's the brutal environment driving down the road or what, but it has been a reality we just deal with and move on!
