RE: Florida to Wyoming travel concerns

Some State rest areas in Louisiana and Texas have been named by the states as "safe rest areas" or some similar name and welcome overnighters and have free coffee after 8 or so in the A.M. Some have specific areas for RVs away from the truck areas and have armed overnight security patrolling all nite. We used several on a trip last Sept and felt very secure, even hooked our Honda 2000 up to run the AC. Check with the state DOT.

RE: I Have One Chance

In the Orlando area there are several places that rent RVs and will set them up for you and pick them up when you are through. Most of this is done for Disney World but I bet they would be able to suggest some other less crowded, more snowbird type campgrounds in the surrounding areas.

RE: Basement Compartment Shelving / Organization ideas

After using plastic totes and after finding what I wanted was always in the bottom one in the back , I bought two plastic 3 drawer storage units at Walmart that let me organize better and added almost no weight. I now have cleaning supplies, lube, etc in 1 drawer; electric, tv cable, small replacement parts, small fasteners, etc. in another, and tools and heavier items in the bottom drawer. I have a 5er so I put one unit on either side of the basement. I write contents on each drawer with a magic marker. I have not had to fasten the units down, they are up against the front basement wall and have not moved in over 50,000 miles. Cost 20-30$ each.I have not fastened my cord reel down either and it does not shift around

RE: AC easy start.

My 15,000 AC runs well on my Honda 2000 generator ( which is 6 yrs.old )since I installed the Microaire Easy Start. Don't remember AC mfg or model but it came on Montana HC 2014.

RE: Cable slide chatter and noise

I had a similar problem after shop replaced bad motor and they alsoput somekind of lube on the bottom and sides of the slide. They talked with tech rep at BAL who advised cleaning the lube off the slide with a cleaning agent made by a company who makes commercial and janitorial cleaning products. Can't remember the name but I think it may be Zep. Shop cleaned the slide and no more problems. The original lube they used was a product that is commonly advertised as a slide lube.

RE: suggestions on models

Some Montana High Country models would be in your range. My 305 RL is in the 12,500 loaded range and pulls easily with my 2013 Ram 2500diesel

RE: Service, landing gear down, or while still hooked to truck?

If you add 2" to the inside of the wheel well you might face the possibility of the tires hitting the wheel well on some of our nice, smooth, no bump roads. Happened to me when I went up a little on tire size and hit a really rough road section.

Surely you expect the "sideways puller" was being sarcastic. Why not recognize humor?

Uneasy in ShadowMtn NFS cg in the Tetons ?

Reading the post and replies starting 7-7-19 made me interested in trying to stay there instead of in Gros Ventre but my wife is very uneasy about not being in a more controlled campground, not from a wildlife standpoint but from a "bad"people standpoint. Have you had any problems boondocking in this area and do you go off and leave your rig there unattended all day? Cell phone coverage there? I know it is sketchy in GTNP and YNP.

RE: Route from Cleveland TN to Asheville N c

Do this trip frequently and find it quicker and easier to go through Knoxville I-75 to I-40. My wife actually doesn't mind driving through Knoxville if I'm not feeling good. We pull a 35' fiver.
