RE: RecPro RV A/C

https://i.imgur.com/mWFPSLjl.png https://i.imgur.com/syzSNrrl.png Haven’t been near my laptop. These are pics from the manual, which I downloaded from the RecPro site, I believe. Don’t know if this is what you are looking for. Hard to see on my phone.

I think you can Google that.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

If I remember correctly, Amazon jacked up the price the amount of shipping from RecPro. But it was “free Prime shipping.” So it equaled out. I went directly from RecPro. Very happy with the unit.

Front Camper Bumpers

Can this rubber bumper be attached to the white vertical strips on my camper? Is this where they are supposed to be mounted? Is there structure behind the strip that can be screwed into, or just as deep as the strip allows? Thanks. https://i.imgur.com/skNguyal.jpg https://i.imgur.com/gY3OsjKl.jpg

StableCamper

Has anyone used this product to stabilize their camper when off the truck? It's a bit pricey, but looks like it works. Thanks. https://www.stablecamper.com/stablization

RE: RecPro RV A/C

I did run the amps with a clamp on meter this time. Got the same readings as with the DMM.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

OK, works on the Honda with Eco mode. With the compressor on, and fan on high, it kicks it up to maybe half way to full power. The soft start feature helps with that. No volts as of yet. I am liking this unit. Thanks.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

I forgot to move the red lead to the volts??. I will have another go at it.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

Hello, Jim. I tapped into the hot line at the ceiling ac box with my multimeter. Just took the wire nut off and attached the red to the line side and black to the work side. I have to review the procedure to check volts. I put the black on the ground wire, and the red on the hot wire. Was reading .060. I was assuming that was not right. I have a UNI-T clamp meter arriving Wed from Amazon. I will run the numbers with that when I get it, and also run it on the 2000.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

OK, numbers off the 30amp plug, using DMM: Just Fan - LO - .562 / MED .594 / HIGH .620 Compressor - Avg around 7.5-7.6. with MED and HIGH FAN I have to watch more YouTube before checking the volts. I will also run it again off of the Honda 2000 and use Eco mode this time. https://i.imgur.com/RNOv1AAl.jpg

RE: RecPro RV A/C

This is my first RV AC. I didn't have one before because I bought it in Alaska, and didn't have this heat, and Mama was OK with it:), so I can't compare the noise. I can say that it is a lot quieter than I expected. Given that the fan stays blowing, when the compressor kicks on, there is not much of a noise change. I have yet to camp in it, but I have a feeling it will disturb my sleep less than the heater. I will get some numbers in a day or two. I just started the 2000 in normal run mode, let it warm up a bit, then plugged in. I left it on normal/non Eco mode the whole time. I will also run it again in Eco mode and see how it does.

No, not in ECO mode.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

Of the A/C, or generator? Didn’t notice any difference inside, the generator was normal level with just the fan, but when the compressor kicked on, the generator was bearing down. Double the noise.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

Works off of my Honda 2000 generator. Cooled the camper right down. I ran it for about two hours. Fridge and microwave were off. Very happy with the thing so far.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

https://i.imgur.com/z09bjAZl.jpg It works like a champ. Never had an RV AC before, but this thing is pretty quiet. It cools that camper down in a hurry. Of course, it isn't 90 out. I can't wait until it is:) I have it running off of 30amp. The next thing to do is see how it does with the 15amp adapter on the 30 plug. After that, how it does on my Honda 2000 generator. I am very happy with it so far. Thanks.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

Good to go. The pigtail black wire separated from the black/hot wire in the AC box. I used new wire nuts, versus the old ones yesterday. It is a tight fit for six solid #12 wires and wire nuts, in that small space. The unit has stranded wire. If I was to do it again, I would use stranded wire for the pigtails. I didn't because the wires from the breaker were solid. Remote works as advertised. As a previous poster showed, you can control the unit from the panel. The lowest temp for the AC was 60 degrees, and it was colder than that in there this morning, so have to wait until later to check out the cooling capability. Low profile on the roof, and also inside. Being 6'4", I am happy with that. I will post later on the cooling capability. Thank you all for your help.

RE: RecPro RV A/C

I just finished installing it. But no power to the unit. I have power to the box, and tied in the wires from there to the unit. No indication of power from the about 12" of travel to the unit. The instructions state that there is a connector that you connect the wires to. But the unit has the three wires with the bare ends. I piggy tailed those to the A/C box. I did not see where the other end of the units wires went. They were wrapped in black insulation. I have had enough for today, and will trouble shoot it tomorrow. The breaker didn't pop, no indication of trouble, at least from my untrained eyes. I find it curious that the power doesn't go from A/C box, right next door to the unit. The installation was straight forward. One of the biggest pains was scrapping the old caulk. I used Dicor leveling sealant to seal the gasket. Except for not working, it looks to be a nice unit. I was working by myself. Thanks.
