RE: Forest River Roof

The rubber can be cut and pulled back to inspect the roof, then reglued and sealed with Eternabond tape. What DRSteve said. I would be very wary though.... Plenty of places water can go that you will not be able to see till you tear it all apart.

RE: prowler water leak (roof)

do you have a slide topper? Check your seals, there should be a wiper seal along where it slides out.. Basically a piece of rubber... On the slide itself is the bulb seal which looks like a bulb. But that wont do anything with the slide out. Probably the wiper seal... Was the trailer level or maybe leaning the wrong way so water would drain into the slide instead of away?

RE: Thanks..and a Slide Question

If you are just sleeping in it.. Then it would be ok, but wait till those couple of days when its raining cats and dogs and you are stuck in the camper together.. It will get cramped real quick... IMO

RE: TSD Fuel Card

Sounds like GoodSam got their feelings hurt and started losing a lot of money so they pressured Pilot/FJ to stop selling to TSD RV customers. When you look at the discount we get using TSD vs GoodSam it has to make you wonder how much GoodSam is pocketing on all of our transactions since the GS discount is so small.

RE: Homeless migration to RVs creating problems

If you are in the NW (Seattle) congratulations and keep electing the fools you do, They give the homeless more rights than the taxpayers. Lived there and got the hell out... Its a joke.......

RE: WA 20 or US 2 across the Cascades summer 2020?

WA 20 is the best route. Too much traffic down on 2 and you avoid all the fruits and nuts out of Seattle by going 20... Too far for them to drive. Winthrop on East end cute little old west type town with Great Ice Cream! Lots of BLM campgrounds North Of Winthrop on HWY 1213.. where you don't need a reservation months in advance... Unlike 2.. where you can drive for hours looking for campsite last minute. Check out Harts Pass as well...

RE: Aftermarket Trailer Hitch

Yep - don't do it, at the very least you'll excessively unload the trailer's tongue that will only encourage the trailer to sway. :E What he said.... Your better off trying to get a rack to put on top of it or your tow vehicle.

RE: Arctic Fox, camper to truck wiring

I might add that most vehicles have a way to hook a T-connector in so you don't need to cut or splice into the wiring. Makes life easy!

RE: Good Sam recent experience

GS doesn't care... You keep paying for the service then when you need it you are left hanging.... Then you come here and complain and they offer to resolve it... By then its too late...

RE: TT for full time living or negatives of trailer brands

This is kinda like asking Chevy Ford or Dodge? Find a floor plan you like and then look at different brands... They all have issues it just depends on how much you want to tolerate and how good the dealer & MFG support is.... Make sure you consult your tow vehicle towing information and buy something that you can tow safely......

RE: Thought on the Coachman Clipper Ultra Lite 17BH?

Nice looking camper... Things to consider.. What do you mean winter camping? How is this thing constructed? Insulation? I notice it did not say anything about Dual Pane Windows... Is the heat ducted, and is the underbelly heated with a duct or just circulated air? How many batteries can it hold? If that camper is not well insulated its going to drain the heck out of the batteries at night... The pass thru storage compartment up front? is there any insulation in it... That bed is going to get real cold IMO....... Things to ponder.. Good luck!

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

Somebody else could answer that better..... There are lot of self appointed weight police around.....LOL The Gross weight of the lance looks good. Don't know about tongue weight though. Lance make a nice camper. I looked at the new models prior to purchasing my TT.. Couple of thoughts though.. That window above the bed.... Will it leak? Lots of truck campers that have window in the cab over leak from that area, #2 is that window dual pane?? Most likely it is. However what kind of heat loss in the cold temps are you going to get from it, and in the sun how much heat will it bring into the camper?? On the flip side you will have a nice view from it.. That bed, looks like its a fold up... How comfortable is that thing going to be after multiple nights in it? I had a sleeper sofa at home that was real hell to sleep on...

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

When you are looking at Trailers also look at Sleeping bed size, Tank sizes... If you are looking for solar, note that when it says wired for solar most just talk about a port in the side of the trailer that has wires to the batteries..... A queen bed in a Trailer can mean either a camper queen or an actual queen. Also take a good hard look at the Towing Specs for your rig too. That will have a big factor on what you can buy also...

RE: towing

Make sure you read the reviews about peoples experience with GS Roadside lack of assistance........... At the top of forum is a drop down box that you can adjust what messages you see. Up to 12 months in advance it defaults to last 14 days.. you wont see much at this time of the year but if you go back the last 12 you will see plenty of horror stories........ They are good about following up AFTER the fact though.... When you and the family are all safe after being left to your on devices to find help
