RE: Auto level question

I don't know if there was a change in programming since my 2012 hydraulic 6 point Level Up system but mine sure doesn't work like some describe. To start, do the "Return to Unhitch Height" procedure of pushing "Left" and "Right" simultaneously. This will adjust the front height *IF* the nose was above level when you unhooked (which is most cases). If the nose was low and the process fails, you will have to adjust the front using the "Front" and maybe the "Retract" buttons. You don't have to get into "Manual" mode as the "Front" button is always live. Note that I didn't do anything to the four rear jacks. There is no need to. The system automatically adjusts them as the front of the RV raises and lowers (part of the equal pressure system). You won't bend the rear jacks by raising the front of the RV. My system always seems the raise the nose about 1" higher than I want. I attribute that to raising the front jacks until there is a gap between the hitch and pin when unhooking. As I want the pin to be lower than the hitch when I hookup, I just manually drop the nose a bit before backing in. Once hooked up, simply press "Auto Retract All" (notice the "All" in that label) and the system retracts all 6 jacks. Pretty simple and foolproof.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

Ditto what Bill wrote. I use a Chromecast instead of a Firestick (which I have but haven't gotten around to installing). Having 83 (currently) scheduled recordings I never have to worry about where I am, what the local channels are, and having to adjust the recording information. They just record whenever and I watch them at my convenience.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

We received this email from ATT/DirecTV yesterday: We recently notified you that Congress had decided not to renew key provisions of the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act Reauthorization (STELAR) and that as a result, you would have lost access to out-of-market broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and The CW starting June 1, 2020. We’re happy to let you know that DIRECTV will now continue to provide you with access to broadcast networks CBS, FOX, and NBC as part of your Mobile Network Package. Unfortunately, access to ABC and The CW networks are no longer part of your Mobile Network Package. In recognition of any inconvenience to you, we are adjusting the price of your Mobile Network Package from $20 to $15, effective June 1, 2020. Please note this new price (and any related credits) will appear within 1 to 2 billing cycles. If you have any questions, please call us at 866.595.9429. Thank you for choosing DIRECTV. I noticed last night, it could have been there before, that ABC East (396) and West (397) are back along with CW Plus (394). I never watch CW so I don't know if there was east/west versions before or if CW Plus was it.

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

You didn't say what RV you have, but if the stove is in a slide out, check for a kink in the flexible line under the slide.

RE: Directv getting channel loss 771 but not really

...There has been no interruption of signal, just the banner along the bottom of the screen.... If the picture keeps coming through despite the 771, could it be another channel you are recording such as a local that you are out of the spot beam for? That is the usual cause when I see the 771 (unless there is a thunderstorm in the way).

RE: Tucson area campgrounds

Gilbert Ray, a county park, is in Saguaro NP and about and hour and a half from Tombsotne. They don't take reservations, have hooks ups in many of their sites and is huge. Also Old Tucson {the movie studio/old west town} is about 2 miles up the road A little touristy but still a hoot if you have never been. :C Actually Gilbert Ray just started taking reservations for about 1/2 the park. It is a new app for them and to say it sucks is being generous.

RE: RV Park Reviews

Tried to post the latest park I am in. After 70 reviews in 20 states I can not post to the "new" site. I use(d) the site all the time for the reviews by people that had been there. Error occurred token mismatch or similar. Cleaned cache & restarted and tried to post a second time, still no go. Don't get it fixed soon I'll start using RV Parky exclusivity. RV Park Reviews is an RVLife forum. They have a strong support group. Report your problem to them by clicking on the "Contact Us" tab in the small brown ribbon on the bottom of the screen.

RE: RV Places In Monterrey Bay California

What do I not understand. This is the " Public Lands, Boondocking and Dry Camping" sub-forum. Why would anyone expect they wanted to know about RV parks?

RE: California Non-commercial class A license ***New question***

Thanks 94-D2! Not to quibble, but the CA definition of a Pickup is: Pickup (CVC §471)—A pickup is a motor truck with a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of less than 11,500 pounds, an unladen weight of less than 8,001 pounds, and equipped with an open box-type bed less than nine feet in length. California Code of Regulations, Title 13 §150.04 further defines pickup trucks: (Reference https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/pubs/reg_hdbk/ch13/ch13_3) One kicker which CA has ignored is that most 3/4 or 1 ton pickups, especially Fords, have a unladen weight greater than 8K lbs. The specification of a "open box-type bed" means flatbeds and utility bed vehicles are *NOT* pickups. It then follows that anyone, including stock duallies, are required by law to stop at CA weigh stations. But doing so puts your life in danger from real truckers and the scale operators. No need to quibble, the definitions (etc.) are all in this Caltrans link, as well as "Discussions" - which may(?)clear things up...:W Link: Scroll down to: "Do These Vehicles Have To Stop At The Scales?" Life in danger - "from real truckers and the scale operators"..:h ~ The line ups at the CA weigh stations are already long. But legally, based on the DMV's definition of a pick up, every 1 ton dually plus most Ford F250/F350s must stop as they are not "pick ups". If they did, the real truckers and the scale operators would be very upset. If you want to find out for yourself, just stop at a weigh station with your dually. I am sure the weight master will be more than pleased to take time to explain why you don't need to stop. I suspect the other truckers in line will also be willing to explain why you shouldn't stop. But according to the law, you are required to stop. Catch 22! I know a Montana Owner who lives in Redding CA (near an I-5 weight station) and has an F450. He has been ticketed numerous time for not stopping. He fought the ticket in court and lost. Of course he is somewhat of an A hole and well known in the area.

RE: California Non-commercial class A license ***New question***

Welcome to CA's Catch 22. As you suspect, most (all) buyers hook up and tow their new toy home. A large percentage never even bother to hassle with DMV and it's Class A non-commercial test. Good luck with the test. The alley docking portion is tough.

RE: Slideout Rocker Switches Dead, Remote Works OK

You haven't indicated what rig and remote system you have, but if it is a Lippert based system, the following may apply. This has been discussed numerous times on the Montana Owners Club forum. The Landing Gear and Slides only working with the remote control and not with the outside manual switches has been a topic of discussion here lately. When ours stopped working "zman08" directed me to a post that solved our problem. It involved removing the ground for the manual switches from the remote receiver and grounding it to the chassis. Apparently there is a "failsafe" circuit to keep the user from using the remote switches and the manual switches at the same time. The failsafe will not provide a ground to the manual switches when the remote system is energized and will sometimes get "locked" in that position. That is what happened to ours. I just moved the ground from the receiver to the chassis and everything works again. Some users have also needed to move the 12V+ line to a separate 12V source. You can replace the receiver module, but I think Lippert wants around $150-$200 for it and it will probably just fail again. Our rig is out of warranty so this was the best economical fix for us. I have included a couple of photos of where the wires are for the manual switches and where I moved the ground to. RE: Netflix forces newer TVs

I received a letter from Sony saying my Blu-ray would no longer support Netflix. They suggested I buy a Firestick from Amazon. They included a discount code which made the $25 device free. I am happy.

RE: Strange issue with this forum

While this probably should have been posted in the "Forum Help" category, I bet an Admin will be around to move it. I don't know if it has been discussed, being curious, I tried it out. I could go to Page 1 of a multi-page post either by clicking on the number from the listing or once in the post by entering a 1 in the Page Box and hitting Enter.
