RE: Problem with B&W Companion unhooking from hitch

I’ve got nothing to add as far as advice, but I’ve had several different hitches and the Companion is my favorite. I don’t think you have a hitch problem, as has been already implied. Happy travels.

RE: Ready Brute brake cable routing Fiesta

I have this same situation with my Honda CRV. I just hook a cheap lightweight bungee cord from the brake pedal to the seat bottom when towing. I don’t have a problem when not towing. Hope yours will be an easy fix. I installed mine myself and haven’t seen a better way to route it.

RE: no high beam headlights

I just resolved a problem with no low beams. I was about to go into the steering column and look at my multifunctional switch, but I saw that my headlights relay was the same as one right beside it, so I switched them and bingo, lights working bright and dim. $21 at parts store and all is well. Good luck.

RE: Natchez Trace

I’ve been traveling the trace for many years. There is a 50 MPH limit posted, but as long as you stay under 60, you’ll be fine. X2 on the deer.

RE: Dental Assistance

We use Care Credit. It was recommended by our dentist. It's not really insurance. It just allows you to pay the dentist up front and then pay installments to I agree with this. Since I self insured several years ago, amazingly, I stopped needing to have another crown about every year. I also don’t do X-rays. I would, if I thought I had a problem that necessitated them. I have cleanings every six months and haven’t had a problem in several years. To each his own.

RE: Shore power question

Thanks for the responses. My camper is 30 amp, and I can trip that outside breaker pretty easily.

Shore power question

Is it okay to plug 30 amp camper into 50 amp campground receptacle using an adapter? Is there any advantage doing so, if both 30 and 50 amp are available?

RE: ?ampers are on the road

I realize I can do what I want, but I guess I want the availability of things to do when I get where I’m going. As a poster said on another thread, my RV is my motel room. We’re planning a trip for the end of the month.

?ampers are on the road

I drove 20 miles on the interstate today and met five campers: two class A, one class C, one 5er, one TT. I was a bit surprised to see that many. I’m looking forward to when we can get out there.

RE: Generator start/stop switch

Unplug and plug the remote switch connector on the side of the generator several times. That connector is a known issue. Richard Yes, but his other remote switch works. I missed what he meant by "Control" Board. I thought he meant the ON Genset board. He must mean his Monitor panel. He needs to find where the Dash Switch and the Monitor panel wires connect to the Genset remote wire harness. THAT is probably where he has the problem. Most OEM's use tap splices to connect to the Onan remote wire harness and odds are the Tap splices are corroded or have come loose. Doug I suspect the problem may be where the Dash Switch and the Monitor panel wires connect to the Genset remote wire harness, but I don’t know how to find that. I don’t see any way to “follow” the wires. I don’t have to have that switch working, but I’d like to.

RE: Generator start/stop switch

My control board is behind the genset start stop switch on unit. If bad board Dinosaur electronics has some. Does it start and stop at genset? Yes. Only problem is at the inside info panel.

RE: Generator start/stop switch

Make and model of genset. I am guessing it is an Onan. They have an isolation circuit board on some models. It may have shaken loose or the control cable has come loose where it connects to genset. Yes, it’s a 5500 gold. Where would this circuit board be located? It sounds reasonable that a wire might have come loose. I’ll look it over good tomorrow.

Generator start/stop switch

The switch on my control board will not start the generator, but it will stop it. I removed the switch and checked for continuity. When I put the probes on the top two tangs and push the bottom side of the switch, I get the continuity beep. When I touch the bottom two and push the top, I also get the beep. This makes me think the switch is good. I have 12 volts on the hot wire. My dash switch and the one on the generator both work. I’m wondering if I have a corroded connection, but I don’t know where that wire goes. I tried looking at the wiring diagram but really couldn’t make much out of it. What do you think?

RE: Dash AC

Thanks, everyone. I’m still trying to find something, but so far the lines look intact. I haven’t give up.

Dash AC

I have a 2002 Winnebago Adventurer. No matter what I turn my control to, the air blows out the defrost vents and floor vents. I looked inside the front compartment but didn’t find any vacuum tubes. Any advice?
