RE: What else does your truck do?

I’m surprise no one has asked this yet. Why do you have a 45 kW generator in that thing? LOL Heading down to slab city and looking to sell power to people? Little side business? Unofficial campground? Worked for a small circus, the genset ran the lighting. It was set sideways with another door on the other side. Had an industrial Ford 300 straight six. Also had gypsie boxes for the 10-12 RVs to plug into at night. Finally went to a Ford cube van with a 460. Way nicer to drive, lol.

RE: dumb hitch ball question

Watch dealers move trailer with tractors- they never get out and lock the coupler. No worries, you’ll be fine.

RE: What else does your truck do?

My truck had a 45kw Onan in the back, along with 4 follow spotlights. Early 80s 350, 165 hp. I totaled 19,500 lbs, about 5,000 lbs over gcvw. http://bryantrv.com/images/temp/rvnet/amusementstruck_3.jpg

RE: incandescent bulb works correctly LED does not

We have led nightlights that light up even when the power is out- not sure where the power is coming from. That's worth investigating, if you care about your battery. Do you have a battery disconnect switch? Ever put an ammeter on your battery lines? Could they be phosphorescent? Clarification, this is in our stick and brick house :)

RE: can i wire the furnace to run with out the a/c unit wired in

Isn’t it already wired to control the furnace? On his DuoTherm, the thermostat controls the air conditioner, which controls the furnace. There’s no way for his thermostat to directly work the furnace.

RE: can i wire the furnace to run with out the a/c unit wired in

What he said. Identify the two wires from the furnace, hook them to two wires of your choice in the wall t-stat wires, then get a simple furnace only t-stat and hook it up.

RE: AC Problems, Solutions?

Check the unit for recirculating air- turn it on, let it get cold, and carefully stick your hand up in the air return and feel for cold air.

RE: Yet another Onan running like **** thread. HELP!

The only really successful cleaning I have heard of used an ultrasonic cleaner.

RE: Yet another Onan running like **** thread. HELP!

Those carbs are near impossible to clean- just replace it. Are any of the aftermarket carbs worth buying or do I have to spend way too much on the Onan replacement part? Wow, I just priced those- exactly double what I paid a few years ago. I’d sure be tempted to try aftermarket, but I have no experience with them- just put a $20 carb on my old riding mower rather than the Briggs oem one, at a hundred dollars more. Haven’t fired it up yet, though.

RE: What do I need to start this?

I’ll be a bit contrary- I’m seeing steel frame- cannot tell how badly rusted it is. If it is sound, you just have a major delam issues from major leaks. You would basically just reskin the rig. You should have an emergency start switch which will jump the house battery to the chassis- make sure the battery leads are well taped.

RE: Remove drainage valve?

That style clamp can be popped off with a screwdriver- the band overlaps itself and is held by nubs sticking up, or just cut that loop with dykes. You can buy the tool to replace, or replace with a shark bite or flairit valve. Google Oetiker clamps for more info.
