RE: stopping point/overnight camp between Ohio & Fort Wilderness

I used the KOA in Cartersville the last time I made that trip. Easy access to I75.

RE: 1996 Pace Arrow A/C Question/Help

The one on the left appears to be the low pressure switch. Unplug and jump the two with a paperclip, that will make the compressor start and the refrigerant will fill. Just because it is old does not mean it all needs replacement, I use a 1996 Explorer as my beater and it still has cold air at 300k miles.

RE: Hardwood Floor Cleaner

If you get in the habit of removing your shoes when entering the house, assuming you aren't doing that already, you'll cut down on the amount of dirt tracked in immensely. X2, works wonders, no sand, vacuum weekly and rarely have to mop.

RE: Ford SuperDuty more bumpy + jittery empty, than when loaded?

The more weight you put in that box the better the ride is going to get, you may want to check the tire pressure, I lower mine when i am empty to smoothen things out a bit too, aired up to max whithout a load will cause them to wear in the middle. Wes Same here, air down unloaded, my back likes it better too.

RE: Hurricane Dorian

Finally starting to move. Down to CAT2. Prepped and ready to either go or stay, depends on wind speed. We do not have far to go to be out of evacuation zone, about 6 miles and not much more than that to a place to stay if need be. Track right now appears to be 70-80 miles offshore, which is a good thing. Will get closer after it passes here and approches Charleston.

RE: Hail Damage + Lance Aluminum roof replacement questions

Tell the adjuster just what you said here, metal roof is structural. If it is not leaking I would probably take the money and leave the roof. I prefer aluminum over rubber anyway.

RE: Hurricane Dorian

We are sitting on ready to go if need be. Generator tested, 80 gallons gas on hand. Watching the tracking models. Will put up plywood tomorrow if need be and be ready to go. Praying it tracks like the model at 1100am, if so we get rain, high king tide flooding and some wind. Anything closer and away we go. The problem with leaving is getting back home, I have credentials to get by roadblocks but roads may not be passible, the downside to staying is if the storm is worse then you cannot get out and that will be worse. If not for worries of looters the decision to leave is easier, but that is why we pay insurance, just go and hope for the best. We are 20 miles from the open ocean at HHI, protected by a few curves in the river from the surge and are elevated as well. House been here since 04 and has seen a few storms without major issues but nothing this big. Hoping by the time it is up here down to a 2, if that is the case and it stays offshore we are okay. Looking outside now it is 15 minutes into high tide and water is about a foot under what we usually see with king tides. Good luck to everyone else up and down the coast. Chris

RE: Hooking up to a well

Just call a well company to check well and install pressure tank and switches. No need to get anyone else involved, that is how it works here.

RE: Need Source for Exterior Stripe Tape

I have found lots of sellers on ebay that carry RV graphics at a decent price. One sellers even custom made a graphic from a picture and the dimensions for me. On another trailer the (Hideout) graphics were shot and was able to purchase the same style for that model year. Agree, Charleston SC Craigslist has a guy that does names and numbers for boats. If you have a good image with dimensions and the colors he can make them to any length as well. Probably someone near you that can do it the same way. He did my registration numbers for one of my boats for about half of what everyone else wanted, the quality was good and with the transfer paper they went on just fine. He showed me other outboard and boat logo decals that looked like original.

RE: Purchasing a camp site in Georgia

I stayed at Hardeeville RV just across the river from Savannah when relocating. I did see signs there advertising RV lots for sale, not in the park but in the area around it, community is Levy SC. This is located in Jasper county and there are not a lot of regulations or zoning in the rural parts of the county. It is about 15 minutes from downtown. There are a lot of decrepit old houses in the rural part of the county so possibly getting one of those would net you a lot with well and septic in place. There are plenty in the area that have done it that way.

RE: Need Source for Exterior Stripe Tape

Auto body supply shops have or can get all sizes of stripe tape. Vinylstriping.com advertises RV stripe tape on web page. Also check 3M.

RE: Hyw 27 Chattanooga South to I10

It is a good route. Have taken it many times. No shortage of fuel stops. Beats the interstate and you will not have to deal with Atlanta traffic at all.
