RE: This net is dying!

I found some old notes (in a spiral notebook). It seems like I attempted to subscribe to IMGUR on 8-25-2020. I entered my name, and my stage name, my email address, my password and phone number. I did not succeed. I submitted a question, and all I got is a six digit number. I'm sure I was using my desk top Dell, which was a hand-me-down from my wife,...which She had repaired and "cleaned out". OR, I might've used a laptop which soon after had a failure of the inverter (no longer available). Another question I have is: can I access IMGUR by using my desktop Dell (windows 10)...?

RE: This net is dying!

She plugs her iPhone into her HP laptop and a Photos app pops up. It connects and she transfers pics from her phone to her pc. The Photos app is part of Win10. It does say Photos will not transfer from the iCloud * Does this mean that IMGUR does not use the icloud?

RE: This net is dying!

2112,....Thank you... I followed your thoughtful instructions and came to a page which had an image of a yellow folder which I clicked on. It gave me an indication that it was empty. I had failed to tell you that I do NOT have a stash of photos in this computer. My 900+ photos are the ones that PhotoBucket is holding. My more recent photos are in my iphone-10 that I acquired (used) a few months ago. the ones in my iphone are the ones I've been wanting to learn how to move into my desk top Dell computor. THerefore, I feel like I need to ask: is it possible to move my iphone photos into my desk top computer such that I can insert one or two into a RVNET post? Now I'm also wondering what is the purpose of IMGUR?

RE: This net is dying!

Email the photo from your phone to your Gmail, or whatever hosts your private email. Go to browswer on your phone, pull up your PC or LT email page on the browser, attach photo to email, send email to yourself. Open email on PC or LT and save attachment to a folder on PC or LT. That's how we do it - we have Android and T- Mobile. You might need an app on or set up your phone to attach photo to email. Maybe a tech on here can tell us. * I was more ignorant than I let on. I'm not a person that uses their smart phone for "everything". The way I've been sending photos is by texting. So,...it looks like I need to learn how to set it up for browsing.

RE: This net is dying!

I tried the charging cable, as suggested. I could not make it work. After doing a little research, I've concluded that in order to achieve my goal, the image that I want to insert into my post,.....has to first exist in a bonafide hosting site....like IMGUR. I'm guessing it's because each image needs its own URL. So, at this point I need to ask for confirmation, or rejection. Sorry, for not understanding IMGUR when it first appeared on this forum. I had actually tried IMGUR, but never could learn how to join. BTW one or two of the images that I want to post are modifications of some diagrams that I borrowed from Google. I took pictures of them with my iphone. I'm going to try texting one to my wife's iphone.

RE: This net is dying!

Thanks Barney. But, I'm still stuck. I've failed to learn how to move my photo from my iphone into my computer. Back to basics. I'll find a local to teach me that, and get back to you.

RE: This net is dying!

Dear Barney, I hate to tell you, but you are not reaching us "dummies". Without knowing how to post pictures and diagrams, we simply can't have the enjoyment and satisfaction that we enjoyed when we were using Photobucket (many moons ago). In 1980 I used a Kodak DCA265 Zoom camera that came with a "driver" disc which you loaded into your desk top computer, then you simply connected a camera cable to the computer and transfer the pictures into "my pictures" in the computer. Then, it was easy to transfer whichever pictures you wanted into Photobucket. Each picture had 4 selections from which to pick depending on what you wanted to do with the picture. It was a snap to select the one you wanted to paste in your forum post. I helped other members and got lots of enjoyment. NOW, I have a dandy-modern desk top computer, and a apple 10 iphone. Yeah, I can take pictures. But, too ignorant to follow your instructions. HELP

IMO it's the serious nature of the "climate" through which we are presently living......

RE: A punishing pace, safety issues and broken bodies

I noticed some of this 20 years ago. I was there for 9 days. I complained, but then I soon learned that if you complain too much you find out that you simply become known as a complainer. There are no "magic wands"......

RE: Nascar Follies

Larson has won many more races than Wallace. But, his survival instinct wasn't working too good.... he should've kept his helmet on,.....and immediately dropped to the ground. And, Christopher Bell had rotten luck.

RE: Nascar Follies

I finally witnessed some exciting NASCAR racing (the last few laps of the Roval.) My man Kyle Busch drove a car that "worked". And, another of my favorite drivers won (excellent work by his crewchief). GO CHRISTOPHER BELL..!!!

RE: Proud of my Costco cheap Firman Gen

Almost all devices that run on a carburetor(gasoline)engine should have a shut-off valve near the carburetor. ALL the outboard boat engines which I've owned (including the 6 cylinder Merc) I always let run until the carburetors runs out of gasoline, before I take them out of the water. NEVER had any problem starting them up. Right now, I have a tiller, and a small air compressor, that need a replacement carburetor. Guess why....???

RE: If your going to ask for help then you should ************

IMO most helpers are NOT trained to be instructors. I'll quit right here, because it takes me half a page to properly explain what I'm talking about. Dude, what are you talking about. ;) * I see the humor in it now. Sorry
