RE: Standard definition from direct tv

I have DirecTV (Pacific Northwest) .... Except for this forum, I've heard nothing regarding the demise of SD. My sticks and bricks has two HD-DVR's and two SD receivers in the bedrooms. The motorhome has a HD-DVR and one SD ... all are working fine. I've had no onscreen offers to switch, or snail mail asking the same question. Maybe it's a regional thing, but so far my service has been the same with no indication of switching. I guess now I have the same question as you ... when and if what we hear is true. If they do switch, I'll require all new equipment as what I'm using is several years old and before Wi-Fi (pre-Genie, & before streaming).

RE: HELP! diy project gone bad

I have used the slickers before and they work quite well. Simple and replaceable, but the real benefit is there's no damage to the floor because they do such a good job protecting it. From Amazon The above link is to Amazon, but most RV accessory outlets carry them.

RE: wireless thermometer

I use several different wireless thermometers to monitor RV temps. But THIS ONE is the best I've found to monitor the fridge. I use them on two home refrigerators too. No drop outs, and batteries last for over a year.

RE: Name That TT !!!

I don't believe this is a Shasta ... Shasta trademark appearance (all or some of the below): > Small fins attached to both sides high up on the the rear side panels. > Wheel wells exposing most of the tire. > Front body panel covered the leading edge of the frame. > Front window much wider than shown in the photo. 58' Shasta

RE: POWER PANEL went blank. Generator the same

The generator itself has a breaker, but it won't prevent 12v from reaching the coach. Do you have a salesman switch? Everything you mentioned requires 12v to the control boards to operate, so it seems it could be a 12v issue.

RE: Quick review on: Flow-Rite RV2000 Pro-Fill RV Edition

The squeeze bulbs do have a short life span. I replaced mine with this (or similar). Squeeze Bulb The hose (tygon tubing) can be found in any hardware store, just use the original fittings.

RE: Sinarek closet. Slide

Could be a low voltage issue. Check (and clean) all your connections and pay special attention to the ground connection.

RE: Difference between NiCad and NiMH batteries

Charge rate is different, so you're taking a chance of battery damage if you change to NiMH. "Nickel-based batteries are best fast charged; a lingering slow charge causes “memory.” Nickel- and lithium-based batteries require different charge algorithms. A NiMH charger can also charge NiCd; a NiCd charger would overcharge NiMH. Do not leave a nickel-based battery in the charger for more than a few days" The above taken from Battery University That said, I changed to NiMH for my solar powered shed lights and they worked fine.
