RE: Flat tow 2016 Equinox

We tow a 2020 Equinox Premier 2.0 Turbo AWD behind our Journey. Have not had any death wobble in 10K miles. Blue Ox Baseplate , towbar and Air Force One braking system.

RE: Ready to purchase 2024 chevy Equinox Primer for Flat towing

I concur, before you buy, make sure you read the owners manual. We tow a 2020 Equinox, Premier 2.0 AWD. I think the AWD was the only model to flat tow. We have Blue Ox baseplate and towbar. We required the diode lighting kit because we have LED lights. We have a diesel pusher and had the Air Force 1 braking system installed. Our Equinox has electric power steering and requires a robust charging line from the coach to keep the battery charged. Have not experienced the death wobble in 10K miles of towing.

RE: Wifi a long way away from RV site.

I have the system in this thread
David Bott Tutorial
I haven't used it for the past several years because we have had good coverage on our Visible and Verizon phones. But it did work well when I used it. I mounted it on a PVC pole I bungeed to the ladder on the back of the coach. I could point it toward the access point, the ethernet cable ran inside to the wifi and power supply. Mine was only for 2ghz, but I think the new models are also 5ghz.

RE: The fantastic vent fan in the bedroom has a problem.

I believe the small motor that opens/closes the lid stops itself based on current draw. I would remove the crank handle and inspect the splines and gear box. It may also be the control board,

RE: First Post, Out of Frustration over Dometic AC

I am not familiar with Dometic units, I have 2 Coleman units on my coach, controlled by a single tstat. If your tstat controls the unit thru a data wire vs the normal 12v Y1 wire, then interference could be the cause. I had pursued my issues for almost two months before I tracked the culprit to an ac to dc 12v wall transformer. Once I replaced the transformer units have been trouble free. I would start by turning off all your 120v breakers except for the main and the a/c unit. See if the unit will run normally. If it does, then I would begin turning on the other breakers one at a time, monitoring the unit. My issue was found when I turned on one of the general receptacle breakers on the inverter sub panel, which happened to control all my entertainment systems in the coach. The transformer powered my HDMI to CAT5 conversion module and was hard to locate. This may or may not be a solution for your system, but I would find the schematics for your tstat to see if it controls the unit thru a data wire.

RE: Dead...

Our 2012 coach came with 6 12V AGM house batteries and 2 12V AGM chassis batteries. We replaced the house batteries in 2020 with Duracell AGMs from Sams club. The chassis batteries were replaced with Duracell AGMs in 2021. I never inspected the batteries until I replaced them. We have a Magnum inverter/charger which maintains them nicely. We have fulltimed since we bought the coach.

RE: Truly unlimited and temporary Hot Spot

The Visible plans are all inclusive for the price. I have one I use just for internet. I used it via its hotspot for about a year, now have it tethered to a router and I get faster speeds. There is a thread in the tech section on irv2 dot com on unlimited internet for $25/month. All the Visible info you need.

RE: Help with Power Gear leveling system

Are you trying in auto mode?
Do the airbags deflate?
Does the pump run but no jacks go down?
Have you tried manual mode?
I have had a few times in the past where coach was level enough that jacks would not move in auto mode.

RE: First Trip through Canada & into Alaska - Many Questions!

We had a great trip in 2014, including Top Of The World Highway. Canada was really good about putting out the cones on frost heaves, Alaska not so much. We found that keeping an eye out for tire skid marks was a good indication to slow down.
Mike and Terri Church Alaska book was a great asset, along with the Milepost.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

If I understand correctly, this surging happens while you are using water, and not when the faucets are turned off. There should be a pressure adjustment allen screw on the pressure switch. Turning clockwise will increase the pressure at which the pump will turn off.

RE: Coolant tank leak on Freightliner

I would use a sheet metal screw and rubber washer with the weld. If it leaked I would loosen the pressure cap and monitor the temp.

The only time we use Thetford Chemicals is when we are boondocking in hot weather. Which lately has not been very often.

My thoughts: An inexpensive smart phone could have an app for what you want, along with emergency 911 on any network if available.

RE: Gazebo stakes

There is an item called The Claw, used to tiedown airplanes, among other things. I used one to anchor my Hughnets Internet tripod. They are pricey, but work well.

RE: Oiled my box fan and it broke...

I don't think so. An ac compressor lives in an oil and freon environment without an issue. I think your sleeve bushings are the issue.
