RE: Gravel rv pad?

Listen to Rob. Gravel is not the way to go. Maybe everyone just calls any kind of crushed rock "gravel" i don't know.

RE: Wheel bearings

careful on the "Timkens". I bought into them once and it was a timken box and the bearings had made in China stamped on them, just saying. So why replace the bearings if the originals show no need such as wear or peening. You may just be throwing good ones in the scrap and **** shooting new ones in there. :h surely you tube has a bunch of videos on R&R. also i think etrailer.com may. you also should use grease that is specked for the application.

RE: Trojan T-105 Storage

Look them up on ebay or amazon. Deltran battery tenders are my pick of the litter.

RE: We always unhook, even on an overnight stop

I think I would prefer to stabilize the situation while calling the magic 911 number.

RE: Removing Eternabond residue from vinyl and carpet

If you got some scrap carpet laying around it may be beneficial to try your elixir on it. I messed up some carpet once when my snake oil got down to the bottom mesh of the carpet. :S

RE: Toilet bowl no longer holds water

I replaced mine by simply holding the dump open and reaching in there and removing the old one and in a similar manner installing a new one. BTW, I think you gotta tell these guys what kind of potty you are dealing with.

RE: need new tires

I run transforce on the back of my F250 and the 10K fifth wheel. Nary a problem out of them. That is my belly button story and I am sticking to it. :W

RE: Gas TV for a year long trip

tb82, I did not read through all the posts, but can give you some food for thought on the aux gas tank in the bed. Sure you cannot doa a gravity feed. however on mine i installed a typical 12 in line fuel pump between the aux and the main filler neck. Draw the gas from the tube in the top of the tank that has the pick up from the bottom. Put a veton 12 vol normally closed valve between the outlet of the fuel pump and the inlet to the filler neck. Power those two puppies up to a switch like the upfitter in the Ford. So you can flip the switch and replenish the fuel in the main when you want to. Since the fuel valve closes the Ford fuel system is shut when not refueling, I did an open vent on the aux and down through the bed with and in line filter since i am paranoid about having an open vent to the tank..

RE: Campspreading

:B I did not read through this one, however a though came to mind that it would be interesting if there was a list compiled as to all the subjects that people whine about on this board. Should be awsum and interesting.

RE: 1979 dodge mobile traveler 360cl wont pass emissions

I know this is apples and oranges - BUT When I had an ole dodge Dakota that thing would never pass emissions, even after dropping money at the stealer and they swore it was OK. So long comes an idea that is out in left space. it was the time that AMACO was advertising the ultimate grade that you could see thru in the glass full of it. i drove the vehicle down to as much as I dared towards empty. Even carried a little spare gas if i got empty. Then drove into the AMACO station and dumped some ultimate in it. Took it out and let her eat on the free way for some miles. Then zipped into the station that was always flunking the test and it passed with flying colors. i did the same for the following years. just my story and I am sticking to it. good luck with that beast. BTW at the time they even sold snake oil that was supposed to help, but that didn't work on my Dodge.

RE: 4WD or 2WD

i ordered my F250 with what I wanted on it to include the gas motor and 2WD. It i what I wanted and all i needed and I don't give a flip about reselling it. I did not buy it for that. As far as 2WD becoming obsolete, are you kidding me, think of all the 2WD trucks out there that are working for a living, not show boating 4X4 decals. Personally, I think 2WD is here to stay.

RE: Plug it in or shut it down

Whatever makes you comfortable. mine is not plugged in even thought I have a 30 Amp plug where it is parked in the barn. The battery is disconnected and a maintainer is on the battery. I am comfortable.

RE: rv toilet leaking??

I think Mr Wizard might have the right answer. That is where my last leak was from. replacement valve was readily available. If i foggily recall there were two types one for bidet and one not? :h BTW OP you sound a little persinickidy there.

RE: Wireless Fridge Thermometer - Are they accurate?

I just grab the one from the stick home to take camping with me. Has been checked against a mercury one and it works fine.
