RE: water pump problems

I checked the pump by running water through the winterizing hose and it worked fine so... :h so then did you switch the winterizing valve to suck the water out of the tank?

RE: bathroom fan

Doug, one thing that came to mind is fabbing up some kind of handle/extension that would fit over the vent knob. :h

RE: Electric black tank dump valve. Worth it?

Been having trouble with cable and valve leaking. Took belly off once to deal with cable. Now valve leaking. Thinking if I have to take belly off again perhaps I should go electric. Are they trouble free? I still use the cable ones. Here is something to ponder when messing with pesky cable valves that are covered by the under belly. Go to amazon or anywhere and buy a quality valve with new cable attached. Don't pull the underbelly down, since you seem to know the location of the valve just cut a square hole with one of the four sides left uncut to act as a hinge. Replace the whole mechanism and button it back up with gorilla tape. My replacement valves and cables have been working fine for 8 years now. Just my two pennies.

RE: 5th wheel hitch lift

We all need "something" to do. Keeps the brain cells moving! Me, I just backed the fifth wheel into the barn yesterday and left the hitch hanging on the king pin. however i did spend some time fabbing up a muffler for the 1948 Maytag two cylinder opposed. ;)

RE: Trying to decide which way to go on fifth wheel hitch

Someone will always claim they have invented a better mouse trap and people will buy it. ;) My currently old 2012 F250 has rails in the bed which are topped of with a Reese 15K Classic That set up gets me there safe and sound every time. And I have no use for a slider. So after getting advice from all the "experts", it would be interesting if you post back on what you went with and why.

RE: Flatulence causing CO/Propane detector alarm?

I enjoyed this post because it brought back memories of a big black lab named Sammie that would pass what i nicknamed "the blue haze". Aside from setting off the gas detector, she would even get up and move when the bomb went off. :B

RE: Any hints about why my tire leaking?

WHOAH WATCH OUT THERE. you are describing the way my stems on my flat bed acted when they got rotten. I would grab that stem and twist it around some (with my fingers of course) and see if it starts hissing where it comes through the rim. put some soap solution there also. If that stem is rotten, I would suggest that the other ones are ready to expire also. :h

RE: 09 Cedar Creek rubber roof cleaning? Do I need to?

My theory is that all the tree sap, bird droppings, dirt, etc will help protect the roof. :h

RE: Gooseneck or 5th wheel

I wonder if they still make Reese that mount on the bed rails. :h My 15K Classic gets me down the road. Now for the "how heavy is it" part. If i am gonna park the camper for a while the hitch hangs on the king pin. At 76 plus I am not about to wrestle it in and out of the bed.

RE: BATTERY WATER?????

If you want to pony up, amazon should be able to drop that stuff at your door.

RE: Rough Road Towing

:S thanks for the post shelby. I been dumb in public. It is 24 west of Nashville and the holes in the road are west of the Hopkinsville turn off. Maybe the bumps jarred my old brain some how. I am going back to my corner now. :R

RE: Rough Road Towing

uhh, pitch, thanks for a slap with the wet noodle. I needed that. now where is I 40? Ya grab I 40 east off the Briley at Nashville and run it all the way to I 26 if you please. I could have been lost, however i have run that route for more than two decades. I take the Hopkinsville/Ft Campbell turn off and gas up at the Flying J. No bit**ing intended. I just thought it was amazing at how rough that concrete road was.

RE: Intermittent water leak issue

machero, There was not an O Ring in my kit that fit. The guy at Fast Auto sold them individually in virtually all sizes. Took 2 trips to nail it. And i do use Veton Rings that kicks plumber's grease adz.

RE: Intermittent water leak issue

Without knowing all the history here is a dilemma I went through on an intermittent leak under the kitchen sink. Older RV - the kitchen faucet assy had been replaced. The new one had a coupling where the water supply slid up on the faucet connection and was held in place by a clip. So I would go for a few days with nothing and then out of the clear blue a water puddle under the sink. i traced it down to which faucet by tying strips of paper towel on just below the connectors. When i found the wet one, I started exploring. After inspecting the O Ring that sealed the connection, I found a nick on it. So the challenge began on finding the right size O Ring. i found a guy at Fast Auto who knew his O rings and after two trial and errors he came up with what must of been the exact fit. It slid on (some plumbers grease applied) easily an i clipped it on. NO MORE LEAKS! That s my story and I am sticking to it. :)

Rough Road Towing

:R Man has anyone towed that concrete stretch of I 24 west of the Hopkinsville/Ft Campbell turn off? There are some spots where the dirt is squishing up between the cracks in the crete. Guess I will build up the courage to look at the under cariage of the fiver. :S

RE: Black tank release cable

apparently the cable and valve is accessible as you describe it. Why not go on amazon, get a new assy install and be done with it?

RE: Fords new 7.3 Godzilla

Scott, how long do you think something new like the 7.3 should be on the road before it is a consideration?
