RE: Thor Industries now has $14 billion in backlogged orders

I think it is just another "covid generated rumor or whatever" The three RV lots in Springfield IL are loaded with towable units. :h

RE: To portable dump tank or not to portable dump tank...

I have gone a month without dumping by very judicious use of the black tank. :h

RE: City water hookup leaks

If flushing the check valve doesn't fix it, a quick temporary fix is to just screw a garden hose plug into the fitting. If that's not on hand, an inline garden hose shut off valve or even a common 'Y' adapter with shut offs will work. Yep I carry one of those just in case. That was after the school of hard knocks. ;)

RE: Pinging

If it were mine, I would pay the freight to get a FORD computer hoked up to it. Why not start there first?

RE: Stolen Catalytic Converter

That reminds me of an ole 77 Caprice that I had that somebody had put a test pipe in. If you ran a half tank of AMACO ultimate thru it and then hit the smog test it would romp thru there in flying colors. :h

RE: Tell me about your 2011-16 F250 6.2L

I agree with the wizard on the ride empty. That thing will beat you up. I like my 2012. Normally we make at least 1 trip across the Smokies each year. Tow 10K and never get below 8.7 mpg. Crew cab short box, works fine without a slider. At age 77, I think this one will take me to the end of the road. I do have the optional 4.30 diffy. In regards to getting groceries, mine knocks out just at 13.8 mpg.

RE: New truck build time

It took exactly 2 months for my F250 to be dropped at the stealer. Oh and Grit Dog, you may try slacking off the coffee a bit. ;)

RE: Slide out clicks at button, doesn't move

I would see if the drive motor is visible. If so maybe have someone toggle the button with a volt meter on the driver motor leads. No power, then it isn,t the motor. Or put the leads on the batt posts and hit the switch. No big draw it probably isn.t the motor.

RE: After market carburetor

well for the price I would consider giving it a try. I have done a few on other type motors and all have been a success. Lots of quick echoes on "chinese junk" when more than likely some of the stuff they run is the same to start with.

RE: Firman generator on sale at Costco

I’m a fan of a Honda or Yamaha; dependable, repairable if they ever quit working, High resale value, not made in Communist China! must be loving it in the dark. So where are some of the honda's and their parts made? :S

RE: removing shades & valance

Man it has been a long time. As I recall mine are screwed right into the wall. Used a long screw bit. Finding those screw heads was a challenge.

RE: Buying RV from a far away dealer

I refuse to pay 7K in blood money just "thinking" that I them may get good service locally. I bought mine three states away but only saved 5K. :R
