RE: Sharp convection microwave

Our Sharp convection microwave (model 1870, April 2004 mfr. date) did the same thing a few years ago. Stopped after 59 seconds. It was the damper motor. Not too difficult to replace and not too expensive to order online. It's been running fine ever since. Denny and Cindy Henderson fulltiming, currently at Nature Coast Landings in Crystal River, FL

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

Enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway! Be aware there is no fuel available anywhere ON the Parkway. You will have to leave the Parkway for fuel. Denny and Cindy Henderson fulltiming, currently in the heart of Amish country in Pennsylvania at Mill Bridge Village Camp Resort

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

I'm looking for a campground close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for our 40 foot class A motorhome around the middle of May for a week to 10 days. The parkway is over 450 miles long. Don't really want to be too far off the beaten path. We want to ride the parkway end to end on our Harley trike. We don't really care whether we are in the middle, south or north end. Planning to spend a couple nights away from the motorhome so we don't need a place with a lot of amenities but would like somewhere safe with 50 amp and water. Does anyone have a place they would recommend? Try Raccoone Holler near Glendale springs. Call first. Could also try Honey Bear CG in Boone, Grandfather Mountain Cg in Boone, and Flintlock CG in Boone. Not sure about Bear Den. Could call. It is near Little Switzerland. What state(s) are these in? That's part of my difficulty in doing my research - I'm having to check Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. Thank you for your reply. These are all in North Carolina. Bear Den uses a Spruce Pine address.

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

I live 15 min off BRP in Brevard NC. Riding from one end to the other can be a pretty boring ride at times. There are some great sites but a lot of nothing in between. Lots of overlooks but after a day of riding most look the same. Much as I love the BRP, western NC and western VA, you are right! We lived for 3 seasons on the BRP at Crabtree Falls (Meadows) near Little Switzerland and enjoyed countless drives on the entire parkway. But most of the drive is mind-numbing with nothing to see because so many of the overlooks are completely grown over blocking all views. If one was very limited for time, I would recommend the section in NC from Asheville to Cherokee. The entire BRP is a treasure, but it can be too much of the same after awhile. Enjoy!
