RE: laramie, WY to Colter Bay Village, Montana

I would take I/80 to Rawlins then 287 to 26 to Colter Bay

RE: Booking Camping sites for 2021

At a particularly popular campground in Florida we have booked for Jan 2022 already!

RE: Torque on Lug Nuts

All lug nuts should be retorqued after about 50 miles. eg: car, truck, or motor home! Anytime a garage has done mine, I have had to sign a form agreeing to return for the retorque.

RE: Freightliner chassis

We had a Freightliner and now a Spartan. I think the Freightliner had fewer problems, and there are many more dealers for them. Spartans are usually only on higher-end coaches but Freightliner is under lots of high-enders too. Both are well designed and built. I found each company easy to deal with.

RE: New Wiper Blades

Costco always has them at a good price.

RE: 2015 Itasca Ellipse 42QD Vacuum system

You will have a circuit breaker. Take anything (drop light leaf-blower etc) 110V and try the outlet to see if it has power.

RE: Best route to go through Jacksonville, FL

Although there is no real difference in time the EAST beltway seems to have "gentler" traffic.

RE: Best route to the Grand Tetons

I like taking 287 out of Rawlins to 26. It's a very pretty ride.

RE: campground recommendation

We like both Cheyenne KOA and Cabela's in Sidney. Which we stay at depends on the distance to the next stop or from the last one.

RE: Massachusetts in October

RE: Rotating tires and checking the brakes

On our first motor home I had the tires rotated, after the dealer did it he told me don't bother to rotate the tires again; it's not necessary. He could have told me that before he did the job and got paid! Since we have done about 180,000 miles without rotating and never saw any unusual wear.

RE: Best Manufacturer And How Long Do We Go

Newmar and Entegra are in the same league. They have "hung wall" construction, as their main quality. Either is very capable of boondocking especially if you do your "solar thing" however all though they are very maneuverable they are very heavy ,43,000 lb for the smallest and they need a secure footing. One of us likes the Entegra interiors better, otherwise it's a toss up. Find the right dealer!

RE: Winnemucca to Klamath Falls on 140

If I remember correctly the sign says "NO FUEL NEXT 140 MILES" as you leave Winnemucca.

RE: Good route from Denver to Newport, Oregon

US 20 west of I/84 is a nice ride. There are some twisties and climbs but nothing scary. In the twisty section there are lots of pull offs so you can let the traffic go by. West of Bend, going down there are enough turns and switch backs that you have to work a bit and you have to be on the lookout for a "Sasquash" crossing the road.

RE: Marker Lights

Amazon has a million of them. The trick is finding yours.

RE: flat towing a toad

We have towed a lot of Jeeps and all worked well. A Colorado or Ranger would work too.

We had a '10 -'11 Journey 40 L which we loved. 75,000 miles in about 6 years with very little trouble and the Magnum chassis has unbelievable storage.

RE: Tag axle question

They are the same, only the tags are turned around to fit properly.

RE: Leaving tow bar connected to MH

I spray it with anti-corrosion oil and cover it.

RE: Concrete driveway thickness??

It's not a permanent fix but a 4 x 4' piece of 3/4" plywood under each wheel set would distribute the weight.
