RE: Onan 5500 Generator in Holiday Rambler 1998 Endeavor

My Onan 7500 was doing the same thing a couple years ago. It is a 2002 and I had serviced it before our trip. When I got back I took it to my RV mechanic and he found bad/ rotted fuel lines, changed them and it now runs fine. With the age of your coach this could be the problem. When I had serviced the generator I didn't check the lines and I wouldn't have been able too see them up in the service area. Good luck.

RE: Firan Europremier

yes this is a great site, but if my math is correct that is a 30 year old motorhome which makes this an even greater site. would love to see pictures of the motorhome and thanks for the post. My motorhome is a 2002 and is 21 years old that is what made me notice the age. It just seems like yesterday that we bought it.

RE: NYALIC as Clear coat replacement on roof????

I went to order one spray can for $24.50 but canceled the order when it looked like my shipping cost was $31.00 plus. I will be watching this site for results. I also pulled up Amazon but they did not seem to carry NYALIC. Thanks for the information.

RE: generator fuel line

We have a 2001 Phaeton with the 7500 Onan diesel and I had serviced the generator and it had run fine before we had left on vacation. We left about 2weeks later and when I went to use it If didn't want to start or would not run very long, I thought that I had installed the fuel filter wrong and had air in the lines. When we returned home I took it to our motorhome mechanic and he found the fuel lines were bad and changed them. It runs perfect now. I bought the motorhome new and I guess after 20 plus years they deteriorate.

RE: Low coolant Question

My motorhome is a 2001 with the c9 Cat, about 2years ago I had to replace my overflow tank because it started leaking. The tanks are made of a plastic so they do go bad. If you are low on coolant it is probably the tank. Check-it. When coolant goes low there is almost always a leak.

RE: A spare wheel might be harder to source than you think!

My chassis is a2002 Freightliner, I had 22" steel wheels that I have replaced with Alcoa aluminum wheels so I have four steel wheels that i need to get rid of. I have kept one for my spare tire, I gave one to a friend and that leaves me with four left. If anyone needs a spare wheel you can contact me through this site. I live in the Placerville area i California.

Slide-out awning

I keep my motorhome in a covered facility and the last time I parked it in there I bumped the slide out awning on a support post and knocked off a piece of the awning on the left side. The broken piece is ring approx. a 1/2" wide with a foot protruding from the ring with a rubber end on the foot. It looks like it fastens next to the roll out mechanism. What does this piece do, do I need it, and where can I get a replacement part for it?
