RE: First big trip - Newbie questions

I always fill it to mitigate murphy's law.
We've had some campground water that tastes so bad it made the coffee taste terrible too. We've also shown up to campgrounds and they have the water off due to repairs.
Better to be caught with than without.

Fifth Wheel Hitch - tried searcing

I'm sure this has been asked but I could not find with a search.
Want to put a fifth wheel hitch in bed that is easy to remove so I can drop truck camper in it when we want to use truck camper. Looks like the mounting rails are bolted to bed so that probably doesn't seem too easy to remove without wrenching on it.
Anything like what I'm needing exist out there?

RE: Truck Fire Ford SD 6.7

OK Allstate first offer $30000 via Edmunds Blue book I got an offer for $36500 from Carmax that does not include the $1500 Leer Topper.
Sent that to Allstate guy hopefully he will bump his offer up a bit. I saw a 2014 F350 almost identical to our 2012 except no topper and a shortbed on the local Carmax lot. The sticker said $54000?! Must be a mistake
In my opinion -
You aren't going to find an available 2014 going for $36k. The $54k is more reasonable. Save those ads. The databases like KBB can't keep up with the demand pressures on prices.

RE: Removing built up sealant?

I've had good luck using these scrapers along with a heat gun.

RE: pick up Eagle Cap 1165

So we did have food,40 gals of water,BBQ, one 30lb propane tank full and does have a gen set, solar panel, Sat dish on it. I am 10,200 on the rear axle at the scale I stopped at. The tires are rated at 2910 each in the rear that should put me on the tires at 11,640. The camper we found out has a propane leak some where in the tank area, i think it might be the switch valve/regulator, I am going to soap test as soon the rain stops, the bathroom vent doesn't close all the way and small little things. Yes it was the one in Evergreen
Congrats! Those sound like things that can be there even on a new camper. Awesome rig!

RE: pick up Eagle Cap 1165

I think we saw that camper online - from Evergreen, CO?
What is wrong with the camper?

RE: Jack Misbehaving

If it shows up again, try swapping the motors around to help isolate the problem.
You mentioned in one of the posts that the motor is older so it might be time to replace it.

RE: Truck Camper Models with 3 Beds?

Have 2 kids and we need them in separate beds now they are getting older.
How old is "older"?
The bunks I've seen aren't that great for kids beyond 8 or 9 years old - they won't support the weight, and they are pretty cramped for space.
Young teenagers. Thanks!

Truck Camper Models with 3 Beds?

Please note: By 3 beds I mean 3 places to sleep like the dinette and a bunk or the couch counting as a bed.
Hi. We are in a position to upgrade since our 2002 F350 SRW was stolen. As a SRW we didn't want to get too heavy on the camper as we pull a 21' boat too.
Since we need a new truck we are thinking of going F450 or F350 dually which gives us more options in campers.
Anyway, I checked the FAQ's and didn't see this on there but I'm sure some of you might be able to rattle off the short list to help me narrow it down.
Have 2 kids and we need them in separate beds now they are getting older.
Which truck camper models offer 3 different places to sleep?
Thanks!
