RE: Upstairs Living Room

Bought one last year and love it. It separates the living room so we don't feel like we are sitting in the kitchen which is more like a house. As far as cooling, not a problem and if it was I would rather be a little warmer in the living room than the bedroom. As far as the stairs, you're going to have stairs one way or the other, if you want something from the kitchen in the middle of the night you're not going down stairs while half asleep.

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

........... Better choices, Hwy 209 to Hotsprings, Hwy 226A to Spruce Pine, Hwy 80 Marion to Micaville to name a few. Thanks for the recommendations - I'll add Hwy 209 to my list; Have driven the other two and totally agree on their scenic value and the difference in traffic, drivers and attitudes when compared to The Dragon. Still, its a lot of fun in a 2.0L turbo Solstice even when staying in my lane and around the speed limit. Too busy watching the road to check out the scenery. Just to be clear. Do NOT try to tow a large TT, or 5er from Marion UP, or DOWN Highway 80. MH either for that matter. there is even a big sign that says DON'T do it. It's OK once you pass under the BRP going up, but getting there is not a easy thing Hwy 80 and 209 where about MC riding.

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

Stay as far away as possible from Tale of the Dragon. It's a nightmare, plenty of better roads for riding. I guess we all have our own definition of 'better'.:B One camping possibility I overlooked which may be of interest is Lake Powhatan. Convenient access to the BRP near Asheville and it does have some full hookup sites. My definition of 'better' would be scenic and more interesting roads that have less people and less traffic doing stupid things like trying to get a selfie on the famous Tale of the Dragon that sometimes get others killed which is based on 35 yrs of riding in western NC. Search the Youtube videos if you need conformation. Better choices, Hwy 209 to Hotsprings, Hwy 226A to Spruce Pine, Hwy 80 Marion to Micaville to name a few. Tail of the Dragon :W Sorry I thought it was a story about a dragon

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

Less than an hour's drive from the southern end of the BRP, the Cherohala Skyway runs from Robbinsville, NC to Tellico Plains, TN and the scenery is, in our opinion, just as good as that on the Parkway. Combine that 40 miles with the 10 mile Tail of the Dragon for a great day of riding the trike. On the eastern end of the Skyway, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is a nice stop with a short hike to the 'big trees'. In TN, take a side trip to Bald River Falls (visible from the road). RE: 2nd Trip and Major Issues

2. Water worked great at hookup. Now, all water works except kitchen, it dribbles. Took head off, no blockage. Are you still hooked up to city water or not? If not hooked up does the water tank have water in it and did you turn the water pump on? Just asking because you didn't give much info even in your response posts for me to figure out your water problem.. As far as the awning, no idea because I have a 16 year old TT and it has a manual awning so no clue on those electric ones.. Sorry.. Mitch Big hint, the shower works.

RE: Zion -- where to stay in mid April

I'm not Zion expert but I thought Watchman was reservable. It is, but it's 1st come first serve from November thru Feb. They are going in April so no problem, plenty of sites just outside the gate also.

RE: Adding a 2nd battery

2 New 6 volt batteries ran parallel is the way to go. You have to run them in series to get 12v.

RE: Outback 325BH dinette to bed question

Your right I didn't find any. Is it to much space or not enough space with the backs down? If there is extra maybe the short backs in the upright position would fill in.

RE: Smoky Mountain Ideas

Great Smokey's? Must see's on my list would be - Gatlinburg - Great Smokey's National Park including Clingman Dome, Chimney Top, etc - Biltmore Estate, Ashville - Chimney Top east of Ashville - Pigeon Forge, check out the dinner shows I think you mean Chimney Rock, Gatlinburg is T shirt shops and tourist junk shops with a few exceptions and traffic is ridiculous.

RE: Adding a 2nd battery

Hook the batteries together in parallel and run everything form that. I would start with 2 new deep cycles.

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

I live 15 min off BRP in Brevard NC. Riding from one end to the other can be a pretty boring ride at times. There are some great sites but a lot of nothing in between. Lots of overlooks but after a day of riding most look the same. Little Switzerland is a good stop, Lunch, views, small shops. Some small towns just off parkway. Cherokee is a waste of time. Maggie valley has Wheels through Time Bike museum. Waynesville is a good lunch spot. Asheville is good for anything, Blowing Rock another nice town. Google campgrounds near these.

From what I can find it looks like you drop a back cushion in with the 2 seats. https://www.holmanrv.com/New-Inventory-2018-Keystone-RV-Trailer-325BH-TRAVEL-TRAILER-OUTBACK-Batavia-Ohio-3242979

RE: Trying to buy new Jeep (hard)

DW and I have been looking for a new or good used toad. We have had several Honda CR-V’s in the past but alas, they are no longer towable we also want something as high up as possible to reduce the size of the drop hitch we need and the resulting tail drag on occasion. This has led us to the Jeep Cherokee. Wow, what an experience! Finding real facts out has been quite a challenge. We know that only the Active drive II 4x4 is towable since it has a transfer case that can be switched into neutral. The problem is that when looking online a dealer stock, it only shows 4x4, not if it is active I or active II. This makes finding a suitable model a very tedious process of calling on each car. Today we drove 2 hours to see and buy a new Cherokee only to find out it did not have the correct driveline. We were then told by the salesman we could not get the Lattitude Plus with the active II transfer case. So DW went and got a Cherokee brochure and showed him where the Latitude Plus can indeed be so equipped. He then told us it would have to have the 4 cylinder with turbo or the V-6. That also proved to be false. We came home and I scoured the Jeep.com site again and attempted to “build” the model we wish with the active II system. Nowhere can one make that selection. Only 4x4 is allowed with no differentiation between the two types. One more strange note. On the Jeep site on some models two options for the 9 spend tranny are offered one costing $1205 more. Curious, I clicked on the detail description of both to see the difference. Both had EXACTLY the same wording! No explanation of why one is more or what benefit it offers. Now the local dealer has found one in CO he can get for us. No thanks, we don’t want the first 2k miles on the vehicle to not be us. I suspect in the end we will sit down with someone that actually knows jeeps if we can find anyone and order what we want from the factory. Would prefer not to do that but may be the only way. I doubt they will drive it 2000 miles, it will get put on a truck.

RE: Charlotte, NC to Valdosta, Ga

Going to be headed south from Charlotte on the 26th and looking for best rout towing a 34' 5r. In past have gone all the way east to 95 from Columbia but 95 through South Carolina is a bear. Google maps runs me on I20 out of Columbia to Augusta and then US1 to Waycross. Just wondering how that route would be as an alternative. Google Maps will pick a route depending on traffic so it depends when you pick your route. 77S to 75/20S looks good. 6hrs, 47 min

RE: Blocking a Member

How wonderful life must be that one's problems are so insignificant that another's expression of a thought with which one disagreed would put one in a tizzy. Then there's those who can never pass up an opertunity to insult someone with a different point of view. Then there are those that think their opinion has more weight than others. What is this high school. He blocked 3 people, surely he can keep track of them and not read something they post.

RE: Toilet pipe

My son-in-law has a Salem trailer. The 3"pipe from toilet to tank looks like it goes to about 2" from bottom on tank. Therefore the toilet solids will not flow out in the tank. I think the pipe needs to be shortened. My question is the pipe gluedto a fitting in the tank, or does it slide in a rubber type grommet? Does it just look like it or is it actually 2" from the bottom?
