Video: Bears Ears & Natural Bridges National Monuments

One of America's newest National Monuments, Bears Ears has been the subject of intense debate since it was first proposed. No matter your position, no one can argue that Bears Ears encompasses one of the largest collections of Ancient Puebloan, or Anasazi archaeological sites in the nation. It also entirely surrounds Natural Bridges, one of the nation's first National Monuments. So as we go camping in southeastern Utah, boondocking right within Bears Ears, we bring you along hiking to explore both: https://youtu.be/oiv0836b3Lo

Video: Canyons of the Ancients National Monument

Our big 100th episode of Grand Adventure was supposed to be about both Canyons of the Ancients AND Hovenweep National Monuments, but our RV had other ideas. While camping at Mancos State Park, and en route to another camp at Bears Ears National Monument in Utah, we visit the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, tour the Lowry Pueblo ruins that date to the 10th Century, and hike to more ruins in the National Monument's Sand Canyon before our RV left us on the side of the road: https://youtu.be/-T87Ye32q0Y

RE: Video: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (CO)

Thanks First Tracks, that was an enjoyable ride. We were in Silverton and Ouray a couple of years ago but we didn't take the train. Beautiful area indeed. I enjoy YOUR videos as well, very informative! :B Dan Thanks so much, Dan!

RE: Video: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (CO)

Here's a video I shot back then of the gorge. This will illustrate why the train moves slowly through certain sections. :E Yup, pretty much! :B Thanks for sharing the clip, Dan! Silverton is a fun town, we enjoyed that very much. As did we. In fact, this marks the third camping season in a row that we ended up in Silverton, one way or another. We spent much more time covering the Silverton area in depth in our Million Dollar Highway episode.

Did anyone see the video where the steam engine blew a piston? I'll definitely have to go look for that one. Here ya go: about 35:20 Thanks!

If you enjoy the old narrow gauge steam railroads give the Cumbres & Toltec a try. You will enjoy it also. Take it from the Antonito end, just south of Alamosa. It's already on the list. Along with the D&SNGRR it's the only remaining vestige of the Denver & Rio Grande's once vast narrow gauge network.

While camping in nearby Mancos State Park, we take a ride aboard this famed heritage coal-fired steam-powered railway that dates to 1882, and has been designated a National Historic Landmark and Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. This is one of the most sought-after attractions for travelers and RV'ers in all of Colorado: https://youtu.be/Uw087seVq_o

RE: Video: Canyonlands National Park & Moab (UT) boondocking

Another great video! Some of those cliff-side roads looked pretty tricky -- especially when the camera was hanging out the window on the driver's side. Wow! Ha! That camera was handheld. :D

Video: Canyonlands National Park & Moab (UT) boondocking

Canyonlands encompasses over 337,000 acres of high Eastern Utah desert including colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches, and spires. Water and gravity have been the primary architects of this land, sculpting layers of rock into the rugged landscape you see today. While boondocking on state land for free camping along Dalton Wells Road, we explore Gemini Bridges, travel Island in the Sky, descend the precipitous Shafer Trail, visit Thelma & Louise Point, check out the climbers along Wall Street, grab a burger at Milt's Stop 'n Eat, and preview the BLM campgrounds along the Colorado Riverway Recreation Area: https://youtu.be/uqEP4TIOpKM

Great video! Thanks for posting it. Just wondering -- was that a snake track in the sand at 15:18?? Thanks for watching! That was actually a lizard track you saw.

^^ This guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Idaho stinks and isn't worth visiting. Please just...trust me. Thank you. I stand corrected. ;)

Video: Moab boondocking & Arches National Park

Moab is home to two of Utah's "Mighty 5" National Parks, and in this video we explore Arches National Park while camping for free by boondocking on state lands along Dalton Wells Road, a place with its own very unique history from World War II. We hike to both Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch, share the quirky story behind the mis-naming of both, visit Park Avenue and Balanced Rock, and check out both the Devil's Garden Campground within the park and the nearby Utah desert town of Moab: https://youtu.be/VVkLtUp1-tw

Video: 5 Favorite Campgrounds in Southern Idaho

Southern Idaho is a virtual playground in summer, with a surprisingly diverse geology and climate. It's also not as crowded for camping or as well known as it is in some other Western states. In this video we share 5 of our favorite campgrounds in Southern Idaho, ranging from a glacially-fed mountain lake to hot springs, from a summer lakefront paradise to sand dunes and even rock monoliths along the historic California Trail: https://youtu.be/IuHqzb-iKr0

RVX The RV Experience

Back in mid-March, the inaugural RVX event was held in Salt Lake City by the RV Industry Association. It's already the RV industry's largest trade show. Rather than a consumer show, this is a chance for manufacturers and suppliers to show off upcoming models and emerging technologies to dealers and the media, as well as take orders and build on manufacturer/supplier relationships. We were lucky enough to attend, and produced a two-part video series from RVX. Both contain general scenes from the show, but each one has its own series of in-depth presentations and interviews. Part 1 includes what's new and exciting from Dometic, new accessibility-enhanced motorhomes from Winnebago, and a sit-down with the President of KOA regarding their vision for the "Campground of the Future": https://youtu.be/kL8rPajvC2Q Part 2 includes a new on-board RV weighing system from Keystone RV (with help from Dexter Axle, MORryde and ASA), as well as a no-holds-barred, carbon fiber concept travel trailer from KZ RV: https://youtu.be/o1o8ripqJJg Enjoy!

RE: Two new Utah RV travel videos

Love the videos you do. We stumbled upon them when you were in Colorado, and when we find more of your work--we take time to enjoy. Thank You.. Wow, thank you so much! Looking at your handle all I can think of is Lili von Shtupp in Blazing Saddles. :)
