RE: 2022 F350 order options for TC

OP, I like/agree with all your choices for truck/options with the only exception being I personally would probably skip the 4x4 on a dually to get a lower camper & COG. I’m really thinking the need for 4x4 through. My current Ram I never put it in 4 wheel. Worst “off-road” I will do is down Deschutes canyon and that is just gravel and washboard. I have the benefit of being retired, so I can pick and chose where and when I go. Biggest concern would be a wet and slippery boat ramp when I don’t have the weight of the camper on the rear axle. I do need the Supercab/8’ bed configuration to fit by garage and turning radius for my house. I realize there are drawbacks vs crew cab/8’ bed but it’s just too long. I could do CC/ shortbed, but that limits my camper selection and is dicey on COG. I think SC/longbed is a better choice than CC/SB.

RE: 2022 F350 order options for TC

Have you quizzed a dealer about ordering? Mine says up to 6 months on delivery after order. Yes, we are aware of the lead time and supply issues. I really don’t have any big expectations until next spring. Thank you.

2022 F350 order options for TC

Getting close to pulling the trigger on ordering a new F350 and getting back into a TC. Not going with any super heavy TC's like the Host or EC, so F450 not needed. I definitely have made the commitment for a DRW, Ford F350 Lariat trim. Getting a 4x4 Supercab to reduce overall length as we rarely have other passengers. 7.3 gas motor with 4.30 differential. Some options I'm looking at: Camper package (of course) Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera with back up assist (frequently towing a 19' boat) Lariat Value Package Skid plates (no FX4 needed) A/T tires Upfitter switches (no plan for use, nice to have in case...) factory spray in bed liner Rain sensing wipers/ heated steering wheel That's about it. Probably passing on adaptive steering. I hear they are not building orders with this and not cheap. What about the 5th wheel/ gooseneck prep? it gives you an additional crossmember in the bed and the 7 pin connector in the bed- $500. What about the Trailer TPMS/Customer placed trailer camera- does this enable the TC camera to show up on the screen without an additional monitor? $725. looking for feedback before placing the order. Thanks.

Mt Rainier and North Cascades

Planning on 2 nites in Mt Rainier next week. From what I can find, most NPS camping is first come/ first serve. Plan on arriving on a Sunday to hopefully get a spot from weekend crowd leaving. Any recommendations or tips? We are in a 22M Minnie Winnie and don’t need hook ups. After Rainier, going to Leavenworth for a night. Any private RV parks there to recommend? After that, I have 2 nights reserved riverfront at Beebe Bridge. Then heading up through Winthrop and through North Cascades. Just winging it through there. Recommendations appreciated for here. Then heading back by way of Anacortes/Whidbey Island and crossing over to OP area.

RE: new Ford 7.3 gas with 3.55 axle ratio, does it work?

I’m considering a new F350 7.3 gas Supercab SRW longbed to be paired up with something like an Adventurer 86fb or Wolf Creek 850 and tow my 3500 pound boat and trailer. 3.73 or 4.30 gears?

RE: Used “Canadian” trucks

Is there a Maple Syrup dispenser on the Canuck models?

Used “Canadian” trucks

Been looking at a few used newer model year used heavy duty pick ups. Some I have seen here in the Pacific NW are having Canadian window stickers from new that say “Not for Sale in US”. Dealers are not openly disclosing these are built for Canada ????. Any potential issues? The one I test drove 2020 Ford F-350 seemed fine and I didn’t realize until I left and did deeper research. I didn’t seem to notice the speedo reading in km. Funny, the dealer said it was the owner’s previous truck from new. Liars.

RE: Adventurer 901sb

BTW the AF 865 has way more storage than ant of the other non slide campers. Ours is on a F350 SC, not a crew cab. I’m leaning towards this AF865/ F350 SRW Supercab 7.3 gas combo. Can you post weights and pictures?

RE: Adventurer 901sb

Cassette toilet, no thanks. My want for a mid bath is I like the open concept and views out the back. I’ve had a AF990 and don’t care for the bath right as you walk in.

Adventurer 901sb

Looking at hard side, non slide, mid-bath campers. The Adventurer 901SB fits the bill. In their words The 901SB fits 6ft and larger short-bed and all 8? long-bed trucks. Since I am stay out from scratch picking a truck and camper set up (moving from a class c), is it better on one of these short bed compatible TC’s to get a SB crew cab, or a Ford supercab long bed? I’m not wanting the extra length of a Crewcab Longbed. Any other recommendations on non slide mid bath? AF 865 Others? Thanks.

RE: New Ford 7.3 Gas

What type of payload rating are you seeing for F350 SRW Lariat with the 7.3/ 4.30 gear combination? I’d like to get rid of my class C MH and get a non-slide TC. I really like what I read about the new Lance 960 or Cirrus 920 or AF865. All of these will push 3000 plus dry weight. Doable with the 7.3 SRW?

RE: New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

Thanks for all the feedback. As “Kewl” as the Tremor package looks, it’s not a good fit for a full size TC. Maybe a pop up, but not a hard side.

RE: New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

https://www.fleet.ford.com/content/dam/aem_fleet/en_us/fleet/towing-guides/2021_Ford_RVandTrailerTowingGuide.pdf Might want to get the camper package. Looks like the Guide puts this at 3373 pounds payload. The option selector on the Ford website would not let me select the camper option without kicking me out of the Tremor package, which I really want. Tremor also adds a sway bar. Tire ratings are 3640 pounds. Roughly, this gives 650 pounds below payload. Two people, gear, and water will probably put me over by some amount.

New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

Thinking about getting a new Ford Lariat F-350 CC SB SRW with the 7.3 gas engine. The Tremor package has 18” wheels with 35” Duratrac tires, 2” factory lift, 4.30 gears, and off-road springs and shocks. I think this will come in with around 3600 pound payload. Do you think you could safely put a 8-11 Northern Lite camper on this? Actual dry weight 2715.
