RE: How do you sell a relatively new rv and downsize/moneywise?

No comment on your lack of success, however -
...... best way to sell *ANYTHING*:
Place ad in Craigslist. *NO* e-mail. Leave the VM number (see next).
Get an automated voice mail phone number. (about $8 per month).
Give complete description of what you have for sale, and price.
(The one I use will allow 5 minute outgoing message - I usually only
need about one minute).
Advise callers to leave THEIR phone number if interested -AND- you
will return calls in order received.
This eliminates bogus calls & calls during all hours of day & night.
Use a Tracfone (or other cheap cell phone) to return calls. Only give your *real* phone number to obviously serious callers.
You will know if the price is "right" almost immediately!
Worked for me....
Sold a TT and a Boat in less than 24 hours.
The TT: Placed ad about at midnight. I looked at my calls received list (total of 95!!) at 5PM, the same day. First call had been at 2AM. When returned = the buyer.
TT was a done deal the same evening! Even had calls offering more than asking price (I honored my word as to price I advertised).
Fishing boat: had (only!) 7 calls, same day. - Again, first caller bought it.
BTW - when sold - change outgoing message....To "sold".
:C
.
I did the same with my TT, put it up on the buy&sell for what I paid for it new on a tuesday evening, wednesday at 1pm it was leaving hooked to another truck and the money was in the bank. I lost maybe a $1K after 3 1/2 years of use. I could have asked for more but I just wanted to get it out of my hair and yard.
If I get the itch to go camping a few times a year, I'll go rent one, at the end of the week, I drop it off and drive away, no maintenance, no headaches and no pile of money tied up.

RE: GMC Sierra EV

Wow. 750 HP! 400 mile range. They're getting better. I have all the tow vehicle I'll ever need but this is really something.
GMC EV pickup
That's an "estimated" range, under the best of conditions. And, where do you find 800 volt charging stations?

RE: Adding fan behind refrigerator...worthwhile??

I'm not in the same temperature zone as you are but without a doubt adding a 4 inch fan at the upper vent made a fair bit of difference. It was a 3 speed fan and I was lucky enough to have 2 unused spade terminals on the back of the fridge made for this, on all but the hottest days I had it on the lowest speed, 90+F days I upped it to med or high as required and wouldn't believe the heat coming out of the vent. It definitely dropped the interior fridge temps and sped up the cooling process by about 1/2 the time. I don't know what the dB rating was but I could barely hear it at night during quiet times. I don't know what the brand name was, just 12DV DC with a 3 speed switch.

RE: Un-Even trailer

Gregory. From Erie PA.
Sounds like you have a Ram 1500 with not enough payload, for your trailer's loaded tongue weight.:W
Or maybe it's a Ford with a bent frame, lol.

RE: 07 nuwa hitchhiker 2

Go outside and look where the gravity feed port is for filling, it will be close to that on the inside, most likely under the bench seats or bed on the driver side of the trailer. Then look under the trailer for the drain valve.

RE: storage

what happens to the rubbery roof antenna?
Fisherman- what brand do you use?
thanks guys your great help is very much appreciated
I had the Gold Shield one, the only thing I added was a very light box made of 1x6 cedar, bulged top, to cover the antenna and couple of old cushions between the antenna and bathroom vent. Bone dry up there.

RE: Storing My Diesel Truck Over Winter Advice

Some things like oil seals may start to dry out, brakes get a lot of surface rust and have to be changed out. Calipers may seize up too, those are some of the "hard" things.

RE: storage

I used one for the last 3 winters with no problems, left the bathroom vent open 1/4 inch. Doors on trailers don't seal all that well so there was always some air movement. I leave all drawers and cabinets open and any under bed or seat storage is also open.

RE: Heating the Garage

Depending on the size of your garage, what about a direct vent wall heater? My 20x22' insulated garage costs about $150 to keep at about 45F from mid November until about mid April. It's plumbed into the NG line although propane in big 110lb tanks is an option.

RE: Winter Battery Storage

My 2¢ !
I do NOT believe in leaving a battery on a tender for days on end. If you are using a tender, connect it to an old fashioned lamp timer. Only charge for about 4 hours a day.
I'll see your 2cents and up you a nickle. If they weren't made to be left on for extended periods of time, I'm sure the world of nay sayer's would have taken them to court and won lots of money. I haven't and likely won't see it. I've had batteries last for up to 12 years doing it and I'll leave it at that.

RE: Cummins vs Hummer Towing 6,000 lbs

18 mpg towing a 5er? Must have been the new Mattel model.
Time to see the eye doctor, I didn't say a 5er, it was a 5K lb.

RE: Cummins vs Hummer Towing 6,000 lbs

That's almost not believable from the Cummins. I had an '04 towing a 5k trailer and never got less that 18mpg. Something wrong with that engine.
Almost as unbelievable as getting 18mpg towing a 5klb trailer….
I agree! Lot's of inflated towing claims. A box behind you at 70 will reduce your mileage for sure.
Not inflated, I didn't tow at Kirk speed, max 60 MPH and yes 18 mpg towing the trailer, sorry if I don't launch like a rabbit and have smoke coming off the brakes 3 feet before the stop sign. Have a great day..
Did you use the overhead or fill each tank to the top? Was your 04 RAM CUMMINS a stick or auto?
Now you mention 60 towing the video was 70 towing. You led us to believe you also were towing 70 by not saying you were towing at 60. Details matter.
I looked at the "Lie-o-meter" infrequently, I'd fill the tank to first click and then add one gallon(there was always that room). It was an '04.5 bought in July of 04, had the 325HP600, 6 speed stick with a 3.73 rear end. Sorry about the 60 vs 70.

Somebody needs either:
1. New batteries in their calculator
2. A crash course in math skills, or
3. A reminder that honesty is always the best policy
:C
I use the calculator on the computer, I passed Math and why would I fluff the results.
