RE: End of Direct TV SD should I switch to Dish?

Don’t know what there going to do ether. Was watching NASCAR and a storm moved in causing bad reception. A message popped up asking if I want to change to a lower resolution, I clicked yes and and it went SD

RE: Television mount

With new TVS being light weight and thin framed I would make it removable when traveling. Lay it on the bed. Our 40” Samsung got vertical lines down the middle after rough trip. My guess it was an ribbon wire got a short in it from being bounced around. . I have a spring loaded clamp on the bottom of the frame now and the lines went away.

RE: A Very Touching Movie

Try “Seaspiracy”, I found it on Netflix. It will open your eyes on illegal fishing and the effects on our planet.

RE: Dry as a bone,…again

I had a tank that I was sure there was water in it when it ran out. I raised the end of the tank opposite of the pump. Made a big difference

RE: Nascar Follies

Tires were meant to run on a wet track, not a river.

RE: Bilstein shocks, oh yeah.

Count me in as a happy Bilstien owner. Started out OEM, went to Ranchos then Bilstiens. The difference is amazing.

RE: Nascar Follies

Yes it was. The 48 did the fastest pit stop timed this year. If they hadn’t of done that I’m pretty sure the 5 would have won. Those 4 cars were amazing.

RE: This should help with future GM EV tow vehicles.

Looks like the coal and gas powered power plants will be running at full capacity.

RE: Rv-ers prefer Duramax?

Lets see, all those early Duramax injector failures cost many around $4500 to replace. But that was early on so that does not count, just like the 6.0 and 6.4 Powerstroke don't count. My GM dealer replaced my 03 injectors for $2900. It had 145000 miles on it, but gave me the “loyalty price” because of the early failures. The Indy dealer wanted $5000 If it was less than 7 years old then you got charged $2900 too much. But not like the Flowerjoke of that era was any better and I put injectors in my “bulletproof” 07 5.9 Cummins at about 120k miles. Only difference is they were much easier to replace so it was like 6 beers and most of a Saturday to do them. Plus I wouldn’t touch a Dodge 48re back then with a long stick. Bottom line, if a guy wanted the best overall diesel pickup in the early/mid 2000s, the Dmax was it. Unless you got bad injectors. My truck, without look at the receipt was close to 15 years old when I had it done.

RE: Help with Forest River

Well said GDS. On two Bighorns I owned from 2 different dealers I found the dealerships were 90% of my problems. On final inspection of the last one we purchased I found an end on a tv cable was bad. They said they had to take pictures and send them to Bighorn before they could work on it. I knew I was in trouble right then and there. I just hooked up took it home and fixed my self. Had taken it back for poor brakes. After they “fixed” it I got to the end of the dealers lot, no brakes. Just kept on driving and paid to have it done at home. Grease all over inside the drums.

RE: Anybody Using iPad as a Laptop Replacement?

I’ve been using iPad for everything for years. Recently I’ve have been power of attorney for my 97 year dad with dementia. He inherited a large quantity of stocks from grandparents. Little did I know he had it in a major mess and hadn’t paid taxes for 2 years. Found the iPad was a little cumbersome for dealing for all the searches, numbers and letters I was doing. I bought one of those mini computers and wireless keyboards and hooked all up a 22” flat screen I had. Wow that thing is super fast and I’m enjoying using it. Problem I forgot how difficult windows can be but I’m getting use to it. Caution! Make sure your Windows isn’t syncing with your iPad and iPhone, going to take long time to get my iPad back to where I like it.

RE: Nascar Follies

They had a clip on Race Hub that they were testing short tracks with rain tires. Not sure I’d want to sit in the rain for the whole race, but I could watch the circus on TV.

RE: Air Conditioning Silencer from Wacko Products???

I had 2 Bighorns and over at their forum someone came up with “the tent in the vent”. Basically the air comes straight down, hits the cover, and has to find its way to the side ducts. Fix is to make a piece of sheet metal into the shape of a V. Turn the V upside down like this ^. Furnace tape it to the ducts and fill any gaps so when the air come down it hits the^ and flows directly to the vents. I made my V with curves it for a better flow. Made air quieter and much stronger. Only had one AC in our Bighorns and it worked great. Air to the bedroom was very much improved. Only downside is all the sawdust you have to clean up that was blown out of the vents, LOL. Our Nu-Wa AC was installed much better and works great so I haven’t needed to do that mod.
