RE: Time to replace batteries??

Absolutely time to replace. Hands-down. I don’t even give it a second thought. My motorhome is 17 years old and I have replaced the house batteries four times. In fact all of the batteries. If you want good reliable service do it.

RE: Seeking refrigerator tips... in AZ and heat is hampering...

Swamp coolers work very well. I have a portable one inside my motorhome to help with the air conditioners. Have to fill it with water almost every day. It helps a lot.

RE: Navion 24 trips GFCIs

Connect an ohmmeter between ground and neutral on the incoming power at the main power distribution panel. It should be open. If not start disconnecting things until it does become open. Somewhere there is some continuity between the ground and the neutral. What transpired just prior to the GFCI tripping? What is there Some particular incident or has it always been this way?

RE: Inverter Question

Probably the way it is wired. I certainly would not lose any sleep over it. I never tested mine that way.

RE: Hubcap issues

Get a rubber mallet and pound them on securely. That’s what I had to do on my Freightliner chassis because they fit very tight.

RE: A/C randomly quits

Possibly you have a loose connection either at the thermostat or up in the unit itself. I would check the connections on the thermostat and on the AC itself. If you do not feel comfortable I would call the mobile tech or get help from an electrical person. The control board may also be going bad but I would check the connections first. You may call me and I may be able to help over the phone.

RE: stay pluged in or not

I don’t travel anymore and mine has been plugged in for four years and will remain that way. I still live in it full-time even though I am not traveling.

RE: AC Question For Doug

Just curious.. What is the significance of 8.1V? What would create that particular voltage? Yes 8.1? Jerry

RE: AC Question For Doug

Might try reseating the connector on the thermostat and also at the other end where it plugs into the board. Sounds like you’ve got a drop in power supply voltage which probably comes off of the main board. I don’t know your particular system but that’s where I would start. Jerry Parr

RE: AC Question For Doug

Does it do the same when raising or lowering the temperature?

RE: Coach step inc issues

I would think so. Call step manufacture and order the parts.

RE: Electrical Problem

Did it occur when you went over a bump? If so maybe a loose connection.

RE: Electrical problem with front stabilizers. Update.

If I were you, I would trace the wire all the way from the battery to the motor to locate corroded or high resistance connection.

RE: Whoops, I did it again.

My magnum inverter charger comes with a built-in transfer switch which prevents such a thing. I guess yours was not set up that way. Things happen.

RE: RV pulling a tow through San Francisco

I went right through the center of San Francisco and across the Golden Gate bridge. No problem at all.

RE: Space heater recommendations?

I have bought a number of them from Walmart and they all have had thermostats.

RE: electrical problem

You need to replace the female connector of the male connector that was burned. Maybe even the male connector is well if it’s burned to badly. That should fix it all. You may call me if you wish.

RE: Short in the ACC pole

Generally, there is only one fault. However by replacing disconnecting and reconnecting all those other things you can accidentally induce another fault. Exactly what fuse is blowing? Jerry And what size is the fuse? How many amps?

Was there any incident just prior to it not working? Jerry Parr
