RE: 5th week hitches

You will also want to make sure your hitch is rated high enough to accommodate the weight of you friends 5th wheel.

RE: Campground with RV sites and cabins

What part of Texas are you looking?

RE: Material I need to move Travel Trailer

I see that you live in El Cajon. Drop by Rick's RV Center on Main Street and talk to them about your situation. Good people there that should be able to help. They set me up with my first fifth wheel hitch way back when I still used to live in the area. Good luck.

RE: Laura evacuation.

Most counties in the impacted areas ordered mandatory evacuations starting yesterday morning. Last night on the news they said if you hadn't left already, it's probably too late. Safe travels to those on the road.

RE: Accepting our fate....perhaps a TH after all

Check out Heartland Fuel or Cruiser Strykers. Both start at 23ft. and go up from there. King size beds in front and queen size beds in the back if equipped with the Happi-Jac beds. As mentioned, towing with a 150 might be challenging as TH's without toys in the back an be very tongue heavy.

RE: Toyhauler bumper pull for polaris ranger

Heartland Fuel/Cruiser Stryker both start at about 23 feet and go up from there. Both claim to be able to accommodate 4 seater SxSs. We have the Stryker 2313 and haul a RZR 800 in it easily.

RE: Who do you use for Insurance?

Kind of depends on where you're located. Had Progressive on my prior FW while living in California but switched to Texas Farm Bureau when we moved to Texas. I've read that there are some who disable their insurance while in storage but I don't know what companies allow that. Being financed, I would think the bank would want it insured 100% of the time just in case it gets broken into or something worse. Good luck in your search.

RE: Corona Camping

Not crazy at all. From what I've been reading, the RV industry is booming because lots of people have the same idea. It's probably safe to say the rental industry is feeling the same boom. As far as trip planning, I know that Good Sam has a trip planner on their site but I've never used it. There are others but I think the only way to know if campgrounds are actually open would be to call or email them. Good luck and have fun.

RE: Signature

Right below the signature box in my preferences, there's a checkbox to automatically append your signature in every message. Make sure that's checked and as mentioned, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and hit submit changes.

RE: How do I reach these clearance lights?

You could try one of those ladders that has the stand off arm at the top resting the standoff on the cab above the windshield. The ladder itself would not touch the glass. Just a thought.

RE: Do you drink.......

We drink filtered water brought from home. We do everything else with water from the tank. Taste matters. X2

RE: 25ft Toy Hauler Suggestions

I don't think you're going to find any toy hauler trailer in the 25 ft. range with a slide. The slide, when retracted will eat into the cargo area and for those of that haul larger toys, that is a lot of cargo space to give up. The Stryker in my sig is the smallest of the line and even it pushes 27 ft. tip to toe. Good luck in your search.

RE: 20 year loan for RV?

However, just because you get a twenty year loan, doesn’t mean you have to take twenty years to pay for it. You can make double or triple payments, but if you run into a financial difficulty for a while, you can make only the required payment, or no payment at all for a while. We are doing exactly this. Pay more when we can, pay minimum if we can't. Our plan is to have our TT paid off in 5 years or less. Also, in some cases you can get a better interest rate with a longer loan. Maybe not the best way for all but it definitely works for us.

RE: texas rv parks

Canyon Lake area north of San Antonio. On the edge of Hill Country with SA about an hour south (Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags), Austin an hour to the north (State Capital) and Texas wine country to the northwest. Lots of different RV Parks in this area as well.

If the display does not even come on, check for a blown fuse.

RE: Fifth Wheel to TT?

I actually never owned a TT until now, only FWs. Just sold our third to downsize to the TT in my sig. Main reasons, kids out of the house and we don't do the type of desert camping we used to anymore. Relocating to another state probably didn't help either. We enjoy the TT and don't regret our decision at all. We stuck with a TH so that we can still take the toys out if we want to and as others have mentioned, it's nice having the bed of the truck back.

RE: Registration Rant

I feel for you Anutami. We bailed on CA a couple years ago. Used to live in Escondido, not too far from you. The truck in my sig would cost me upwards of $500 for registration. Here in Texas, same truck $78.75 + $7 annual inspection, no smog.

RE: cruiser MPG 2550RB

Can't speak for the MPG line specifically but we've had no issues with our Cruiser Stryker so far. There is a fairly active Cruiser RV Owners group on Facebook. You may want to join and post your question there. Good luck in your search.
