Heartland Fuel vs. Cruiser Stryker

It is my understanding that Heartland RVs acquired Cruiser a few years ago. The wife and I are considering a smaller rig and in our search, we came across these two lines. Except for paint scheme, these units are identical. Since one is owned by the other, anyone know if they are actually built on the same assembly line? I know the Fuel is built specifically for Camping World but other than that, is there any difference? Frank

RE: 2012 6.7 Diesel

On average, for that year you would expect to see somewhere between 100k to 120k miles depending on how the truck was used. Double or triple that, I might look twice. As mentioned, earlier version of this truck had fuel pump problems. I add Cetane Boost to the truck in my sig with every fill up and have not had any issues. I have not heard of the radiator, bearing or glow plug problems mentioned earlier so I can't speak to that. If you're serious about this truck, I would definitely look at the service history and make sure there haven't been any problems in the areas of concern.

RE: KM Reosrts

Next time they call, just tell them you no longer have your RV and do not have plans to replace it any time soon. They'll stop calling.

RE: Need Toy Hauler with 15' garage or more, What to look for?

Heartland has a Cyclone with 15 ft. garage style and also a 20 ft. open style. Size may not matter, the question is can your wallet handle the price:).

Texas Hill Country. But then again, I'm biased.

RE: TT Toyhaulers - What Else is Out There

Thanks msmith1.wa. Nice looking camper. Not an issue that Evergreen is out of business as long as the rig itself is in good condition. I will definitely add to my list of campers to check out if I come across one.

RE: This chapter done, what next?

Will be following this thread closely. The wife and I are in almost the exact same boat. Both kids are out of the house and we recently relocated to a new state. The Cyclone after sitting for a year is now up for sale and we're trying to decide where RV life will take us next. Best wishes wherever this phase in life takes you.

TT Toyhaulers - What Else is Out There

As life goes on, we no longer have a need for our family sized FW toyhauler and are thinking about downsizing to a smaller TT style hauler just for the wife and I. We do still boondock so decent sized tanks and generator is still a must. While I currently own a Heartland, I'm not beholden to the brand but I did come across the Fuel line which advertises 100 gallon freshwater along with 41/41 grey and black which is about the same as our current FW. The downside is the Fuel line is fairly new and used units are not available that I can find. I really hate to buy new. Just wonder from all of you in the know, what other brands/lines out there have similar specs that I could check out for comparison? Thanks in advance.

RE: How big a pain to sell a 17 year old Alpha Gold?

IMO, a $3k consignment fee for a camper expected to sell in the $12k-$15k range is too much. Here in Texas, we have PPL Motorhomes, an all consignment lot and they charge a $995 flat fee for anything $10k or under. 10% for anything over. Good luck whichever route you go.

RE: Pets riding in trailer

Technically you could do it but I'm not sure how comfortable of a ride it's going to be for the new little one. She could get bounced around pretty good in the back of the trailer. Not to mention temp in the trailer, etc. while on the road. Being a foster, it could be a little traumatizing. JMO.

RE: Locks on Propane tanks?

I have locks on my tanks but not the compartment doors. For safety reasons, the valves should be easily accessible so they can be shut off if needed.

RE: Little Round Kitchen Sink

When I glanced at the photo I thought you took a picture of a bathroom sink. That will never do. What brand RV was that in? This was in a 2014 Thor ACE. I've also seen a similar setup in a few other models in the 30 foot and under range.

Little Round Kitchen Sink

Hi All. The wife and I are entertaining the idea of trading in our current 5th Wheel TH for a smaller Class A or C. While shopping on line, I noticed a couple different models with small round sinks in the kitchen. Just wondering from those of you that have this setup, how well it works? Seems kinda small but maybe that's just me. Frank

RE: Where's everyone riding for MLK weekend?

No longer live in California but our destination of choice has always been Ocotillo. I think my kids have plans to go MLK weekend.
