RE: F-250 vs F-350

If your mainly concerned with the ride quality a GM truck will probabky ride the best. There IFS handles and rides very well. I recently had a Ford owner in my GMC dually. He said "I wish my truck rode this smooth." ^^^^^^^This is so true.

RE: Maine Coastal Campground Suggestions

Bar Harbor KOA. Beautiful sunsets, lobster dinners, good amenities but pricey. That KOA is way overpriced.

RE: Advice on getting to Redwood NP

When we visited we went to Lassen, then onto Crater Lake and then took 199 down to Redwoods NP.

RE: How bad is it really? TC on a Ram 2500 w/coils.

I would put in a Roadmaster rear swaybar, Timbren double convolute kit and Bilstein shocks.

RE: SC to Maine, our first long trip

Personally, I would not spend a penny in New York but Acadia National Park in Maine is a must see. PA has some fantastic railroad museums. If you are planning on passing thru Baltimore be advised that the tunnel does not allow anything carrying propane so you need to avoid it. Good luck on your trip. Obviously you have never spent any time in the BEAUTIFUL Adirondack Park, 6 million acres of both public and private land. Some of the best hiking and paddling in the USA.

RE: Camping Recommendations For Yellowstone

We will be traveling through Yellowstone / Grand Tetons late August/early September for 4 or five nights and need a camping spot non serviced outside the park but within an easy drive to the main attractions. Have a 26’ TT pulled by truck. This is our first visit so any recommendations for camping and must do things to see in the parks would be appreciated. We are strong hikers/ bikers. Dave We stayed at Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone. It's a short drive from there to the entrance of Yellowstone. There is a ranger station on that drive. You can get a map or answers to any questions. Also there is a Grizzle/Wolf Discovery Center where you can see wolves up close. And a small shopping area if you need souvenirs, etc. plus a grocery nearby. Grizzly RV Park is the best.

RE: HELP PLEASE... Hitch and extension ?

Have you weighed your truck/camper? I don’t believe a 10’ floor 17’ overall length truck camper weighs 2k. You will find that the camper is closer to 3k+ lbs. ready to travel and your truck is grossly overloaded. Having the tailgate down doesn’t make your short bed truck a long bed truck. Adding any trailer is just adding to your overloaded truck.

RE: Norcold gas & electric fridge

Barry, I see that your refrigerator is in the slide out of your Host Cascade. The refrigerator will run hotter due to it side venting. I installed an arpRV with dual fans in my Arctic Fox 990 and it made all the difference in how the refrigerator cooled. Check them out.

RE: Moving an abandoned truck camper.

I think it’s fantastic that these people use their free time to clean up after the slobs of this world. I would volunteer if it was in my backyard.

RE: deploying side awning

I carry a 4’Louisville step ladder across my back seat of my truck, just for the side awning, but it comes in handy for other tasks.

RE: Turnbuckle advice

Torklift parts might be expensive but they are well engineered and built to last. This ^^^^^^^

RE: Air Bags Necessary?

Use the double convolute Timbrens not the severe duty kit.

RE: Truck tires

Put Michelin or Bridgestone/Firestone tires on your truck. My 2015 GMC 3500 dually has a AF 990 that weighs 4500+ lbs and my original Michelins will go 50k miles easily.

RE: Best Sealant to re-seal RV side hatch covers etc.

Northwoods/Arctic Fox uses Dicor self leveling on the roof and Geocel on vertical surfaces.

RE: Wolf Creek 890 Water Pump

Looks like my 2021 Wold Creek 890 water pump did not survive the winter. I have spent the last hour trying to actually find it. Any one know where the water pump is installed? Did you winterize the water system with antifreeze? The winterizing hose is right next to the pump. It should be up front right by the fresh tank (either under the step or right next to it). ^^^^^^^^ This.

RE: New truck. How long of a trailer can I tow?

Place the 5th wheel hitch on the roof for good balance and a added benefit would be that you could drive the trailer into it parking space.
