RE: rent a car

My turn to rant. So we make a reservation for a rental car at Enterprise for pick up on a friday at 1 pm. when we arrive they tell us they have zero cars. i think how can that be, we have a reservation. they inform us people call to extend there rentals at the last moment which leaves them with no cars. Does this sound like a good business model? after calling other branches hour and half later they find 1 for us. If the rental company allows a customer to extend the rental, then they must find you a car for your reservation. You shouldn’t have to wait, the car should be there! Imagine driving 2-3 days only to find that the campground allowed someone to extend their stay, knowing fair well that you were driving a distance and expecting the campsite for the next week? Ridiculous.

RE: Bathroom access on the road

....are there other factors to be considered about bathroom access before I commit to the purchase? Thanks What other factors are you worried about? To me the other issues involve the downsides of having a slide. Depending on the model you may not be able to access the kitchen, cabinets, or bed if the slide is not out. When traveling I like to be able to pull over and use the toilet, fix lunch and take a nap to help keep fresh and deal with long hours of driving. With a slide you cannot stop in a standard parking spot. I have visited friends and relatives where the only viable option was parking/camping on a residential street. I have stealth camped numerous times when a slide would not have worked and would have certainly called out attention. A slide also is a potential mechanical issue, an area at risk for water intrusion and it also adds considerable weight. I have seen some campers where the slide only served to add some floor space without doing much for comfort or utility. Is the slide worth it for your model and for how you expect to use the camper? If in doubt, you might want to look at a similar or even slightly longer TC without a slide. Talk to Bill about the choices that are currently available. Who is Bill?

RE: Nor Cold 2 way??

Works on AC but not on propane AO airflow/draft is sufficient for removal of heat AC Element and Propane transfer roughly the same heat energy to boil the ammonia coolant into a vapor SO Dirty Burner assembly OR LP System Pressure is Low (S/B 11"WC --0.4psi. IF low the flame temp will be low and heat generated will not boil the ammonia in sufficient volume to absorb heat from food compartment) **10"WC is 0.36 psi....can not visually tell difference between 11"WC and 10"WC. Need a manometer to measure system pressure...with at least 50% of appliances in service Hard to believe that the burner is dirty already, but a good thing to check. If he is traveling, unit is on propane. Side venting refrigerator when traveling are terribly inefficient. ARPRV fixed my inefficient fridge.

RE: Nor Cold 2 way??

Andy, go to ARPRV.com and purchase and install the #4 kit with dual fans and you fridge will run perfectly. My fridge in my AF 990 did exactly the same and after the install I run my fridge on setting 6 and the beer is cold and ice cream hard.

RE: I-95 rest area parking for RV

You have a 42’ diesel pusher with a pickup truck toad and you can’t stay in a campground? The rest areas are needed by over the road truckers that have to, by law, pull off the road and take required breaks.

RE: ....new truck camper manufacturer in Quebec

Jim: They are positioning into the "expedition overlanding" cohort it appears. Competing directly with truck campers like OverlandEx here--> where pop-up truck campers start at $72,000 CAD. And competing with truck camper expedition manufacturers like Nimbl pop-up ($121,000 with flatbed tray without truck)....and many others. Buyers seem to be lined up around the block to buy them.... all. I read on the Loki site that they are opening a manufacturing plant in Colorado, too. I'd bet that they will probably open a manufacturing facility in western Canada before too long. They will likely do extremely well. Especially these years, with the entire RV manufacturing industry working at more than 100% capacity. I believe the RV industry will cool in the next couple of years and you will see the market flooded with slightly used RV’s, because people will go back to their old ways of travel and recreating. Because of Covid many people were looking for ways to travel and recreate that didn’t involve hotels or air travel, because they weren’t available, so they bought RV’s.

RE: Truck bed camper shim

I have the short bed I guess I can find mud flaps and slide them under the mat front and back. I did notice a pretty good rock backwards when stopping, but the truck was real low on the back and I thought that was the cause. If the gap is in the back, just place the flaps in the back to compensate for the crown.

RE: Tranny fluid change

What about all the "OLD" ATF left in the converter??? You'll never get all the oil out, even by a professional shop Yes you can. Fill the transmission up, according to the dipstick, remove the return line from the oil cooler, install hose fitting, start truck, pump out a gallon, refill repeat until nice clean fluid appears.
