RE: Seven States to Ban the Sale of Gas Powered Cars in 2035

…The last new coal fired power plant to start up in the US was in 2013. And no plans for any new coal power plants. And not likely to get permits if they wanted to. US only has about 500 coal fired power plants and those are slowly being shut down. That just goes to prove how big of a SUCKER the US is. While we phase out coal, the rest of the world uses more and more. Look in the mirror, see that word stamped on your forehead? And don’t forget to keep putting them same people back in power. If you have ever visited China you would probably be anti coal. Took a business trip there years ago with three co workers. Air was thick enough to cut. Took a train from Hong Kong to Guanghou passing some kind of coal plants. For probably a mile diameter around them the ground was black with coal dust. We all had respiratory issues for 3-4 weeks after our return. Our company’s business was in controls for power plants and I visited a lot of them. Retired now. US plants are much cleaner but still not a place you would likely choose to live near. Fwiw Last time I checked China is going solar wind hydro to lower the polution. https://youtu.be/MIbbkW6dB98 https://youtu.be/4zt-SMlaaM8 Different info. China coal power plants THIS^^^^^, everyone I have ever meet that worked in China says the air is soooo bad that they had to go out into the country to get their lungs cleared. They are massive polluters and could care less about the environment.

RE: memory foam mattress freezing

I'm in a discussion group of Arctic Fox owners with about 5000 members. People that have replaced a mattress have always use a normal queen size. The AF truck campers use a 58” X 80” mattress, regular queen would be a pretty tight fit.

RE: Nascar Follies

They sure are booing Joe Gibbs on social media. Along with nepotism. Not a good look for Old Joe. But is just what Richard Childress needed. Old Joe wanted an excuse to put his grandson in a car so he dragged his feet until Kyle got frustrated an left. Richard Childress is a smart guy and secured Kyle before Tony Stewart could react.

RE: Bathroom door

My 2016 AF990 door works fine. Sounds like someone forgot to secure the door before transport.

RE: DISCUSSION: 8 ft + crew cab vs. SUV

Get a GM 4500 or a Ford F450, both have a tighter turning radius that the 3/4 or 1 ton trucks.

RE: Generator Gas Storage

I use RotoPax. I installed a RotoPax L bracket on the bumper of my AF 990, a Lox T handle and 2 GasPax. I have had them up to 10,000 feet without leaks.

RE: Best used truck campers for ~4400lbs payload SRW 1T 8' F-350

I would stay with a non slide out camper such as Northstar, Northernlite, Cirrus or Wolfcreek. Northwoods Mfg. recommends a dually truck for all their campers with a slide out.

RE: Overloaded or wrong truck?

EC 1165 dry weight 4917lbs Lots and lots of heavy options, big water tanks (-150 gal fresh, grey, black), etc, etc. Definitely OVERLOADED!!

RE: Ordering F-350 7.3 CCLB SRW - how big of camper can I get?

One more "1000#" stuff weight believer. I bought a 2020 Ram 3500 CC SRW to haul our new Northstar 12STC camper. The truck payload sticker was 4340#, so should be able to haul a good size camper, right? We bought the 12STC because we wanted the lightest true dry bath camper we could find. The 12 STC came in at 3330# dry (as weighed). Add water, propane, batteries, solar, the wife, and the camper was at 3945#. When I did the Cat scale camper and truck, then took the camper off and reweighed the truck, the final camper weight was 4780#, a full 1450# more than the dry weight! So I did what many folks do, air bags, adjustable shocks, Torquelift Stableloads, 19.5" tires. It actually handled very well, even though it was 440# overweight. I took my truck to the dealer for the annual safety inspection, and they asked me if I was interested in trading it in. They said they would give me a smokin' deal if I would order a new 2022 truck and trade in the 2020. They did, and I did, and now I have a the same truck with dual rear wheels, and haul the camper just fine with zero accessories. That is the truth about about MFG. weight and the true weight of a TC.

RE: Back up camera recommendations?

I used a commercial camera from Camera Source and a cable that plugs into the receptacle for my tailgate camera. I installed 2 rivnuts in the aluminum bumper of my Arctic Fox and fastened the camera to the bumper.
